Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc Introduce
Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc is a premier outdoor destination located in the picturesque Hudson Valley region of New York. Spread across 65 wooded and open acres, this privately-owned campground offers a tranquil retreat for families, nature enthusiasts, and travelers looking to experience the beauty of Dutchess County. The centerpiece of the park is the crystal-clear, 120-acre spring-fed Sylvan Lake, which provides a stunning backdrop for a wide variety of recreational activities. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a seasonal home away from home, the park provides a welcoming atmosphere that balances the rugged charm of the outdoors with the convenience of modern amenities.
For decades, Sylvan Lake Beach Park has served as a cornerstone of the Hopewell Junction community, offering a secluded environment where guests can unplug and reconnect with nature. The park is meticulously maintained, featuring a mix of shaded forest sites and open grassy areas that are perfect for everything from quiet reflection to high-energy group events. From the annual golf cart parades to the evening campfires that dot the shoreline, the sense of community here is palpable. It is a place where traditions are born and where the simple pleasures of lakeside living—such as watching a sunset over the water or listening to the wind through the pines—are celebrated every day.
Conveniently located at 18 Mcdonnells Ln, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533, Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc is easily accessible for residents of New York City, Westchester, and the surrounding tri-state area. Situated just an hour north of Manhattan, it offers a quick escape for those looking to leave the city's hustle behind. The park is close to major transportation routes, including the Taconic State Parkway and Interstate 84. However, travelers arriving in large RVs are advised to follow specific park directions and avoid the parkway, which has strict height and vehicle type restrictions. The local roads lead you through the charming rolling hills of the Hudson Valley before arriving at the secluded entrance of the resort.
The park is designed with inclusivity in mind, ensuring that all guests can enjoy the facilities. Accessibility features include a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot. Furthermore, the main buildings and common areas, including the restrooms, are designed to be accessible, allowing guests with mobility challenges to navigate the campground comfortably. On-site parking is plentiful, with a free parking lot available for visitors and guests, making it easy for friends and family to join you for a day of lakeside fun.

Choosing Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc is worth it for anyone seeking an authentic and community-focused camping experience in New York. One of the primary reasons to visit is the quality of the lake itself; spring-fed and remarkably clear, Sylvan Lake offers some of the best freshwater swimming and non-motorized boating in Dutchess County. Because the beach is no longer open to the general public, campers enjoy a level of privacy and space that is rare for waterfront properties in the Hudson Valley. This exclusivity ensures that the sandy shores remain a peaceful place for families to relax without the typical crowds of a public park.
Furthermore, the park's dedication to family-friendly entertainment makes it a standout choice. The staff is frequently praised for being friendly and helpful, organizing events like the golf cart parade and community BBQs that help neighbors become friends. For parents, the safety of the park is a major plus; with quiet roads and plenty of space for kids to ride bikes or play in the playground, it provides a secure environment for children to explore. Whether you are fishing from the shore, kayaking across the still water in the morning, or taking a short drive to explore the FDR Estate or the Walkway Over the Hudson, Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc serves as the perfect home base for a memorable New York adventure. It is a place where you can truly settle into the "lake life" and enjoy the best that the Hudson Valley has to offer.

We had a great day participating in the golf cart parade and came in second place . Thank you so much for the Bbq and event.staff was friendly and helpful !
Camped in a Thor magnitude sv34 super c. The staff at this campground were really helpful. Nice layout and plenty of room. Well kept. There is a lake, bathhouse and other buildings. Wonderful place to take the kids. They can safely ride bike, canoe and paddle board. Follow directions from the park and don’t get on the New York parkway. Plenty of golf courses in area.
Had a great time here, beautiful and relaxing. Kim is an exceptional park manager!! She went above and beyond to help us solve a couple issues (not related to the park). Would definitely stay here again.
We decided to go tent camping in the off season, and this site was perfect for that. The sites can be close, but in the off season we were so far away from anyone that it didn't matter. We fortunately had great weather while there, and waking up to the view of the lake was nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be with the shower. There is one men's, and one women's, shower per bathhouse, so I'm not sure how this goes over during the busy season. The men's shower really needed some CLR and a good scrub, but the water was hot and the shower made me feel presentable when interacting with the locals. We still enjoyed our stay, and would definitely camp here again.
We stayed here just one night as we were passing through. We stayed at a full hookup site. The campground appears to be mostly seasonal/long-term, though there were also a couple of tenters and some other short term campers as well. The staff were very friendly and great to deal with. There is a playground and Beach area on-site, which my kids loved. There are a couple of bathrooms and laundry faculty on-site as well. Some sites were crammed in together (where we stayed), and others had a lot of space between. We probably should have looked around and picked a spot we liked better, but it was a long day, and we just wanted a spot to park for the night, and with hookups to clean out before getting home the next day, and it did all of that. The hookups were great. The water pressure was good, electricity never got below 114 V, and it was a hot day with plenty of air conditioners running. It is a bit rundown and dated, and a lot of the trailers were also dilapidated. However, a nice part of the obviously older campground is that the trees are very large and mature. Overall, it was a nice place to do an overnight, but it's not my cup of tea for a destination location. But I usually like to stay in state/national parks or boondocking.I would stay here again overnight, but wouldn't make it a destination.
