Never went to "camp carol" and will be experiencing lakeside Haven in the coming week. It was purchased by my aunt and father and renamed Lakeside Haven cottages not tonlong before this camping season started. This is their first year as owners, but I'm sure anyone's stay will be a good one. Yes, they are new to "the business," but I'm positive they will do the best they can to make sure everyone has an enjoyable stay. With improvements to come throughout the coming years, I am excited for them to be on this journey.
We have been coming here for yrs ! Great cabins !
Awesome upstate New York getaway! Very peaceful and not over crowded. All the cabins are brand new and very nice! Most have screened front porches with excellent views of the lake. Black lake is known for very good bass fishing and pan fishing as well as northern pike too! I've been camping here for 20 years now and i still get excited every weekend to come to the lake!
We came back to Black Lake 30 years after staying at Cozy Cottages as a kid and young adults. I could not have picked a better place than Camp Carol. They (Bob and Ann) treat us like family. The place is second to none in every aspect. I highly recommend them.
My name is BJ ONeill, my father Patrick was friends with Ray and Mary Loucks for 40 years before my first visit at 3- we had a big old air streamer permanently on the camp grounds just below the big house on the hill. . My first fishing trip to Camp Carol was in 1963 It was May and I turned 3 years old in Aug.! I fished at Camp Carol for the next 14 years under the ownership of Ray and Mary as they were my surrogate Grandparents. I caught minnows spent evenings collecting earth worms went fishing with Grandpa Loucks did laundry in an old ringer washer and baked biscuits with Grandma Loucks. I bailed boats with their Grandson Jimmy and it was my favorite place to be in the world as a child. I remember the first year after they purchased the camp from Ray and Mary and failed to make payments made drastic changes to the camp and were rude and arrogant especially the new owners wife! my parents stopped going there after that! WHAT BOTHERS ME IS THAT I am 61 and they say they have owned Camp Carol for 60+ years, THAT IS AN ABSOLUTE LIE!I was around 16 or 17 when they purchased the camp taking advantage of two old people who worked many many years to build up the camps reputation and were both loved by many many people!I have known them to be what Grandpa Loucks called them as“ shysters” or “ con artists”. I dont care if they became successful or not or even if they are liked but to lie in their advertisement pisses me off to no end! BE HONEST, I remember Grandpa Loucks saying he should have never sold his beloved camp to them!!!Remember the law of nature is what goes around comes around and a liar is always a liar!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!!————————————Misleading Advertising Legal? The FTC Act prohibits unfair or deceptive advertising in any medium. That is, advertising must tell the truth and not mislead consumers.
