Choosing Highland Camp Ground means choosing a facility that understands the value of a well-rounded camping experience. One of the most significant reasons to visit is the sheer variety of activities and events hosted on the grounds. For example, their themed weekends, such as early Halloween celebrations, are legendary among local campers. These events feature well-planned activities that bring the community together, making it an excellent choice for families who want more than just a place to park their trailer. The "down-to-earth" vibe mentioned by many visitors is a testament to the authentic, welcoming atmosphere that the owners have cultivated over the years.

Furthermore, the physical features of the campground are superior to many standard parks. The sites are known for being spacious, providing a level of privacy and "breathing room" that can be hard to find in more crowded facilities. The inclusion of modern amenities like Wi-Fi and hot showers with great water pressure means you do not have to sacrifice comfort for the sake of nature. From the well-maintained fishing pond to the lively playground area, every inch of the property is optimized for guest satisfaction.

For pet owners, Highland Camp Ground is a standout choice. Unlike many parks that simply "tolerate" pets, this campground embraces them with a dedicated dog park and plenty of space for walks. This makes it a true home-away-from-home for every member of the family. Whether you are coming for the hiking, the fishing, or the simple joy of sitting by a fire under the Connecticut stars, Highland Camp Ground offers a comprehensive, high-quality experience that brings people back year after year. It is a local gem in Scotland, CT, that continues to set the standard for what a family-oriented campground should be.

The value of a stay here is also reflected in the transparent pricing and professional management. With the ability to pay via major credit and debit cards, the administrative side of your vacation is handled with the same care and efficiency as the maintenance of the grounds. When you consider the combination of high-end amenities, a robust activity calendar, and a genuine sense of community, it is clear why so many Connecticut residents choose Highland Camp Ground as their preferred outdoor destination. It is more than just a campground; it is a place where you can truly disconnect from the digital noise and reconnect with what matters most.

I went with a group of friends with my son to Highland this weekend we had sights 71 and 72. It was Halloween weekend there (early because they will be closed for actual Halloween). We tent camped and had a great time. The activities for the weekend were fun and well planned. We all loved the general down to earth vibe and fellow campers were friendly. One of my group who also owns a camper is now looking into getting a seasonal sight there she liked it so much. The owners were super nice and friendly.

My son and I had an awesome stay here! The campground offers spacious sites, many games and activities, a welcoming community, and is all well maintained! Hot showers with great water pressure, a pool, a fishing pond, and more. It's a really wonderful place, definitely adding to our favorites list!

This is our first season here and we love it! It's quiet and clean. The sites are good size fitting our 32 ft camper and 2 cars with plenty of room to spare. The laundry and bathrooms are directly across from us which is a plus. Rec hall has ping pong, pool, air hockey tables and a few arcade games and bingo is held every weekend there. There is a small stocked pond which is catch and release and perfect for the kids. Playground includes separate area for under 6 yrs old and their is basketball hoop, tether ball, shuffleboard and bocce courts. The people we've met have all been really nice and the owners take care of their property. There is also a pool by the office which is a little walk and a fenced dog park for the pooches to get some exercise without leash. Cheapest place we could find in CT at $2350 for season from April to October. And campers can be left on site and winterized for $500. Beautiful wooded area with many places to fish and stores less than 10 miles away (Walmart, Aldi's, Home Depot etc...) As well as some national brand and local restaurants

We picked up a seasonal site this year. It’s a great place to bring kids and family. They are rule oriented but it’s to keep the kids safe. We love it. The activities in the weekends are a lot of fun and the pool is awesome. It’s a great bargain.

This has a lot of seasonal campers in more or less permanent camps, which makes it a little strange to come here as a tent camper, but the people are friendly and the amenities are nice. There is water at every site (which is convenient), and the toilets and bath houses are clean and well maintained. The tent lots are not at all private and are basically in the middle of everything. We have camped here multiple times and will undoubtedly do so again when we come back to the area.
