Situated in the scenic landscape of Hesston, Pennsylvania, this campground serves as a perfect home base for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and travelers looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Raystown Lake region. The resort is designed to provide a quiet, family-oriented atmosphere where the focus is on the serenity of the woods and the proximity to Pennsylvania's largest lake.

The resort specializes in providing a comfortable and structured camping experience. Unlike more primitive sites, Woodland Camping Resort focuses on providing well-maintained accommodations that cater to modern needs while preserving the authentic feel of the Pennsylvania wilderness. Whether you are arriving with a large RV or looking to stay in one of their specialized cabin rentals, the layout of the park emphasizes privacy and easy access to the surrounding forest trails and water activities.

Location and accessibility are among the strongest suits of this destination. Woodland Camping Resort is conveniently located on Bakers Hollow Road, placing guests just one mile from the entrance of the Seven Points Recreation Area. This strategic position allows visitors to enjoy the vast amenities of Raystown Lake—including swimming beaches, boat launches, and marinas—without being in the middle of the high-traffic public park areas. Services offered at Woodland Camping Resort are designed to accommodate various camping styles, ranging from seasonal residents to nightly visitors. The facility provides a range of hookup options and rental units to ensure that every guest has what they need for a successful stay. Please note that the resort focuses on vehicle and cabin camping rather than traditional primitive tent sites.

  • Full hookup RV sites featuring 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service.

What is worth choosing when it comes to Woodland Camping Resort is the specific balance it strikes between convenience and seclusion. While many public campgrounds can become crowded and noisy, Woodland maintains a reputation for being a "nice, quiet little family campground." It is the ideal choice for travelers who want to spend their days "activating" their vacation—hiking the mountains, biking the Allegrippis trails, or kayaking the lake—but want to return to a calm and orderly environment in the evening.

The "Double Cabin" option is particularly worth choosing for those who value shared experiences without sacrificing personal space. These units provide a kitchen, full-size refrigerator, and bathroom facilities, making them much more comfortable than a standard rustic cabin. Additionally, for mountain bikers, the ability to ride directly from the campground to the trailheads is a significant benefit that saves time and logistics. By choosing Woodland Camping Resort, you are opting for a well-managed gateway to one of Pennsylvania's most beautiful natural recreation areas, supported by friendly staff and a community of like-minded campers who appreciate the quiet beauty of the woods.

It's not the closest camping to the mountain biking trails at Raystown Lake, but it's definitely nice, and has some decent hiking trails, a beautiful stream, and lake access.
