Green Acres Glampground Introduce

For Pennsylvania residents seeking a restorative escape that combines the rugged beauty of the PA Wilds with the comfort of a boutique hotel, Green Acres Glampground stands as a premier destination. Located in the serene landscape of North Bend, this 20-acre property offers a unique "glamorous camping" experience designed to help guests disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature. Nestled along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, the glampground provides a picturesque setting where the morning mist over the water and the vast, unpolluted night skies create a sense of magic and tranquility. It is an ideal retreat for couples looking for a romantic getaway, families wanting a safe outdoor adventure, or individuals seeking a spiritual recharge in one of the most scenic regions of the Commonwealth.

The philosophy at Green Acres Glampground is centered on "slowing down." The property is thoughtfully developed to preserve the natural meadow and forest environment, featuring beautifully mowed paths that lead guests through wildflowers to the river's edge. Whether you are staying in one of their expertly decorated stargazing bell tents or bringing your own home-on-wheels to a private RV lot, the emphasis remains on high-quality aesthetics and peace. As a local business in Clinton County, Green Acres has quickly become a "hidden gem" for Pennsylvanians who want to experience the grandeur of the mountains without the crowded, commercial feel of larger state-run campgrounds.

Green Acres Glampground is situated on Green Acres Lane in North Bend, PA 17760. This location puts it in the heart of the Susquehannock State Forest region, approximately halfway between Lock Haven and Renovo. For travelers coming from Central Pennsylvania hubs like State College or Williamsport, the drive is remarkably scenic, following the winding river valleys and lush mountain ridges. The accessibility of the site is excellent for a variety of vehicles; the property features a circular driveway and on-site parking, making it easy for RV owners and car campers to navigate their way to their designated spots without the stress of narrow, overgrown backroads.

While the setting feels delightfully remote, the glampground is conveniently positioned just a short drive from major recreational landmarks. It is less than 15 minutes away from Hyner View State Park, famous for its breathtaking overlook of the Susquehanna River and its reputation as a launching point for hang gliders. This proximity allows guests to spend their day exploring the high-elevation vistas and return to the low-elevation riverbanks for a quiet evening fire. For those coming from further afield, such as Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, Green Acres serves as a perfect gateway to the "Dark Skies" region, offering a level of accessibility that makes even a weekend trip feel substantial and rewarding.

  • Stargazing Bell Tents: Fully furnished luxury tents featuring plush mattresses, premium linens, fluffy pillows, and stylish rugs for a "cosy" hotel-like feel in the woods.
  • Private RV Sites: Spacious, concreted pads (up to 35 feet) offering full hookups, including mountain spring water, electricity, sewer, and high-speed Wi-Fi.
  • Clean Public Facilities: Well-maintained restrooms and public showers with excellent hot water pressure, conveniently located for all guests.
  • Riverside Access: Private paths leading to the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, perfect for fishing, kayaking, or quiet reflection by the water.
  • Outdoor Living Amenities: Each site is equipped with its own picnic table and fire pit, designed for traditional campfire cooking and evening relaxation.
  • Communal Spaces: Beautiful green paths, meadows filled with wildflowers, and a pond area suitable for reading or bird-watching.
  • Safety and Security: A well-lit, private property with on-site parking and responsive management to ensure a stress-free environment.

One of the primary features of Green Acres Glampground is the "Rivers Edge" experience. Guests can spend their afternoons lounging in hammocks set up right by the water, watching the gentle flow of the Susquehanna. The property’s access to the river makes it a prime spot for water-based activities; guests are encouraged to bring their own kayaks or tubes to float down the pristine river. Additionally, the glampground is a bird-watcher's paradise, with frequent sightings of bald eagles, cardinals, and ducks along the riverbanks. The "thoughtful touches" in the tents, such as solar-powered ambient lighting and cozy decor, elevate the experience beyond standard camping, making it feel like a curated outdoor retreat.

Another highlight is the campground's proximity to the Hyner View Mountain. In fact, if you hike or drive up to the Hyner View overlook, you can often spot the glampground nestled in the valley below. This visual connection to the surrounding topography adds a layer of depth to the stay. For families, the open acreage provides a safe space for children to explore nature without the hazards of high-speed traffic. The campground also caters to the growing community of "working nomads" by providing Wi-Fi at the RV sites, allowing you to take your office to the mountains without losing connectivity. The blend of modern luxury and raw natural beauty is what truly distinguishes this location from other spots in the PA Wilds.

  • Exceptional "Stargazing" opportunities due to the low light pollution in the North Bend area.
  • Proximity to Hyner Run and Hyner View State Parks for world-class hiking and hang gliding spectatorship.
  • Riverfront relaxation with private paths and a magical riverside atmosphere.
  • High-quality furnishings in glamping tents, including futons for extra lounging space and beautiful rugs.
  • Level, concreted RV pads that make setup a breeze for motorhomes and trailers.
  • A "kid-friendly" environment with plenty of room for running, playing, and learning about local wildlife.
  • On-site availability of mountain spring water, which guests frequently praise for its freshness and quality.

If you are looking to book a stay at this riverside haven, it is recommended to reach out to the management via their office or mobile lines. Because the glampground maintains a limited number of sites to ensure privacy and tranquility, booking in advance is highly suggested—especially during the "Flaming Foliage" season in the fall or the peak summer weekends.

In a world that is constantly "on," this glampground provides the physical and mental space to truly turn off. My husband and I spent the weekend here as a little getaway to slow down, connect with nature, each other, and with God—and it was everything we hoped for. The tent itself was so cozy and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches that made it feel both comfortable and special. We loved waking up to the quiet sounds of nature and ending our nights under the stars. The nearby state park was absolutely stunning—trails, views, and peaceful spots that made our time outdoors even more meaningful. It was the perfect setting to recharge, reflect, and really step away from the busyness of everyday life.We are so grateful for this experience and will definitely be back again! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for beauty, rest, and a place to truly connect.

I had such a relaxing stay at Green Acres Glampground! Not only are the tents beautiful the whole area is awesome!!! Relax down by the river, near your fire pit, or take a nice walk around the grounds, it’s all so beautiful 😊 During your stay if you’re looking for other things to check out in the area I recommend Hyner State Park just a 15 minute drive from the campsite to an awesome view where you can see the campground!!!

Awesome, quiet location right on the river. The tent was very nice and bed was comfortable. We loved sitting outside at night by the fire in our own little corner away from other campers. We will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Green Acres Glampground. It was our first glamping experience and we loved it. The Yurt was clean and so cute inside. The bed was very comfortable, though I was glad I had brought an extra blanket because it was a little chilly. I loved the solar lights at night, it made it so romantic and gave the yurt a lovely ambiance. The porta potty's were clean, and the shower was hot and had good pressure. All and all a great experience and look forward to booking another stay soon!
