Camp SkyTent Introduce

For outdoor enthusiasts in the New York region seeking something truly beyond the ordinary, Camp SkyTent offers a refreshing departure from traditional camping. Located in the heart of the picturesque Finger Lakes, this boutique campground specializes in "tree tent" glamping—a unique concept where tents are securely suspended between trees, allowing guests to sleep comfortably above the forest floor. This elevated experience combines the thrill of being immersed in nature with the comfort of a well-organized retreat, making it a standout destination for local New Yorkers looking to reconnect with the landscape in a novel and memorable way.

Camp SkyTent is more than just a place to pitch a tent; it is a carefully curated outdoor sanctuary. The property is a certified wildlife habitat, emphasizing a deep respect for the local ecosystem. With only a handful of sites spread across a lush, wooded property, the atmosphere remains intimate and tranquil. It is a place designed for those who want the "remote" feeling of the wilderness without having to travel hours away from civilization. Whether you are a solo traveler seeking a peaceful "corner of the world" or a family looking for an adventure that will captivate the kids, the "magic of the land" here provides a restorative backdrop for any stay.

Location and accessibility are key highlights of the Camp SkyTent experience. Situated at 4265 Perry City Rd, Trumansburg, NY 14886, the campground is perfectly positioned between the rolling hills and the world-renowned waters of the Finger Lakes. It is conveniently close to the charming village of Trumansburg, known for its vibrant arts scene and local eateries. For those looking to explore, the site is just moments away from Taughannock Falls State Park, home to one of the highest single-drop waterfalls in the Eastern United States. Accessibility on-site is handled with thoughtful care; while the sites feel secluded, the hosts provide specialized carts that glide smoothly over the terrain, making it easy for guests to transport their gear from the on-site parking area to their specific "sky" sanctuary.

The services offered at Camp SkyTent are designed to remove the "rough" from "roughing it," focusing on guest comfort and ease of stay. As a boutique glamping destination, the focus is on quality over quantity. The hosts are frequently praised for their warm and friendly demeanor, often seen strolling the grounds with their dog, ensuring every guest feels safe and welcome. From providing essential wood and water to maintaining pristine facilities, the service model here is professional yet deeply personal.

The features and highlights of Camp SkyTent set it apart from any other campground in the New York region. Each site, such as the fan-favorite "Fern Gully," is designed to have its own unique "vibe" and special quality. Some tents are suspended high in the air for the ultimate view, while others are set lower for easier access, allowing guests to choose the level of adventure that suits them. The tents themselves are noted for being surprisingly comfortable, with many guests reporting they wake up feeling as refreshed as if they had received a massage—a testament to the unique tensioned floor system of the tree tents.

  • Certified Wildlife Habitat status, ensuring a rich and vibrant natural environment full of local flora and fauna.
  • A variety of unique sites (approximately 7 tents total) offering different heights and levels of seclusion.
  • Clean and well-maintained restroom facilities that cater to the needs of modern campers.

In a world of crowded RV parks and traditional tent sites, SkyTent offers a "unique and magical" alternative that appeals to the senses. It is particularly worth choosing for those who value cleanliness and organization; guests frequently remark on how perfectly the sites are set up. My night at camp SkyTent was a unique and magical experience. I was camping alone, yet felt welcome and safe the moment I stepped onto the property. There were these awesome carts that smoothly helped transport my things to my site, and wood and water on location. i stayed on the Fern Gully site which felt like my own tiny little corner of the world. The sites are clean and organized and set up perfectly. I LOVED the skytent, so cool and comfy and I woke up so refreshed and literally like I had gotten a massage. (Maybe from sleeping in the air, maybe just from the magic of the land!) I met the hosts and their doggie while they were strolling, and they were all warm and friendly. I highly recommend this location. Such a cool experience!!! I will always remember it

Loved how spaced apart tents are. Glad we brought the mattress as it's pretty firm to sleep without one.
