Shady Lane offers a distinct residential environment that emphasizes a slower pace of life, catering to individuals and families who prefer the suburban-rural fringe over the dense urban centers of nearby Syracuse. This community is categorized as a mobile home park, providing a structured neighborhood layout where residents typically own or rent individual manufactured units while sharing the common infrastructure of the grounds.

The community is often described by long-term residents as a tranquil setting. For many New Yorkers, finding a place that balances affordability with a sense of peace is a top priority. Shady Lane Community, Inc. has served the Kirkville area for many years, acting as a home for a diverse demographic of neighbors. It provides a neighborhood feel where neighbors often know one another by name, creating a sense of local familiarity that is increasingly rare in larger residential complexes. For those searching for a permanent residence or a long-term rental option, understanding the nuances of this community is essential for making an informed local housing decision.

Location and accessibility are two of the most critical factors for any New York resident. Shady Lane Community, Inc. is situated at 785 Fyler Rd, Kirkville, NY 13082. This location puts residents in a strategic spot within Central New York. Kirkville is a hamlet that offers a rural charm while remaining conveniently close to the city of Syracuse and the village of Minoa. This allows residents to enjoy the quietude of the countryside while remaining within a reasonable commuting distance to major employment hubs, medical facilities, and shopping centers like Destiny USA. The park’s proximity to Fyler Road ensures that residents have a direct route to local thoroughfares, facilitating travel throughout the region regardless of the season.

In terms of physical accessibility, the management of Shady Lane Community, Inc. has taken steps to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges. One of the highlighted features of the property is its wheelchair accessible parking lot, which ensures that residents and visitors with disabilities can navigate the entrance and administrative areas of the park with greater ease. This community is often worth choosing for individuals who prioritize a quiet, low-key lifestyle in a rural setting. It is particularly well-suited for seniors or individuals who do not require frequent high-speed access to the city and who appreciate a neighborhood where the rules are strictly enforced. This is a great little community to live in. My sister lived here for 13 years before her passing. She loved this place, her neighbors, and the tranquil setting.

Terrible place to live if you are anything but old and unable to drive. Don't allow you to do maintenance to your own vehicles, housing for rent is often in terrible condition, once an old trailer was haphazardly towed to the back of the property and left to rot. Roads are in terrible condition with pot holes being filled with gravel and plowing is never done on time or effectively. No salt is used which often leaves a nice sheet of ice for your children to fall on as they walk to the front of the park to board their school bus. Speaking of children, It it almost impossible to have a family with teenagers in the park as they do not allow you to have more than two cars in a driveway, no matter the size of the driveway or lot. They offer to let you park at the front, but there is insufficient parking space and often this means walking across a 1/4 mile of the aforementioned ice sheet in the winter to get the the front of the park, on which you will inevitably hurt yourself severely eventually and waste 15 minutes of your time each way daily. The management enjoys activities like driving around in their vans evicting younger couples and bending to the will of the few crotchety old men who live in the park who's wives have long since passed and have nothing better to do than to harass others, which the management not only facilitates but encourages. The woman who patrols the park must also think she has radar guns for eyeballs, as she will attempt to berate you for endangering lives and going a maddening speed if your windows are down as you pass even though you are going exactly the speed limit. PS. The back area where they make you store any boats campers etc. is not only full but infested with ants and possibly termites that will destroy anything wood and invest any camper if it has food in it. Terrible place to live.
