Hardwood Haven Campground is breath taking. We rented a cabin for 4 nights. The cabin we rented was clean and spacious offering a kitchen area equipped with stove, refrigerator sink and microwave. The second story has bed frames perfect for any sized inflatable mattress and is roomy. The front of cabin has a covered porch allowing us to enjoy the view of this areas beauty. There is a bathroom in our cabin and two shower houses on grounds. The shower houses were clean and easy to use. We met several of the seasonal campers and the owners. Everyone was very friendly pointing out their personal favorites of the campground they call their summer home. The owners are very passionate about their grounds keeping every area neat and in good repair. I had the pleasure of talking with Kim and John, the owners, finding them to be very pleasant, down to earth people. We were fortunate to be invited to participate in their flea and craft show event on Saturday meeting several of the area locals and other crafters that share a passion for their choice of artistic abilities. It was fun to set up a small table of my handmade ceramics and join this event. Thank you Harwood Haven for a very pleasant stay.

Super hospitable owners and very well kept grounds! Hiked thru on the FLT (which quite literally passes through the campground- score!), and the owner was SO wonderful- she even drove us up the hill to the showers!

Great place to camp, many retired folks who are polite and keep up their sites to perfection. The owners are very down to earth and helpful. The location is just far enough from the grind for to feel that country outdoor living. There's also a hiking trail that runs behind the camp ground that can take you all the way to upstate new York. Very clean bathrooms and cool activities.

This was the 4th time my husband and I have brought our growing family out to this campsite. We hoped to share our love for camping with our children as they get older but Unfortunately this visit was unlike all the others. From check-in there was problem after problem. After arriving at the office to check-in we learned that the cabin had no running water! We knew in the past that was the case but...their website wjen I booked and as of two to three days ago said "large cabins now equipped with water and restrooms." That was the only reason I booked along with a large number of other family members who came out to be with us. We all have small children and some of which are currently potty training. Well a restroom was a great thing to have. You can see from screen shot that it is mentioned on the site. Well its no true!!! After learning that the owner (Kim) started to argue me down saying the site does not say that.(LOOK BELOW) We did reserve cabin 8 which is a "largecabin". So she just began to be totally defensive after I stated the obvious. After the fuss we agree that she would discount our stay $100 off. That was fine! Until after we were at the campsite relaxing after eating the kids were playing in a tent we brought on the last time we have stayed here. Kim walks up without her mask on during COVID Pandemic with an attitude and starts yelling that she was feeling bad about what happened earlier but now were even because we lied on our reservation about how many people we have and we had a tent out front of our site. The website does say the cabin sleeps six. Ill give her that because we had 3 adults and 5 children which 3 of them are toddlers but besides that we offered to pay extra if it were a problem. She says no thats no necessary but will we all fit? Which we did and comfortably. The she goes on about the tent she rents tent space out and now other people are going to want to do the same thing... I immediately told my 12 year old son to take it down! Then Kim says its not a big deal guys but just know in the future its not allowed. But because its empty and noone inteded on sleeping in it it was fine. I did explain the tent was to keep the smaller children from playing in the grass or running out toward the road and it had toys in ther for that reason. She understood then reiterated that we were to meet the fillowing day to "square up" in regards to the $100 discount. After she left our site my husband and I went to go speak with her privately because she had brought all that commotion out in front of our kids. During that discussion she said things that rubbed us both the wrong way. We started to think this could be a racial issue after she spoke which my husband redirected the subject of race to the real issue at hand. The end result was better she apologized for the show she put on at the campsite and said that we all have an understanding going forward. We all walked away on agreement. Just when we thought things were good John(Kim's) husband came over to the cabin the next morning in an attempt to smooth over the damage his wife did but by then it was water under the bridge to us. He spoke to my husband which was ok with me because I was done with the catastrophe. Welp on our last day John came by and told my husband that two of the other cabins that was with our group had checked out but didn't clean so just make sure things are tidy. Finally after packing up we called to have the cabin inspected. John showed up gave us the thumbs up. Then after we asked about our discount John blew his lid!!! He angrily rehashed to my husband all the things the Kim and I already spoke about and resolved, as if to say Im not giving you the money back. I then said those things are irrelevant and your wife and I had an agreement. I said sir how do I go about getting the money I was promised. John pulled out a $100 bill and said I have it here and if you take this I don't want to see you here anymore. That was ok with me so I said thank you very much and told my husband let's go! I only hope and pray they make changes
