Cherry Hill Campground Introduce

For travelers and Maryland locals alike, Cherry Hill Campground—widely known as Cherry Hill Park—stands as the premier gateway to the nation's capital and the surrounding Maryland suburbs. This family-owned and operated destination has been a staple of the College Park community since 1921, evolving over five generations from a humble poultry farm into one of the most highly decorated RV resorts in the United States. It is renowned for its perfect balance of professional hospitality and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, making it a top choice for those who want a resort-style experience while remaining close to the heart of the action.

The campground is designed to serve as a comprehensive "home base" for visitors. Whether you are a local resident looking for a fun staycation during the fall festivities or a traveler seeking a convenient spot to park an RV while exploring the Smithsonian museums, Cherry Hill Campground offers a level of cleanliness and organization that is rarely matched. The park is famous for its "tidy" appearance, with level sites and well-maintained facilities that ensure every guest feels comfortable from the moment they check in.

Location is perhaps the greatest asset of Cherry Hill Campground. Situated in College Park, it is the closest RV park to Washington, D.C., providing an unparalleled advantage for sightseeing. The accessibility is enhanced by a unique transit partnership; a Metrobus stops directly inside the campground, whisking guests away to the College Park-U of MD Metro station. This allows visitors to enjoy the city without the stress of navigating urban traffic or finding expensive parking. Additionally, its proximity to I-95 and the Capital Beltway (I-495) makes it easy to reach from any direction in the Maryland region.

The services offered at Cherry Hill Campground go far beyond basic camping. The staff provides concierge-level assistance, including daily sightseeing sessions where guests can learn the best "tips and tricks" for navigating Washington, D.C. This commitment to guest education and service is a hallmark of the Gurevich family’s management style.

What makes Cherry Hill Campground worth choosing is its reputation for excellence and its strategic convenience. It has been named a "Campground of the Year" multiple times by national organizations, a testament to its consistent quality. While it is an urban campground located near major highways—meaning some road noise is expected—the benefits far outweigh any minor drawbacks. The level of security, the professionalism of the staff, and the sheer number of amenities available on-site make it a "one-stop shop" for any traveler.

For families, the value is in the details. The bathrooms are famously "clean as a whistle," and the multiple playgrounds ensure that children have a safe place to play within sight of the sites. For those visiting during the fall or winter, the park remains open year-round, offering a cozy retreat during the quieter months. Whether you are planning an educational trip to the capital or simply want a well-run Maryland campground with a great pool and mini-golf for the kids, Cherry Hill Park is the gold standard for the region.

We've been here multiple times over the years in the fall and it is always clean, well-run, and fun! The mini golf course is nice and so are the playgrounds. There is even an outdoor exercise equipment area.Very close to DC and convenient for day trips as the metrobus stops at the campground. We look forward to returning!
