Highland Falls RV Park & Marina Introduce
Highland Falls RV Park & Marina serves as a unique destination for travelers seeking a waterfront experience in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Nestled along the eastern edge of the village of Highland Falls, this park offers a rare opportunity to camp directly on the shores of the iconic Hudson River. For New Yorkers looking to escape the hustle of the city or for those visiting the historic landmarks of Orange County, the park provides a blend of rugged natural beauty and essential modern conveniences. It is a place where the rhythmic sounds of passing trains and the gentle lapping of river waves create a distinct atmosphere that captures the industrial and natural history of New York State.
As a relatively recent addition to the region's outdoor hospitality scene, Highland Falls RV Park & Marina prides itself on offering a premier, secure environment for RV enthusiasts. The park is designed to cater to both short-term weekenders and those looking for an extended stay in a region rich with military history and scenic wonder. Its position on the riverfront makes it a focal point for the local community's waterfront revitalization efforts, transforming a historic railroad depot area into a functional and welcoming space for modern explorers. Whether you are here for a graduation at the nearby military academy or simply to watch the sunset over the water, this location offers a front-row seat to the best of the Hudson Highlands.
Location and accessibility are two of the park's most significant advantages. Situated at 72 Station Hill, Highland Falls, NY 10928, the park is tucked away at the bottom of a historic incline, providing a secluded feel while remaining minutes away from the village center. For those navigating the region, it is conveniently located just outside the gates of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Accessibility is a priority at Highland Falls RV Park & Marina, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot to ensure that all guests can enjoy the waterfront views and facilities with ease.
The drive into the park takes you down Station Hill Road, a path that descends toward the river and offers glimpses of the area's storied past, including the old train station. Travelers should be aware that the road narrows as it approaches the waterfront, and the park maintains a "Private Property" policy to ensure the security and privacy of its paying guests. This exclusivity helps maintain a quiet environment for those who have reserved a spot, away from the foot traffic of the main village streets. Its proximity to Route 9W and the Bear Mountain Bridge makes it an easy reach for residents from the Hudson Valley, Northern New Jersey, and the NYC metro area.
Highland Falls RV Park & Marina offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to make every RV stay seamless and comfortable. The park operates year-round, accommodating those who enjoy the vibrant colors of autumn or the quiet stillness of a New York winter. The services offered include:
- Full RV hookup services at every site, including high-quality electric, water, and sewer connections.
- High-speed Wi-Fi access throughout the park, allowing guests to stay connected or work remotely while overlooking the river.
- 24-hour security monitoring and personal service to ensure a safe and private environment for all residents.
- On-site parking for guest vehicles, providing convenience for those who wish to explore the surrounding towns by car.
- Flexible booking options with daily, weekly, and monthly rates available to suit different travel needs.
- Basic utility maintenance and running water services available throughout the seasons.
- Restroom facilities for the use of registered park guests.
The features and highlights of this park extend beyond basic utility. The unique geography and history of the site provide a series of highlights that are difficult to find at more traditional inland campgrounds. Key features include:
- Prime Hudson River frontage with unobstructed views of the water and the surrounding mountain ranges.
- Walking distance to the United States Military Academy at West Point, making it an ideal home base for families attending academy events.
- Pet-friendly policies that welcome dogs, allowing you to bring your four-legged companions on your Hudson Valley adventure.
- Proximity to world-class hiking and recreation at Bear Mountain State Park and the Storm King Arts Center.
- A historic setting adjacent to an old railroad depot, offering a unique perspective on the region's transportation heritage.
- Close access to the Highland Falls Military Museum and the historic business district's shops and restaurants.
- Spectacular bird-watching opportunities, with frequent sightings of bald eagles and other river-dwelling wildlife.
For those interested in securing a spot at this waterfront retreat, it is recommended to call ahead for reservations, especially during peak graduation and foliage seasons. The management can provide the most current rates and availability for both short-term and long-term sites. You can contact Highland Falls RV Park & Marina through the following details:

What is worth choosing about Highland Falls RV Park & Marina is the unparalleled access it provides to both the Hudson River and the West Point community. In a region where waterfront real estate is highly coveted, this park offers a way to wake up every morning with the river just steps from your door. It is an excellent choice for those who appreciate the "active" history of New York—the sound of the trains passing nearby is a reminder of the vital transit corridors that built the state, and the views of the highlands are a testament to its preserved natural beauty.
Furthermore, the park's commitment to security and personal service makes it a standout choice for long-term travelers or military families who need a reliable and safe place to stay for extended periods. While the site is a dedicated "no-frills" RV park—focusing on the essentials of hookups and views rather than elaborate playground complexes—its value lies in its tranquility and its location. If you are looking for a place that serves as a quiet sanctuary while remaining at the center of the Hudson Valley's most significant cultural and historic attractions, Highland Falls RV Park & Marina is an investment in an authentic New York experience. Choosing this park means choosing an intimate connection with the river, the mountains, and the deep history of the United States.

Customer Reviews
Went down to take a look at the old train station and the river. Very Nice, But A lady came out of the station and afterstating my business told me the area was Private Property! Left soon after. Lovely Spot, Lots of History but if your not parking your RV there- You're Not Welcome!
If you don't mind the trains that pass every hour it's a nice stop with a beautiful view during the day. But be careful on the drive up at night.
Beautiful view, bit I don't have much information about the place.
A gem ! I'll be back often. 2 hours away from long island and its in the middle paradise !
I called in January to make reservations for an April weekend. Sally answered and told me it would be $100 a night and had to be paid in CASH upon arrival. I asked to get a confirmation for the reservations and Sally indicated it would not be needed as she is the only one there and would remember. My fault now as I agreed to the plan. I called her the day before arrival to make sure she remembered. She didn't. Being in MD at the time with wife, dog and camper I had nowhere to go. I was on my way to see family and this campground was relatively close. After an hour and a half I found an alternate campsite but much farther away. Be aware of dealing with Sally if you decide to go here.
