Pine Ridge Campground Introduce
Pine Ridge Campground is a premier seasonal RV destination located in the picturesque highlands of Adams County, Pennsylvania. Nestled within the expansive Michaux State Forest, this veteran-owned and family-operated establishment offers a unique mountain escape for those looking to trade the city heat for cool mountain breezes. Since its establishment in 2017, the campground has focused on building a true community atmosphere, catering primarily to seasonal residents who view their campsites as a second home. At an elevation of 2,050 feet, the air is often significantly cooler than in the surrounding valleys, making it a favorite retreat during the humid Pennsylvania summers.
The philosophy at Pine Ridge Campground is centered on the "Pine Ridge Family" concept. Unlike corporate-owned facilities, this park is managed on-site by its owners, Patti, Stephen, and Jamie, who are known for their hands-on approach and personal engagement with every camper. The park operates on a seasonal model from April 1st through October 31st, allowing families to settle in and enjoy the full beauty of the spring blooms, summer activities, and the stunning fall foliage of the South Central Pennsylvania mountains without the hassles of winter maintenance.
Location and accessibility are among the top draws for this Biglerville destination. Situated at 2635 Shippensburg Road, the campground is remarkably easy to reach for residents of South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. It serves as a perfect basecamp for history buffs, located just 20 to 30 minutes from the historic Gettysburg National Military Park. For outdoor enthusiasts, the location is unbeatable; the campground sits just 1,500 feet from the world-famous Appalachian Trail and 1,000 feet from the DCNR ATV trails within Michaux State Forest. Despite its mountaintop setting, the facility prioritizes inclusivity, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom facilities to ensure all guests can enjoy the mountain scenery.
To support a comfortable long-term stay, Pine Ridge Campground provides a comprehensive suite of services tailored to modern RV living. The park is designed to handle a variety of rig sizes while ensuring that the "glamping" side of the experience is well-covered. The services offered include:
- Full-hookup RV sites equipped with 20, 30, and 50 amp electrical service.
- Reliable underground water systems with consistent 65 PSI pressure.
- Direct sewer connections at every site to eliminate the need for frequent trips to a dump station.
- High-speed fiber Wi-Fi throughout the campground to keep residents connected.
- Coin-operated laundry facilities featuring multiple washers and dryers for guest convenience.
- Professional on-site management and maintenance teams to assist with site needs and community upkeep.
- Winter storage options for seasonal residents, allowing RVs to remain on-site during the off-season.
The features and highlights of Pine Ridge Campground are what truly transform it from a standard RV park into a recreational haven. The owners have invested heavily in creating communal spaces that encourage social interaction and family fun. Some of the most notable features include:
- A large 22x44 foot saltwater swimming pool that is heated for comfort at high altitudes.
- A one-acre catch-and-release fishing pond stocked with Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Sunfish, and Catfish.
- Direct access to over 40 miles of designated ATV trails in the Michaux State Forest.
- A dedicated dog park and pet-friendly policies that make it easy to bring the whole family along.
- Kid-friendly amenities including a playground, crafts, and organized community events like bingo and movie nights.
- The "Corn Crib" bar and a spacious pavilion that serve as the social hubs for live music and potluck dinners.
- Proximity to the Appalachian Trail for world-class hiking right from the campground's doorstep.
- A pristine bathhouse and restroom facility, frequently praised by guests for its cleanliness and hotel-like quality.

What makes Pine Ridge Campground particularly worth choosing is the intentional focus on community over commerce. By transitioning to a 100% seasonal model, the park ensures that your neighbors are familiar faces rather than transient travelers. This creates a safe, predictable environment where children can play freely and adults can build lasting friendships. The veteran-owned status of the business reflects in the meticulous maintenance and orderly operation of the grounds, while the "family-first" approach ensures that rules are balanced with a genuine desire for everyone to have a good time.
Additionally, the specific climate of the Biglerville mountains provides a natural escape from the heat found in lower elevations of Pennsylvania. Whether you are interested in the thrill of the Michaux ATV trails, the quiet reflection of the fishing pond, or the historic weight of nearby Gettysburg, Pine Ridge provides a well-managed and friendly home base. For families seeking a high-quality seasonal retreat that values cleanliness, security, and a welcoming spirit, this campground stands as one of the top choices in the region.

Customer Reviews
We are new to the campground this year. We love the atmosphere, the new friends we have made and the ones we continue to make. We have three children (2, 9 and 11) that are also loving it. They love the pool, playground, crafts and the friends they have made. The owners are amazing and always there to help with anything as are all the other campers. Never met a nicer group of people. Pine Ridge is truly a family.
This is my second year camping at Pine Ridge Campground. I can tell you that within 5 minutes after arriving for our first visit we knew this was the place for us! The owners dropped what they were doing and took us all around the campground showing us projects they were working on and what their future plans were. Everything in the campground is done properly and is top notch. Although the pool, bath house, pavilion, corn crib, and stage are all very nice.....I wouldn't need any of it to stay at Pine Ridge. The owners and other campers are awesome. My wife and I have gained some great new friends!!
My husband and I have been camping for 19 years, having been "weekend warriors," traveling to different campgrounds, and seasonal for 6+ years each at two other campgrounds. By far, Pine Ridge Campground is the cleanest, nicest, well thought out, and meticulously maintained campground we've stayed at either as transient or permanent campers. This is a 99% permanent campground, so don't expect to drive in with your camper for an overnight spot - although, if you're really in a bind, I bet the owners would be kind enough to let you stay the night anyway. There are two cabins - if you can even call the beautiful accommodations "cabins" - available for rent. There are lots of fun activities for kids and adults - great family entertainment, pot luck meals, pizza night, bingo, kids crafts, movie night, beautiful salt water pool, live music 3-4 times a year, events to support the local fire departments, and many many more engaging activities. Their prices are reasonable, especially compared to other campgrounds. Every site is well maintained, each camper is pleasant and friendly. The bath house is nicer than some hotels! This is one of the safest, cleanest campgrounds we've stayed at.We're so glad we found Pine Ridge Campground, and are looking forward to many more years of relaxing, fun and friendship there. Thanks Steve, Patti, Jamie, for thinking of the campers first, and providing such a fantastic camping experience. We're happy to be part of the PRC family!!!
We love to camp and enjoyed traveling to new places but when we found pine ridge we decided to give seasonal camping a try. The best decision we ever made. We’ve been with the pine ridge family since the first year they’ve opened. Every year it just keeps getting better. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. You become family when you join the campground. You won’t find better owners who truly care. They constantly give back to their campers with great holiday parties and gifts. Don’t hesitate becoming a camper here. You won’t regret it!!
We have been campers there for 3 years now and never once had any issues with anyone. The owners are a Class Act and Super Friendly. Everyone in the Campground is friendly and it's like family. It's a safe place to for their kids to play as well.. Why anyone would bash the Owners and the Campground is BS. Gonna call it like it is Complete BS. We Love Pine Ridge Campground. Facts..
