La Grand e RV Park Rentals Introduce

La Grande RV Park Rentals, often referred to as La Grande Resort, is a long-standing fixture in the Southern Maryland camping community. Established in 1993, this 33-acre wooded retreat offers a quiet and professional atmosphere for both short-term travelers and those seeking long-term residential options. For residents of Maryland, particularly those in the St. Mary’s County area, La Grande represents a reliable home base that balances the rugged feel of the forest with the essential modern conveniences required for a comfortable RV lifestyle. The park is characterized by its mature trees, spacious lot sizes, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, family-oriented environment that has served the region for over three decades.

The philosophy at La Grande is centered on providing a "home away from home" experience. Unlike many seasonal campgrounds that close during the winter months, La Grande remains open year-round, making it an invaluable resource for workers on local projects or families in transition. The grounds are expansive enough to offer privacy and a sense of seclusion, yet they are managed with a focus on community standards and cleanliness. Visitors often remark on the helpfulness of the office staff and the convenience of having on-site services that cater specifically to the technical needs of RV owners, such as propane refills and specialized supplies.

Location and accessibility are primary draws for this Leonardtown establishment. Situated at 23285 Point Lookout Road, the park is approximately 1.5 miles south of the heart of historic Leonardtown. This puts guests in immediate proximity to the Leonardtown Wharf, local boutiques, and popular dining spots like The Front Porch and Olde Town Pub. For those coming from further afield, the park is easily accessible via MD-5, located about an hour and fifteen minutes from Washington D.C. and roughly two hours from Baltimore. The entrance is designed for easy navigation, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking lots, ensuring that the facility is inclusive for all travelers regardless of mobility needs.

  • Total of 67 spacious RV campsites available for daily, weekly, and monthly rentals.
  • Full hookups at every site, including water, sewer, and electrical service (30-amp and 50-amp options).
  • On-site propane refill station capable of filling all sizes of propane bottles and motorhomes.
  • Secure, monthly camper and boat storage facilities for those needing extra space.
  • 24/7 laundry facility equipped with modern washers and dryers operated via coin or mobile app.
  • Climate-controlled bathhouses featuring private public restrooms and oversized showers.
  • On-site shop providing essential parts and accessories for auto and camper maintenance.
  • Professional management and office staff available for 24-hour emergency assistance.
  • High-speed Wi-Fi access available through the local cable provider for long-term tenants.

The features and highlights of La Grande RV Park Rentals emphasize the natural beauty of the St. Mary's County landscape. The 33-acre property includes a dedicated 3/4-mile nature and hiking trail that winds through the woods, offering guests the chance to spot white-tail deer, rabbits, and various local bird species. For families, the park has recently updated its recreational facilities, ensuring children have a dedicated space to play and socialize safely. The park's layout is designed to accommodate large rigs up to 42 feet in length, with wide turns and level gravel pads that simplify the setup process for even the largest motorhomes.

  • Wooded 3/4-mile hiking trail that connects the campground to surrounding state forest lands.
  • Modern playground area featuring new equipment for children of various ages.
  • Recreational amenities including a tetherball pole, soccer goal, and horseshoe pits.
  • Pet-friendly policy that welcomes dogs and cats (standard Maryland leash laws apply).
  • Individual picnic tables and new BBQ grills provided at each site for outdoor family meals.
  • Dedicated sanitary dump station available for both residents and the general public.
  • Proximity to the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds, a hub for local events and heritage festivals.
  • Quick access to freshwater and saltwater fishing, kayaking, and boating within a 15-minute drive.
  • Well-lit paved and gravel roads throughout the park for safe evening walks.

What is worth choosing when it comes to La Grande RV Park Rentals is the peace of mind that comes with a professionally managed, long-term capable facility. For Marylanders working in the Southern Maryland region, it is the premier choice for a "work-stay" because it provides full sewer hookups—a feature that many state park campgrounds lack. The inclusion of a 24/7 laundry room and an on-site propane station makes it a highly practical choice for those who value convenience and self-sufficiency. Additionally, the park's year-round availability makes it a rare find in the Mid-Atlantic, where many camping options disappear once the temperature drops.

Choosing La Grande is also a choice for local history and community. Its location near "The Mother County" of Maryland means you are perfectly positioned to explore Historic St. Mary’s City, the Calvert Marine Museum, and Point Lookout State Park. The balance of a friendly, helpful staff with a clear set of community rules ensures that the "grace" and "atmosphere" of the park are preserved for everyone. Whether you are looking for a weekend of nature walks and campfires or a stable, year-round residence for your RV, La Grande RV Park Rentals provides the infrastructure and environment to make your stay in Leonardtown both productive and relaxing.

Very nice place and setup well... The staff in the office were exceptionally mice and willing to work with you. The bathrooms are clean and I'm sure the laundry is too. Play area for kids and a shop for all your auto/camper needs.

Not worth applying because I had a low credit score and a repossession from 3 years ago. I was denied even offered to pay three month advance rent. Still denied. Meanwhile if you go there in person. Definitely would have thought a little grace would be given based on the atmosphere

Oh my goodness! We have never stayed in. Such a gross dirty scary RV park. We used to be a long time RV family. We know what it means to stay for years at the same place. These people had no care for their homes for their surroundings. Then it came to our spot. It was nice because it was at the very end of the park, and there was no one beside us, but our spot itself was dirty. It had dirty rags in it and a doggy pee pad. We were told that we would have 50 amp service and Wi-Fi. Neither happened. I guess the 50 amp was broken and they couldn’t fix it for three days. We left before that three days. I’m very grateful to the manager for listening to my complaints and was very empathetic. He also returned our payment for our stay. I hope someday they get the place cleaned up. Until then I would never stay here.

This place has come a long ways in a few years. It’s under new management and ownership now and it shows. The facilities are clean and maintained. The camper spots are more level with less mud and more stone. The manager is very accommodating if you’re dropping off for a future job or need anything. It’s a convenient spot for work or pleasure.
