Nestled on the hillside above the western shores of Keuka Lake, this small, family-run campground provides a tranquil alternative to the larger, more crowded commercial resorts in the area. With its lush landscape of rolling hills and dense woodlands, Camp Elmbois is designed for travelers who appreciate a quiet atmosphere where the sounds of nature take center stage. The campground is known for its personal touch, managed by on-site owners who prioritize cleanliness and guest satisfaction. The property features a private feel with spacious sites that aren't overcrowded, making it a favorite for couples, retirees, and families alike. While it provides a rustic charm, it doesn't skimp on the essentials that modern campers expect. From the meticulously kept bathhouse to the peaceful fishing ponds, every aspect of Camp Elmbois is curated to provide a restorative stay in one of the most picturesque parts of the state.
Location and accessibility are major draws for Camp Elmbois. Situated at 8464 County Road 77 in Hammondsport, NY, the campground is just a ten-minute drive from the historic village center. For those navigating larger vehicles, the park offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot, along with wide, level sites that can accommodate rigs up to 40 feet in length. The drive to the campground itself is scenic, following the winding back roads that define the Finger Lakes countryside, yet it remains easily reachable from major regional hubs like Rochester, Ithaca, and Elmira.

When deciding where to stay in the Finger Lakes, Camp Elmbois is worth choosing for several key reasons. First and foremost is its reputation for peace and quiet. Unlike parks that cater to high-energy crowds, this campground is a sanctuary for those who want to disconnect. The "family-run" aspect means that you aren't just a reservation number; the owners are often seen around the park, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and that the facilities remain in top-tier condition. The cleanliness of the restrooms and showers is frequently cited by regulars as some of the best they have encountered on the road.
Additionally, the value proposition is hard to beat. The inclusion of free pedal boats and the proximity to the Keuka Lake wine trail provide built-in entertainment without the need for additional travel or high costs. For RVers, the pull-through sites and easy-to-use dump station simplify the technical side of camping. Whether you are looking for a base to explore the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum, a spot to fish with your kids, or a quiet corner to sip a bottle of local Riesling, Camp Elmbois offers the perfect blend of convenience, charm, and natural beauty. It is a place where many families have started traditions, and it continues to be a top recommendation for anyone looking for an authentic New York camping experience.

What a lovely campground in the Finger Lakes! We travel full time with a 40' fifth wheel and 3 kids, so we usually stay at spots that have FHU (including sewer), but I'm so glad we ended up staying here! We were close proximity to Hammondsport and several great wineries. Our kids loved the well-equipped playground and the complimentary peddle boats, and we met a bunch of very nice people. Highly recommend this campground!
Amazing family run camp, small but peaceful and quiet. Clean bathroom with showers. Electric and water hookup. Dump station with hoses attached. No digging out your hoses. Highly recommend. We have been there twice. It is convenient to Point of the Bluffs Winery and concert venue.
Beautiful campground. Owners were very friendly and great hosts. Small and cozy campground with 2 lovely large ponds. Very quiet and well maintained. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, near wineries, antique shops and Keuka Lake.
We planned a trip to the Point of the Bluff Winery to see a concert. We wanted to bring our travel trailer, stay a few days and enjoy the Finger Lake area. We just happened to find Camp Elmbois which is a short distance from Point of The Bluff Winery. What a perfect camping experience. The owners are super kind, friendly and helpful people. The campground is such a beautiful, peaceful and natural place. Most of the sites are around two good sized ponds. The sites are spacious and equipped with water and electric. The bath/shower rooms are very nice and clean! We look forward to the rest of our stay and we look forward to returning.
Nice but not a whole lot to do. In the middle of nowhere but a short drive to Hammondsport and some local wineries. Spots were spacious and the owners were very nice. Playground was mediocre but we seemed to have the only child there.
