Bayshore Campgrounds Introduce
For Maryland residents and visitors seeking a tranquil escape to the legendary Eastern Shore, Bayshore Campgrounds offers an unparalleled opportunity to camp directly on the edge of the Chesapeake Bay. Located in the charming maritime town of Rock Hall, this campground is a favorite for those who value peace, quiet, and breathtaking natural scenery. Known for its elevated position approximately one story above sea level, the park provides a constant, refreshing bay breeze and some of the most spectacular sunset views in the entire state. Whether you are looking for a weekend of bonding by the water or a long-term seasonal retreat, Bayshore Campgrounds serves as a premier destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
The atmosphere at Bayshore is intentionally relaxed and family-oriented. Spanning 60 scenic acres, the grounds are meticulously manicured and shaded by mature trees, creating a park-like setting that feels both private and welcoming. The community is tight-knit, with many returning seasonal campers contributing to a friendly, neighborly environment. Unlike larger, more commercialized resorts, Bayshore focuses on the simple joys of the Maryland outdoors—fishing in stocked ponds, watching bald eagles soar overhead, and enjoying clear, star-filled nights away from the city lights. It is a place where time slows down, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the coastal lifestyle that defines Kent County.
Location and accessibility are major draws for local Marylanders. Situated at 4228 Eastern Neck Rd, Rock Hall, MD 21661, USA, the campground is perfectly positioned between the historic village of Rock Hall and the Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge. This strategic location means that while you are tucked away in a serene waterfront enclave, you are only three miles south of the "Pearl of the Chesapeake," where you can enjoy local seafood, shopping, and marinas. To the south, the wildlife refuge offers miles of nature trails and world-class birdwatching, all within a five-minute drive from your campsite.
The facility is designed to be inclusive and easy to navigate for all guests. It features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, accessible parking lots, and accessible restroom facilities, ensuring that the beauty of the bay is reachable for everyone. The entrance is well-marked, and the internal roads provide smooth access to a variety of site types. For those arriving with large rigs, the park offers spacious pull-through sites and big-rig accommodations. Furthermore, the convenience of onsite parking and a free parking lot for guests makes hosting friends or family for a day visit simple and stress-free.

The features and highlights of Bayshore Campgrounds are centered on its unique geography and commitment to family fun. The most prominent highlight is the waterfront access. While there is not a large swimming beach, the shoreline at low tide is a treasure hunter's dream, often yielding sea glass, driftwood, and even prehistoric arrowheads. For those who prefer active recreation, the park includes a basketball court, volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. The sunsets here are a daily event, with campers often gathering at the water's edge to watch the sky turn vibrant shades of orange and pink over the Chesapeake Bay.
Children will find plenty to do with a playground and ample open space for biking and exploration. The campground is also a haven for pet owners; the inclusion of a dedicated dog park ensures that four-legged family members have a safe place to run and play. For the avid fisherman, the two on-site ponds are stocked and provide a perfect, low-stakes environment for teaching kids how to fish or for enjoying a quiet afternoon by the water. The combination of well-manicured green spaces and rugged waterfront terrain makes every corner of the park a potential highlight of your stay.

What is worth choosing about Bayshore Campgrounds is the sheer authenticity of the experience. For a local Marylander, it represents the quintessential Eastern Shore getaway—unpretentious, naturally beautiful, and deeply peaceful. It is worth choosing because it offers one of the few places where you can park your RV just steps from the bay's edge for a reasonable fee. The lack of constant "organized" activities is actually one of its greatest strengths, as it encourages guests to create their own adventures, whether that means a day of crabbing in Rock Hall or a quiet morning of birdwatching from their own picnic table.
Furthermore, the park’s commitment to cleanliness and maintenance is evident in every well-mown field and tidy campsite. While it retains a rustic charm with portable facilities in some areas, the upcoming planned upgrades to the bathhouse and the constant improvements by the owners show a dedication to guest comfort. Choosing Bayshore means choosing a place where the main attraction is the environment itself. It is a destination where you can disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with the people who matter most, all while enjoying the very best views the Chesapeake Bay has to offer. For those who seek the "Real Maryland," Bayshore Campgrounds is a choice you will likely return to year after year.

Customer Reviews
Nice campground. There were a lot of nice spots, and lots of trees for shade. It was extremely quiet which was relaxing. We had a 30 second walk to the water for some fishing and bonding time with my son. Great view of the bay and a nice breeze. Night time was also extremely quiet with a great view of the stars. Trips to.town were quick or head south for more views and fishing. Everyone there was very friendly. We will definitely be returning.
Absolutely Gorgeous place to put your camper, right at the waters edge. Friendly staff and wonderful neighbors too. Peace and serene environment. Only draw back was there's no rest rooms/powder room to shower. They have placed portable potty around the camp. I will visit again, my babies loved the place...
We spent Friday through Sunday at bayshore and really enjoyed it. Very quiet and laid back. You have to be self contained which is no problem for us. Just a short drive to rock hall to visit shops, restaurants, farmers market etc. Will definitely be back! Thank you Bayshore!
The sites were very adequate for our needs for our time here. The staff is very attentive. It is in a great location and proximity to many of the areas in part of Maryland. There are no restrooms here so you need to be self contained. They are right on the water. Our site was about 80 yards from the water. We will be back in the future.
The campground was nice, our spot was a premium water front spot with excellent views, but just as with every campground/ RV resort you have built in neighbors and on Saturday evening our neighbors had invited 50 of their closest friends for a party, instantly turned the place into a carnival scene..
