Niantic / I-95 Exit 72 KOA Holiday Introduce

Niantic / I-95 Exit 72 KOA Holiday serves as a vibrant gateway to the Connecticut shoreline, offering a blend of traditional outdoor adventure and modern "glamping" comforts. Nestled in the seaside village of Niantic within the town of East Lyme, this campground has become a cherished destination for Connecticut residents and travelers navigating the Northeast corridor. Whether you are arriving with a massive 70-foot RV rig or looking to introduce your children to nature in a cozy camping cabin, this KOA Holiday provides a professional and family-oriented environment. The park is designed to be more than just a place to sleep; it is a full-service resort destination that captures the essence of a New England summer.

As a "Holiday" rated KOA, the facility is specifically geared toward travelers looking for a base camp for exploring local attractions or a fun-filled retreat without ever leaving the grounds. The atmosphere is characterized by warm hospitality, with a staff known for going the extra mile—from personal escorts to your site to organized holiday events like Halloween trick-or-treating. For locals in the Connecticut region, it represents a perfect staycation spot that combines the rustic charm of the woods with the upscale amenities of a modern vacation resort, including a newly renovated heated pool and a well-stocked camp store.

Location and accessibility are two of the strongest selling points for this campground. Situated at 271 W Main St, Niantic, CT 06357, the park is remarkably easy to reach, located just 800 feet off Exit 72 on Interstate 95. This prime location makes it a convenient stop for those traveling between New York City and Boston, yet it remains surprisingly peaceful once you enter the wooded grounds. The park is meticulously designed for accessibility, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms, ensuring that all guests can enjoy the facilities regardless of mobility needs.

The proximity to the shoreline is a major draw. To make beach access effortless, the campground offers a unique courtesy shuttle service during the peak season, transporting guests to downtown Niantic, the scenic Niantic Bay Boardwalk, and popular local beaches like Rocky Neck State Park. For those who prefer to drive themselves, the office even provides free parking passes to several town-owned beaches, including McCook Point and Hole-in-the-Wall Beach. This level of local integration allows campers to enjoy the best of the Connecticut coast without the typical parking headaches associated with beach towns.

Wonderful campground. We had a pull through 70 foot site with water and electric. They do let you dump your gray water on stones at the site but we didn’t feel comfortable doing that. There is a dump station on the way out. Our site had a wooden two person swing by the fire pit, grill, and table with four chairs. There is continental breakfast service in the office/store from 9-11am. Very nice to be able to have waffles on the day we were leaving. Staff in the office was so nice and helpful.

We had an amazing time at this campground truly a family-oriented gem with plenty of amenities and fun, for kids of all ages. from the moment we arrived, Delia greeted us warmly at check-in, setting the tone for a fantastic day. Ashley gave us a personal Halloween escort around the camp, which made the experience extra special, and Michaelhanded out a heartfelt touch by handing out candy bars, and capturing memories through photos and videos. Every area we occupied was clean, need, and tidy, and the bathrooms were in superb condition. The campground is well maintained and offers seasonal favorites like pumpkin painting, tie-dye, fire, truck rides, and tractor hay rides that are always a hit. Thank you so much for going above and beyond this place, it is clamping at its finest, and we would highly rate it. Five star.

Had such an awesome time at this campground. We stayed for a long weekend but had an amazing time. Certainly close to a lot of attractions but there were plenty of amenities at the campground. The staff also loved what they do and really took care of us and our family. The campground is well maintained, they do have a heated pool but it was a little cold however considering the time of year my kids used it, late September, I wouldn't expect anything less. There are lots of games and activities for the kids, the campground was really quiet and very spacious. Lots of nice roads to bike around on, new mini golf course, pool is recently renovated.Had every time and looking forward to going back

Turned out to be an awesome trip! We got to enjoy a hayride, fire truck ride, tie-die shirt making as well as pumpkin painting. When the kids were not busy with the activities there was plenty of other things to do, Great Kids Park as well as full-size chess and checkers, The list goes on. Special thanks to Delia the management and staff team! The facilities were very clean and everything couldn't have turned out better!

We had a great weekend at this campground. Very friendly, helpful staff and the campers were also very friendly. Grandkids had a great time, lots of activities for them all day long. Clean restrooms and bathrooms. Definitely visiting again next year. Great atmosphere all around, the friendliest campground I've visited.
