Brown's Campground Introduce

Brown's Campground, located in the heart of Altmar, New York, serves as a quintessential retreat for outdoor enthusiasts and dedicated anglers alike. Known officially as Brown’s Camping & Fishing Facilities, LLC, this family-owned and operated destination has been a staple of the Upstate New York camping scene since the early 1970s. For New Yorkers looking to escape the bustle of the city or suburban life, this campground offers a serene gateway to the natural wonders of Oswego County. Originally established by Dugal and Sonja Brown on their own land, the site has grown through generations, maintaining a tradition where children who once visited with their parents now return to share the experience with their own families.

The atmosphere at Brown's Campground is characterized by a unique blend of professional hospitality and a friendly, "home-away-from-home" feel. Visitors consistently praise the hands-on management style of the current owners, Pete and Monica, who are known for going above and beyond to ensure every guest has a comfortable stay. Whether you are arriving for the legendary salmon run or simply seeking a quiet weekend under the stars, the campground provides a well-organized environment that balances recreation with relaxation. Again the brown family camp ground made our 10day stay memorable. This is the fourth time we have stayed there and they treated us as if we were family. Even in a storm Mr Brown went around making sure everyone was safe. Best camp ground I have ever stayed at.
