Barker's Village Introduce

Barker's Village is a well-established residential community specifically designed for adults aged 55 and over who are looking for a serene and manageable lifestyle in the heart of Ocean County, New Jersey. This mobile home park has earned a reputation among local residents as a "hidden gem" due to its quiet atmosphere and tight-knit community feel. Managed by the Garden Homes Management Corporation, the park maintains a professional standard that ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all who reside there. For those seeking to transition into a more efficient living space without sacrificing the comforts of a traditional home, Barker's Village offers an ideal solution.

The community is comprised of a mix of classic manufactured homes and newer, modern units, providing a range of options for different budgets and preferences. Residents often highlight the peaceful nature of the neighborhood, where the sounds of the surrounding area are minimal and the pace of life is relaxed. The management focuses on maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the park, ensuring that common areas and individual lots are kept in good condition. This commitment to quality makes Barker's Village not just a place to live, but a place where residents can truly feel a sense of pride in their neighborhood.

Location and accessibility are two of the most significant advantages of choosing Barker's Village. Situated at 111 Brown Ave in the borough of Lakehurst, the park is positioned in a way that provides both privacy and convenience. Lakehurst itself is a historic area known for its unique character and natural beauty. Residents benefit from being just minutes away from major thoroughfares, including the Garden State Parkway and Route 70, which makes traveling to other parts of New Jersey or neighboring states straightforward and efficient. Despite this connectivity, the park feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of more densely populated urban centers.

For daily needs, the location is exceptionally convenient. Within a short five-minute drive, residents can access a variety of supermarkets, local restaurants, and essential retail stores. This proximity ensures that running errands is never a chore. Additionally, the park is located near beautiful local parks and Horicon Lake, which features scenic walking paths and peaceful areas for reflection or light recreation. The community's location strikes a perfect balance for those who want to remain active in the local area while having a quiet retreat to return to at the end of the day.

  • Professional on-site management and maintenance services provided by Garden Homes Management.
  • Curbside trash and recycling collection for all residents.
  • Individual lot leasing with clear, transparent terms.
  • Snow removal for community streets to ensure safe travel during winter months.
  • Natural gas utility service, a rare and highly valued feature for mobile home parks in the region.
  • Public water and sewer connections managed through the local utility infrastructure.
  • Regular community communications and updates from the leasing office.

Barker's Village stands out in the New Jersey manufactured housing market due to several unique highlights that enhance the resident experience. One of the most notable features is the availability of natural gas service. While many mobile home communities rely on propane or electric heating, the integration of natural gas at Barker's Village provides residents with a more cost-effective and efficient energy source for heating and cooking. This feature is often cited by residents as a major factor in their decision to move to the park.

  • Designated 55+ age-restricted community ensuring a quiet and mature living environment.
  • Close proximity to Horicon Lake and local park facilities, ideal for walking and nature viewing.
  • A pet-friendly environment, though specific breed restrictions (such as German Shepherds) are in place to maintain safety.
  • Spacious open-concept home layouts available in newer units, often featuring modern appliances and finishes.
  • Well-lit streets and a layout that promotes a safe and walkable neighborhood.
  • Close to major shopping hubs in Manchester and Toms River for expanded retail options.
  • Historical charm of the Lakehurst borough, adding a unique sense of place.

If you are interested in exploring the lifestyle offered at Barker's Village, the management office is available to answer questions regarding current availability, lot rents, and the application process. My husband and I moved here a few months ago. We love love this peaceful neighborhood. The neighbors we have met are very pleasant. Supermarket and restaurants are only a short 5 minute drive to. The beautiful lake and park is great to take our grandson to and take walks with our dogs. So happy we chose this neighborhood and recommend to others who are looking for a beautiful peaceful neighborhood to move to.

It's a mobile home park. Some newer places from what I saw, but mostly older ones. Fairly new place that I looked at was available for $975/month. Also the ONLY mobile home that I've ever seen that has natural gas service! Big plus! Unfortunately they don't allow my German Shepherd Dog as it's on the prohibited breed list.
