Located in the picturesque town of Fitzwilliam, this campground is a staple of the Monadnock region, providing a peaceful escape that balances the rugged beauty of the Granite State with a warm, community-focused atmosphere. As a women-owned business, the campground prides itself on a personal touch, where owners and staff are deeply involved in creating a safe, engaging, and hospitable environment for all guests. Whether you are a local resident looking for a seasonal home away from home or a traveler exploring the tri-state border area, Hunter's State Line offers a versatile space to unwind and connect with nature.

The spirit of the campground is defined by its focus on family and tradition. For many visitors, a trip to Hunter's State Line is more than just an overnight stay; it is an opportunity to join a tight-knit community of seasonal and transient campers. The park is particularly well-known for its vibrant schedule of events, ranging from "Christmas in July" celebrations featuring visits from Santa to themed weekends that keep children entertained and parents relaxed. The commitment to maintaining a family-friendly vibe is evident in the layout of the park, which prioritizes common areas for gathering, play, and relaxation. For those in the New Hampshire region, it represents the quintessential summer tradition of woodsmoke, starlit nights, and the slow pace of life that makes the Monadnock area so beloved.

Location and accessibility are major advantages for Hunter's State Line Campground-Variety. Situated at 850 NH-12 in Fitzwilliam, the park is conveniently located right on the main corridor of Route 12, just north of the Massachusetts border. This makes it an exceptionally easy destination for campers traveling from the Worcester or Winchendon areas, as well as those coming south from Keene or Manchester. The entrance is designed to be accessible, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a parking lot to accommodate guests with diverse mobility needs. Its proximity to local landmarks such as Mount Monadnock and Rhododendron State Park means that world-class hiking and unique botanical displays are only a short drive away, allowing guests to use the campground as a central hub for regional exploration.

The physical landscape of the campground is characterized by mature trees and well-maintained sites that offer a sense of privacy while still feeling part of the larger neighborhood. The facility caters to various camping styles, from those who prefer the simplicity of pitching a tent under the stars to those who travel with fully equipped RVs. On-site parking is plentiful, and the internal roads are designed to facilitate easy movement for larger rigs. Additionally, the campground is pet-friendly, welcoming dogs so that the entire family—four-legged members included—can enjoy the New Hampshire wilderness together.

What is worth choosing when considering Hunter's State Line Campground-Variety is the unparalleled sense of hospitality and affordability it provides to the New Hampshire community. In an era where many campgrounds are becoming corporate-owned and impersonal, the women-owned and family-operated nature of this facility stands out. The owners, Brenda and Butch, are frequently mentioned by name by returning guests, highlighting a level of personal care that ensures your needs are met and your stay is enjoyable. The affordability of the seasonal rates makes it a viable option for local families to establish a summer tradition without the prohibitive costs associated with larger vacation resorts.

The "Variety" in the name truly reflects the diverse options available to guests. Whether you want to participate in every high-energy weekend activity or simply want to sit in a folding chair by your fire pit and read a book, the environment supports both lifestyles. The local lake provides a serene backdrop for those who enjoy the water, offering quiet moments for reflection or photography as the sun sets over the state line. We just purchased a seasonal site. Brenda and Butch are great with kids, there are activities every weekend. In fact, just this week we had a visit from Santa, it was Christmas in July! Lake is quiet but has some amazing sights and sunsets. Amazing place to make amazing memories.
