Brokenstraw Valley Campsites, affectionately known by many long-time visitors as "The Straw," stands as a premier destination for travelers and local residents alike who are looking to trade the noise of the city for the rustle of cornfields and the gentle pace of rural life. Whether you are a weekend warrior or someone looking for a more permanent seasonal retreat, this location provides a welcoming environment where the community spirit is as strong as the surrounding natural beauty.

Brokenstraw Valley Campsites is more than just a place to stay; it is a gateway to the "PA Wilds." The atmosphere here is intentionally relaxed, designed for families who want to unplug and reconnect. Surrounded by the rolling landscapes of Warren County, the park is famous for its proximity to local Amish communities, adding a layer of cultural charm to every visit. On quiet weekday mornings, the only sound you might hear is the occasional horse and buggy passing by on the nearby roads. This sense of peace and tranquility makes it a standout choice for Pennsylvanians who appreciate the simpler things in life, from crackling campfires to stargazing under some of the darkest skies in the eastern United States. It is a place where neighbors become friends and where the management treats every guest like a member of the family.

What is Worth Choosing

Choosing Brokenstraw Valley Campsites is a decision to embrace the authentic Pennsylvania lifestyle. What truly sets this campground apart is the balance it strikes between affordability and quality. While many modern "resort" campgrounds can feel crowded and commercial, "The Straw" maintains a classic, grassroots feel that many local campers find refreshing. The prices are notably fair, allowing families to enjoy longer stays without breaking the bank. The facility’s commitment to cleanliness, particularly in the restrooms and showers, ensures that even though you are in the heart of nature, you don't have to sacrifice basic comforts. For parents, the safety and simplicity of the park are major draws; kids can ride their bikes freely and meet new friends at the playground, allowing mom and dad a rare moment of true relaxation.

Furthermore, the local culture is a significant part of the draw. We love staying here. The prices are very fair, the restrooms and shower facilities are basic but kept clean. It is relatively quiet and surrounded by cornfields and Amish! Make sure you go across the street for fresh made Amish donuts and baked goods Saturday morning! The play ground is outdated, but sufficient. My kids love every second of staying here. They ride their bikes, find kids to play with (on the weekends), and mom and dad can relax because it is quiet! There are lots of "permanent " spots. During the week, it is soooo quiet which we love! There is a pavilion you can rent for small events too at a reasonable rate.
