Conewago Campground Introduce

Conewago Campground is a cherished outdoor destination located in the heart of Biglerville, Pennsylvania. Known for its tranquil atmosphere and deep-rooted family traditions, this campground offers a classic Pennsylvania camping experience that has spanned generations. Situated along the scenic banks of the Conewago Creek, the property provides a lush, green escape where the sounds of flowing water and rustling leaves replace the noise of daily life. It is a place where history meets nature, offering a sanctuary for those looking to reconnect with the outdoors in a simple and meaningful way.

The spirit of Conewago Campground is defined by its long-standing community. Many families have made it their summer home for decades, passing down the tradition of "creekside living" from grandparents to grandchildren. This sense of continuity creates a welcoming, neighborhood-like environment where neighbors look out for one another and the management treats every guest like a member of the family. Whether you are arriving for a weekend getaway or a seasonal stay, the campground’s commitment to maintaining a quiet, picturesque setting ensures that your time spent here is restorative and memorable.

Located at 1507 Narrows Rd, Biglerville, PA 17307, the campground is perfectly positioned for both seclusion and accessibility. Biglerville is famously known as the heart of Pennsylvania's apple country, and the drive to the campground takes you through rolling hills and expansive orchards that are beautiful in every season. While the site feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle, it is only a short drive from major historic landmarks, including the Gettysburg National Military Park. The local roads are well-maintained, making it accessible for a variety of camping setups, from traditional tents to larger travel trailers and motorhomes.

  • Spacious RV sites designed to accommodate various sizes of rigs and trailers.
  • Dedicated tent camping areas for those seeking a more traditional outdoor experience.
  • Clean and well-maintained restroom and shower facilities for guest comfort.
  • Access to potable running water throughout the campground area.
  • Trash disposal services to help maintain the cleanliness of the natural environment.
  • On-site management available to assist with check-in and local recommendations.
  • Fire rings and picnic tables provided at individual campsites for outdoor dining and campfires.

The highlights of Conewago Campground revolve around its natural features and family-centric amenities. The Conewago Creek is the star of the show, providing not only a picturesque backdrop but also opportunities for light recreation. Guests often enjoy wading in the shallow waters, fishing for local species, or simply sitting by the bank with a good book. The campground is intentionally kept simple to preserve the "unplugged" feeling that modern campers crave. For children, the open spaces and natural terrain provide a safe and expansive "playground" where they can explore the wonders of the Pennsylvania countryside.

  • Picturesque streamside campsites that offer a soothing and quiet environment.
  • Pet-friendly policies that welcome dogs, ensuring the whole family can travel together.
  • Expansive grassy areas perfect for lawn games, picnics, and social gatherings.
  • Abundant wildlife viewing opportunities, from local bird species to deer in the surrounding woods.
  • Close proximity to local orchards and farm markets for fresh, seasonal Pennsylvania produce.
  • A family-friendly atmosphere that is particularly well-suited for children and multi-generational groups.
  • Access to the nearby Conewago Mountains for hiking and exploring local flora and fauna.

For those interested in booking a stay or learning more about the current seasonal rates, the campground can be reached through their local office. What makes Conewago Campground worth choosing is its unwavering dedication to the traditional camping experience. In an era of large, commercialized RV resorts, Conewago stands out as a genuine "campground" in the truest sense of the word. It is worth choosing for the quiet—the kind of silence that is only broken by the sound of the stream or the crackle of a campfire. The reviews from long-time patrons speak volumes; when families return for three or four generations, it is a testament to the quality of the environment and the kindness of the people who run it.

Additionally, its location in Biglerville offers a unique cultural experience. You are minutes away from some of the best apple and peach orchards in the United States, providing a wonderful opportunity to integrate local flavors into your camp meals. The campground’s proximity to Gettysburg also makes it an excellent, low-stress home base for exploring American history without staying in the crowded downtown area. If you are looking for a place that is clean, quiet, and deeply connected to the natural beauty of Pennsylvania, Conewago Campground is a destination that delivers on its promise of a peaceful getaway.

  • Ideally suited for families looking for a safe and wholesome environment.
  • Excellent choice for anglers and nature photographers.
  • Affordable rates that make long-term seasonal stays an attractive option.
  • A welcoming community of fellow campers and outdoor enthusiasts.
  • Strategic location near major Pennsylvania tourism hubs while remaining secluded.

Been going every summer since before I can even remember. Even before me, my father as well as his father have been going for probably close to an entire lifetime. Wonderful place, wonderful people, all around a fantastic place that nobody should even think twice about reserving a spot at, you'll love it guaranteed.

I've been camping for over 40 years, and this family owned campground is amazing. No frills, but perfect. Clean bath houses, awesome trout stream and a very nice pond. Only 15 minutes from Gettysburg. Five stars!

Excellent place for a relaxing getaway. Owners are fabulous people. Campsites are a generous size. If you're looking for a high-end, luxury campground, this isn't it. If you're looking for relaxing evenings by the fire, hearing the creek and waterfalls behind you with little to no interruptions - then this is the place for you.Lots of shade onsite but plenty of open sunny spaces to play and hang out.We were weekend campers for a few years and last season we got a seasonal site. We're looking forward to year 2 by the creek.

We can't say enough about this family campground. Fishing, swimming in creek, camp fires, walks with our doggies, and bring your bike to ride.
