Waterfalls Campsite Introduce
Waterfalls Campsite, nestled in the scenic heart of Middleburgh, New York, serves as a quintessential destination for those seeking a true "back to nature" experience. Spanning over twenty acres of pristine woodland in Schoharie Valley, this family-owned and operated facility has been welcoming campers since 1982. The park’s philosophy is rooted in simplicity and tranquility, offering a quiet retreat away from the mechanical noise and crowded bustle of modern life. For local New Yorkers looking for a weekend sanctuary, the campsite provides a unique opportunity to sleep under the stars, serenaded by the gentle sounds of the nearby mountain stream and falling water.
The hallmark of the property is its two beautiful natural waterfalls, which offer spectacular views and a cooling respite during the warm summer months. Unlike larger, commercialized resorts, Waterfalls Campsite emphasizes a respectful connection with the environment. The grounds are carefully maintained to preserve their rugged, natural charm, making it a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and families who appreciate a traditional camping atmosphere. Whether you are pitching a tent in a secluded wooded nook or parking your RV in a spacious meadow site, the emphasis remains on a clean, safe, and family-oriented environment where the beauty of the Catskill foothills takes center stage.
Location and accessibility make Waterfalls Campsite a convenient choice for regional travelers. Located at 104 Waterfalls Drive in Middleburgh, NY 12122, the park is easily reachable via major routes serving the Southern Tier and Capital District. It is situated just a short drive from the historic village of Middleburgh, allowing guests easy access to local grocers and charming small-town shops. While the site provides a secluded feel, its proximity to regional attractions like the Iroquois Museum and the scenic Vroman’s Nose hiking trail ensures there is plenty to explore beyond the park gates. Visitors should note that while the park features clear roads, the entrance includes speed bumps and natural terrain, so those with low-clearance vehicles are encouraged to navigate with care.
The services offered at Waterfalls Campsite focus on providing the essential utilities needed for a comfortable outdoor stay without compromising the park's rustic integrity. The facility is a "cash-only" establishment, a policy that reinforces its old-school, traditional charm, so guests are encouraged to prepare accordingly before arrival. From basic primitive sites to those with modern hookups, the service model is designed to be flexible for various camping styles. Management is notably attentive, with a hands-on approach that ensures rules regarding quiet hours and cleanliness are upheld for the benefit of all guests.

The affordable rates—starting at approximately $35 per night for a basic site for four people—make it one of the most accessible ways for New York families to enjoy the outdoors. Furthermore, the park is worth choosing for its uncompromising cleanliness and respect for the environment. The owners' dedication to keeping the park "slob-free" ensures that the natural beauty of the waterfalls remains the primary focus of your trip. Whether you are a solo traveler seeking a tranquil spot for reflection or a parent wanting to introduce your children to the joys of fishing and hiking without modern distractions, Waterfalls Campsite provides a foundation of reliability and beauty. Wanted to add this fact, I noticed when finding this camp it's saying different prices offered through travel sites. These prices are not accurate at all. For a tent site it costs $30 a night for 4 people and they do allow small dogs. Each additional head is $5. A full week at a basic site is $180, month is $550, with electric and water it's $35 a night or $210 a week. They are a cash only facility, so do NOT go with credit and debit cards.Absolutely amazing, quiet experience. The person on site greeted me warmly, very friendly. Bathrooms are conveniently placed around the park, and also the bathrooms were very clean and neat. Roads are cleared of debris, if you have a low vehicle there are a few speed bumps on entrance which can Definitely catch ya off guard, and a few ruts and divots in the grounds but nothing serious, just pay attention if you have a low vehicle. The Camp it self is very quiet, everyone was very respectful, the rules of the park are simple and easy, basically don't be a slob, don't be disruptive, and respect the surroundings. Will definitely be returning frequently this year.
It is a pretty campground, but it had no place for trash, they said they had wifi but it didn't work most of the time and no phone service!! They said they had seasonal rates but when we got there they said they didn't and charged us full price and we talked to people who paid seasonal rates. Then they sprang an electric bill on us when she told us we were paid in full! My daughter and her boyfriend came to stay for 2 nights with us and they charged her 40$ when it was suppose to be 5$ per person. Even though they stayed in our camper. And we also took in two more campers and they did that to us!! We won't be going back or giving any recommendations!
Beautiful view, my husband & I picked a great spot to stay the night, great office.. definitely going back to camp again……
Nice, clean and quiet.
