Mt. Greylock Campsite Park Introduce

For Massachusetts residents seeking a true mountain retreat, Mt. Greylock Campsite Park offers an unparalleled outdoor experience in the heart of the Berkshires. Spanning 47 acres of lush, wooded terrain at the base of the Mount Greylock State Reservation, this family-owned and operated park has earned its reputation as a premier destination for those looking to reconnect with nature. Recently voted the "Best Campground in the Berkshires 2025," it provides a perfect balance of rustic wilderness and modern convenience, catering to everything from primitive tent enthusiasts to luxury RV travelers.

The atmosphere at Mt. Greylock Campsite Park is defined by its spaciousness and seclusion. Unlike many high-density campgrounds, the sites here are deep and wide, separated by natural barriers of trees and grass to ensure a sense of privacy. Residents from across the Commonwealth often find that the "state park feel" of the grounds, combined with the professional and warm hospitality of the on-site management, creates an ideal environment for weekend getaways, family reunions, or even honeymoon retreats. It is a place where the air is crisp, the community is friendly, and the highest peak in Massachusetts is right in your backyard.

Located at 15 Scott Road in Lanesborough, MA, the park is exceptionally accessible for local travelers. For those coming from the Boston area or Central Massachusetts, the drive through the scenic Route 2 or the Mass Pike offers a beautiful introduction to the Berkshire hills. The campground is situated directly across from the entrance to the Mount Greylock State Reservation, making it a strategic basecamp for hikers and nature photographers. The park entrance is gated for security, utilizing a modern system that recognizes registered license plates for seamless entry and peace of mind.

Accessibility is a cornerstone of the park’s design. The facilities include wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms, ensuring that all guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the Berkshires. For those looking to explore beyond the campsite, the park is just a short drive from Pontoosuc Lake for boating, the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail for biking, and cultural hubs like Tanglewood and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA).

Mt. Greylock Campsite Park provides a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the needs of diverse camping styles. Whether you are looking for a weekend of roughing it or a week of "glamping," the following services are available to enhance your stay:

  • On-site management and 24/7 security assistance to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Milo’s Market, the on-site campground store, stocked with firewood, ice, and camping essentials.
  • Honey Wagon service available for a fee, providing convenient waste removal for RVs at their sites.
  • High-speed Wi-Fi available at the Welcome Center and pool area, with options to purchase access for individual campsites.
  • Propane refueling and firewood delivery directly to your campsite fire ring.
  • Clean, modern bathhouses featuring free hot showers for all registered guests.

What is truly worth choosing about Mt. Greylock Campsite Park is the combination of genuine hospitality and the sheer scale of the campsites. Many veteran campers in the Massachusetts region note that it is rare to find a private campground that offers so much space and privacy per site, avoiding the "parking lot" feel of many other RV parks. Choosing this park means choosing an experience where you are treated like family—whether you need help backing in a new trailer for the first time or want a recommendation for the best local wing spot in Lanesborough.

The value proposition is also a significant draw. With competitive rates for everything from primitive tent sites to large pull-through RV hookups, it remains an affordable way to enjoy the high-end cultural and natural amenities of the Berkshires. The "honeymoon site" and other themed locations offer a touch of character that makes every stay feel personal. For those who value cleanliness, the bathhouses are consistently rated among the best in the state. If you are looking for a place where you can watch the sunrise over the highest mountain in the state and end the day with live music by a crackling fire, Mt. Greylock Campsite Park is an unbeatable choice.

Very nice campground. Stayed weekend in October. Planning a car event so needed a place that would have room for rv and trailer setup. The owner Patricia was so nice and accommodating . She had Dave show us all campsites that would fit our group and have us all together. Also Dave will be helping us with the moving and placements of trailers . The sites are really big and spacious . Bathrooms nice and clean. Has front gate for safety . The only to mention is no black tank dumping at the sites . But they do have a dump station and honey wagon. They do have grey tank dumping at the sites and electric and water. Also we stayed at site 73 nice big site .we will back in june with several dunebuggies .

I have been going to camp grounds my whole life and this one is by far the best one I have ever stayed at! We recently went here for the first time for our honeymoon and low and behold the site we were on was nicknamed the honeymoon site!Everyone that works here was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area! The sites are LARGE and feel super private, like your camping alone! And omg the bathrooms were the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at any campground, with free hot water!!I am already looking over the calendar for when I can book for next season!

Wonderful, clean, organized, helpful & kind! Love seeing all the chickens free ranging and our campsite was perfect w/ very friendly campers surrounding us! The young man that delivered the wood was very kind & respectful and brought it right over to our fire pit and stacked it nicely. Their customer service & appreciation for your visit is very notable! Also notable is the cleanliness of the public restrooms. This campground is maintained very nicely! Highly recommend, especially if you like to hike, Mt Greylock trails are 5 mins up a gorgeous scenic road and 100% worth the experience!

Had a great week at Greylock, exploring all that the region has to offer. Centrally located. Nice wooded sites for all sizes of RV’s (call to book if over 40 ft but they do have big sites!). Only downside is no black tank dump at each site. They do have grey tank dump at the ACH site, though. Showers had good pressure and were clean, even at the end of the season.

Been camping for 63 years and never stayed at a better public campground. Staff was wonderful, helpful, accommodating, knowledgable, and considerate of all campers. Sites were wooded, well maintained, large and private. Bathrooms were consistently clean. Setting was great.
