Choosing the Atsion Office and its associated campgrounds is worth it for anyone who values a multi-faceted outdoor experience. Unlike many standard campgrounds, this location offers a profound blend of natural beauty and historical education. The opportunity to witness an 1800s minstrel band playing in the echoing halls of the Atsion Mansion or to play period-appropriate games on the lawn adds a cultural layer to the typical camping trip that is truly unique to New Jersey. It is a place where you can learn about the state's heritage in the morning and be lost in the silence of a pine forest by the afternoon.

Furthermore, the quality of the staff makes this destination stand out. The level of care provided—such as helping a cross-country traveler find the most peaceful spot for introspection—demonstrates a commitment to the visitor experience that goes beyond mere administration. For New Jersey families, the "good for kids" designation is a major draw; the kid-friendly hikes ensure that the next generation can develop a love for the outdoors in a safe and manageable way. Whether you are looking for the modern conveniences of an RV electric hookup or the simple pleasure of a tent under the stars with your dog by your side, the Atsion Office provides a professional, friendly, and deeply authentic New Jersey experience that is well worth the visit.

This review is for the Atsion Mansion located just behind the ranger office. We've been here a few times now for the guided and unguided tours. Most recently, they had an 1800's minstrel band playing and it awesome hearing them echo throughout the house. Outside, the staff had period appropriate table games setup for everyone to play with. The staff here is awesome! Always friendly and knowledgeable, maybe a little too knowledgeable sometimes, but they are always willing to share any and all information that they know. We love going there whenever they have new events scheduled.

I camped with Atsion at Godfrey’s Bridge Campground for two weeks and I had an incredible experience. I’m from Knoxville, Tennessee (along a long road trip odyssey) and this place allowed me to really do some real introspection. Especially because I was the only person in the campground, most of the time, so this was TRULY an awesome experience for me.But it was so awesome that I forgot to write this review for an exceptionally kind, helpful, and professional park service worker, who I promised to write this review for. Her name was Cindy and I really enjoyed having authentic conversation with her at this office. She went out of her way to find the best camping spot for me, along with answering all of my questions about this wonderful place, the New Jersey Pine Barrens. To Cindy, thank you again for helping me and for the excellent quality conversation we had. I hope you’ll accept my apologies for the lateness of this review that I promised I’d write for you. You do your job quite well, and I hope that your superiors acknowledge your work that you provide to the Wharton State Park team.

I had the most peaceful day there. People are friendly, they have grills , playground for children, lifeguards, employees walking the grounds making sure everyone is safe. Every hour or so people are ask to come out the rivers so parents can see their children are there, and the rules of swimming in the river. Also the river limit is Mark with flags, nets, Lifeguards on surfboards With whistles, chair lifeguards. Also you can bring coolers with drinks no beer or alcohol. Don't feel like bringing food to grill; they sale food. A good menu and good food we bought food. Bathrooms with a place to change clothes and shower but this time showers were down. But a beautiful place and great.

It was great little wooden office 😀. Wonderful and friendly staff. They allowed me to take some pictures and videos for everyone's reference. They also have a small shop where they sell sovinors like T-shirts. They have maps and other details about the place. Washrooms are not operational here they have washrooms in the lake Beach 🏖️ area. Whenever the Beach is closed due to lot of crowd, you can park 🏞️ your car and wait here. As soon as place gets cleared up rangers will come to your car and inform you. Thanks 😊👍
