Haneyville Campground Introduce
For Pennsylvania residents seeking a true escape into the rugged beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, Haneyville Campground serves as a vital gateway to the Pennsylvania Wilds. Located in the north-central region of the state, this campground offers a peaceful sanctuary for those who wish to trade the noise of the city for the whispering pines and crisp mountain air of Clinton County. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and long-standing history, Haneyville Campground is a place where traditions are born and generations of families return to reconnect with nature. It provides a classic camping experience that balances rustic charm with the essential amenities needed for a comfortable stay in the forest.
The spirit of Haneyville Campground is rooted in community and relaxation. Many long-term visitors have frequented the grounds for over 25 years, citing the park's ability to provide a consistent "getaway" experience that prioritizes peace and quiet. The campground is particularly popular among outdoor enthusiasts who use it as a basecamp for exploring the surrounding Tiadaghton State Forest. Despite its remote feel, the campground fosters a social environment where it is easy to make friends with fellow campers, many of whom travel from across the Northeast to experience the unique topography and hospitality of the Lock Haven area. For local Pennsylvanians, it represents a reliable and friendly home away from home.
Haneyville Campground is located at 204 Millers Ln, Lock Haven, PA 17745, USA. While it carries a Lock Haven address, it is situated significantly north of the city center, placing it squarely within the high-country flats of the PA Wilds. This location is ideal for those who enjoy scenic drives, as the route to the campground often involves winding through lush valley floors and ascending steep mountain ridges. The park is conveniently positioned near PA-44, which is a major artery for travelers exploring the Pine Creek Valley and the "Highway to the Stars."
Accessibility within the park has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate a variety of guests. The campground features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, ensuring that all visitors can navigate the main areas of the facility. The terrain at the campsites is generally level, making it suitable for both traditional tent setups and various types of camping trailers. Whether you are arriving in a compact car or a larger truck geared for the mountains, the on-site parking is spacious and easy to navigate.

The campground is a literal stone's throw from the Haneyville ATV trail system, making it a top choice for motorized sport enthusiasts who want "ride-in, ride-out" access. For those who prefer a slower pace, the nearby Pine Creek Rail Trail offers over 60 miles of flat, scenic pathways for biking and hiking. Wildlife viewing is another major highlight, with frequent sightings of white-tailed deer, black bears, and a variety of birds of prey that call the Tiadaghton State Forest home.
- Direct access to the expansive Tiadaghton State Forest for hiking, hunting, and exploration.

What makes Haneyville Campground worth choosing is the authenticity of the experience it offers. In an era where many campgrounds are becoming overly commercialized, Haneyville remains true to the "mountain camp" roots that have defined Pennsylvania outdoor culture for decades. It is worth choosing for its strategic location; you are close enough to the amenities of Lock Haven and Jersey Shore for supplies, yet deep enough in the forest to feel a world away. The long-standing tenure of many of its campers is a testament to the quality of the management and the peacefulness of the grounds.
Furthermore, the campground is an excellent choice for families who want a safe, controlled environment where children can play freely on the playground or ride bikes around the loops. The inclusion of wheelchair-accessible facilities and pet-friendly policies ensures that no member of the family is left behind. For the avid ATV rider or hiker, the time saved on commuting to trailheads is invaluable, allowing more time for the activities you love. If you are looking for a place where you can sit by a fire, meet friendly neighbors, and enjoy the unparalleled beauty of the Pennsylvania mountains, Haneyville Campground is a top-tier choice that delivers on the promise of a classic forest retreat.
