Glamping Clear Spring Maryland 3-Cabin Campground Introduce
For Maryland residents seeking an escape from the frantic pace of the Baltimore and Washington D.C. metropolitan areas, Glamping Clear Spring Maryland 3-Cabin Campground—also known as Timber Valley Retreat—offers a unique and secluded sanctuary. Unlike traditional public campgrounds where sites are packed closely together, this destination provides an exclusive "private campground" experience. When you book a stay here, you aren't just renting a room; you are securing the entire gated facility for your family or group. This concept of private glamping has become a favorite for Marylanders looking for the rustic charm of the Appalachian Valley combined with the modern comforts of a high-end rental.
Situated on a sprawling 100-acre farm, the campground is designed to facilitate "digital detox" and deep family connection. The atmosphere is often described by local visitors as magical and enchanted, featuring ancient hardwoods and a meticulously maintained landscape. The property owners, Tom and Karen, have cultivated a space that honors the agricultural heritage of Western Maryland while providing the amenities necessary for a comfortable outdoor stay. From the "enchanted forest" trails to the spring-fed pond, every inch of the property is curated to help guests reconnect with nature without the typical stressors of primitive camping.
Location and Accessibility are standout features for this Clear Spring gem. Located at 12731 Big Pool Rd, Clear Spring, MD 21722, the campground is easily reached via I-70, making it a convenient weekend destination for those traveling from Frederick, Hagerstown, or even across the state line from Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The entrance features a charming two-track farm road that sets the tone for a secluded getaway. The property is positioned at a prime spot in Washington County, sitting just a short three-minute walk from the historic C&O Canal and the Potomac River. This proximity allows local outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy the state's best hiking and water activities without ever needing to move their car once they have arrived.

What is worth choosing when planning your stay at this Clear Spring retreat? For families with children, Tanner's Bunkhouse is the definitive choice due to its adventurous loft spaces which provide a "secret" hideaway for younger campers. If you are traveling with a furry companion, Jake's Bunkhouse is highly recommended; it was specifically designed with a built-in luxury dog bed so your pet can sleep comfortably right next to you. For larger gatherings like family reunions or wedding parties, choosing to rent all three cabins ensures total privacy and a cohesive "base camp" environment. Additionally, it is highly worth choosing to participate in the "wagon ride" offered by the hosts, as it provides a wonderful perspective on the 100-acre farm's history and the surrounding Western Maryland landscape.
Beyond the immediate campground, the surrounding area offers a wealth of Maryland history and recreation. Visitors often spend their mornings walking the towpath of the C&O Canal, exploring the limestone outcroppings, or visiting nearby Fort Frederick to see 18th-century frontier history come to life. The blend of high-end glamping amenities—like the plush beds and climate control—with the rugged beauty of the Appalachian Valley makes this campground a premier choice for those who want to experience the "great outdoors" without sacrificing a good night's sleep. Whether you are hosting a girl's reading retreat, a youth group outing, or a multi-generational family milestone, this Clear Spring destination provides the privacy and professional service that Marylanders have come to expect from top-tier local businesses.
The commitment to cleanliness and hospitality is a recurring theme in guest reviews, with many noting that the cabins feel more like boutique hotel rooms than traditional camp structures. The inclusion of high-quality linens, well-marked amenities, and a fully equipped kitchen ensures that you spend less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying the sunset over the Potomac. For any local looking for a "staycation" that feels worlds away from the city, the Glamping Clear Spring Maryland 3-Cabin Campground stands out as a hidden gem in Washington County.

This place is magical to say the least! And the hospitality is second to none! We had an amazing stay! Beautiful, tidy, comfy and a little bit enchanted!
I am sorry I did not review this sooner but here goes. From the time we stepped onto the property till we left we felt welcomed. Tom was a great host. The amenities were too many to list. So much room and comfortable for our extended family getaway over the 4th of July. Thanks for a great time. Hope to see you again.
I cannot say enough good things about this lovely camping area and the amazing people who run it! Gorgeous outdoor area perfect for a relaxing getaway! The facilities are super clean and well cared for. All the benefits of enjoying the outdoors, s'mores and stories over a campfire, hiking, hanging out by the pond etc.. but also with the perks of going to sleep in a clean cabin with A/C, a flushing toilet nearby, a full kitchen for your convenience and even a shower area that has excellent water pressure and hot water. The fact it is kid and pet friendly is a huge bonus. A little playground with swings, a couple of relaxing hammocks to nap or read a book and you don’t even have to leave Fido at home to enjoy it all!
Our stay at Timber valley was amazing beyond our expectations! We rented out the campsite from Friday night until Sunday morning for our wedding celebration. The campsite was clean, well-maintained and secluded. The cabins exceeded our expectations and we even convinced friends to camp for their very first time.Tom was always a phone call away for picking us up on the side by side or letting us know it was time for the wagon ride. We can not wait to book another weekend here!
We had the greatest time with family and friends celebrating my birthday. Karen and Tom were the nicest and most hospitable hosts that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. From hanging out with their friendly pups, to taking the kids on a gator ride around their beautiful property, or giving us a walking tour of the grounds, Tom and Karen were the best! You can tell they take a lot of care and pride in making you feel right at home. There is so much to do! From playing in the pond on the boat, the walk through the 'Enchanted Forest', the abundance of wildlife, a relaxing river walk, sitting around the huge firepit, the playground for the kids, the comfortable and plentiful chairs on the deck, or the comfy and clean cabins with a.c., you will feel relaxed and at peace! I can't wait to go back and feel like Tom and Karen are now extended family!
