Whether you are planning a weekend escape to nearby Hershey or seeking a reliable long-term storage solution for your recreational vehicles, this facility caters to the diverse needs of the modern camper.

The atmosphere at Harrisburg East is one of orderly charm and seasonal beauty. Despite its proximity to the bustling city center, the grounds are characterized by mature shade trees and well-kept gravel sites that offer a peaceful retreat from the road. The park is uniquely positioned to handle year-round visitors, featuring winter-ready infrastructure that ensures the camping season never truly has to end. From families enjoying the heated pool in the summer to retirees exploring the historic battlefields of Gettysburg in the crisp autumn air, the campground maintains a professional and welcoming tone that reflects the pride of its ownership. It is a place where "clean and orderly" is not just a goal, but a daily standard experienced by every guest.

Location and accessibility are the cornerstones of the Harrisburg East experience. Situated at 1134 Highspire Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111, the campground is strategically placed just minutes away from the Pennsylvania State Beltway. This location offers unparalleled access to the region’s major highways, including I-76, I-81, and I-83, making it an ideal "base camp" for regional exploration. Residents of Pennsylvania will find it incredibly convenient for reaching the PA Farm Show Complex, the National Civil War Museum, and the iconic Hershey attractions—all within a ten to fifteen-minute drive. For those traveling from further afield, the facility is easily accessible, though its proximity to the Harrisburg International Airport and major thoroughfares does mean guests should expect the vibrant sounds of a connected transportation hub.

Accessibility within the park is designed to be inclusive, ensuring that all guests can enjoy the facilities with ease. The campground features wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and parking lots, reflecting a commitment to accommodating every traveler. For larger rigs, the park offers spacious pull-through sites that simplify the setup process, even for those arriving after dark. The transition from the highway to the campsite is seamless, with paved and well-maintained roads that lead directly to level, gravel pads designed for stability and comfort.

What is worth choosing about Harrisburg East Campground and Storage is the rare combination of professional efficiency and family-owned warmth. For local Pennsylvanians, this facility offers a reliable and high-quality option in a region where camping choices can sometimes be limited. The fact that it is veteran and women-owned adds a layer of community value that many guests appreciate. It is worth choosing specifically for its "easy in, easy out" logistics; the pull-through sites are designed for convenience, which is a significant benefit for those passing through on a long journey or those attending a weekend event at the nearby Giant Center or Farm Show Complex.

Furthermore, the cleanliness of the facilities is a standout factor. Reviewers frequently mention the spacious and pristine bathhouses, which have earned high ratings for their upkeep. While the proximity to the airport and highway does introduce some ambient noise, many find this a small trade-off for the absolute convenience of being ten minutes away from world-class theme parks and historic landmarks. Had an unplanned stop for 1night here while pass through due to unexpectadly needing to get something fixed with our truck. I was very happy & thankful they could accommodate us last minute.Pros:* Private RV park offering all amenities such as full hook-ups, laundry, bathhouse, free ice, swimming pool, dump station, & propane for sale.* Each site has a hook-up box light.* Park is clean & quiet with huge mature shade trees lining each row of sites.* Neighborhood the park is located in is safe.* Pool was still up & running in early October & was immaculately clean.* Bathhouse was spacious & very clean.* Roads are all newly paved.* Grounds are very well & neatly landscaped.* Wendy, who answered the phone & who helped us get a ladt-minute spot, and all the folks who work the front desk are also super nice.* Dryers in laundry room are only a dollar for about 45 minutes (but washers are $3.75/load)* Very conveniently located in Harrisburg right off I-83 & not too far from I-283 & I-81, which makes this a great place for folks to come to Harrisburg with their campers to do business here as well as a conveniebt lay-over travelers passing through who need to get laundry done, etc...Cons:* All sites are graveled & unlevel. Gravel is at least smaller & easy to walk on, but its still gravel. I expected sites would be level concrete (NOT tarred - that's way too heat producing in summer) for the rates they charge.* As others stated theres a fair amount of highway noise, but no worse than if boondocking off an interstate at a Cracker Barrel. But this no bother to us, as we look at it as the price you pay for being in the middle of a state capitol city & close to an interstate. After all, you are not camping at national or state nature park.* Rates are too high. They do give a 10% Good Sam or military discount, but for these rates I'd expect a hot tub in the pool area, concreted sites, & a fully gated park. But in their defense, however, I lived in PA for almost 2 years & am very well aware that real property taxes in the entire state are too high, "luxury tax" on things like hotels or this are absolutely stupid, & insurance rates are also too high* Water pressure of shower heads were horrible (but they had wonderful hot & clean water.Overall, I would stay here again.
