Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay Introduce
For residents of Maryland seeking a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay represents a unique opportunity to connect with the natural beauty of the Eastern Shore. Situated in the picturesque community of Earleville within Cecil County, this sprawling campground is more than just a place to pitch a tent; it is a dedicated camping resort designed for those who value tradition, community, and the great outdoors. Whether you are a lifelong Marylander or a newcomer to the region, the resort provides a gateway to the Chesapeake Bay’s tranquil waters and lush landscapes.
Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay is a private, deeded-lot camping community. Unlike traditional campgrounds where you rent a space for a night or two, many visitors here are "funstead" owners who have purchased their own slice of paradise. This model fosters a strong sense of community among campers, many of whom have been visiting for decades. The resort is open year-round, allowing owners to enjoy the changing seasons of Maryland, though it maintains a strict policy against permanent residency to preserve its status as a recreational retreat. For local families, it serves as a fractional-cost vacation home, providing a consistent weekend getaway without the high overhead of traditional coastal real estate.
Accessibility is a key priority for the management at Indian Acres. The facility is designed to be inclusive, ensuring that the joys of camping are available to everyone. From the moment you arrive at the gated entrance, you will find a layout that accommodates various needs, including wheelchair-accessible entrances and designated parking areas. The resort's commitment to accessibility extends to its common areas and restrooms, ensuring a comfortable experience for all guests and owners regardless of mobility levels.

What makes Indian Acres of Chesapeake Bay worth choosing is the perfect balance it strikes between rustic "off-grid" charm and modern resort amenities. In an era where many vacation spots feel overly commercialized, Indian Acres retains a nostalgic, family-oriented atmosphere where kids can be kids and adults can truly unplug. The opportunity to own a deeded lot means you are investing in a lifestyle, not just a temporary stay. You have the freedom to customize your campsite within community guidelines, creating a personalized sanctuary that you can return to weekend after weekend.
Furthermore, the location is unbeatable for fans of Maryland’s maritime heritage. Being situated on the Eastern Shore means you are surrounded by historical sites, local seafood markets, and the unique flora and fauna of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The resort's schedule of seasonal events—from Bingo nights and pool tournaments to bluegrass festivals—ensures that there is always something to look forward to. This place is a lot of fun! I look forward to each weekend I can come to my campsite.
We have been 'funstead' owners since 2007. We spend most weekends here enjoying life ' off grid' (we have been getting cable 'next year' since day 1). Good fishing at the Tdock and some of the ponds, 2 pools with slides, CampStore (delicious, reasonably priced food) game room, covered pavilion for occasional weekend bands & djs and lots of open areas to gather with friends and family. Some negatives are: inaccessible mgmt team, rules changing on a whim with little to no notice (outside of Covid restrictions), lack of an onsite pumping company.
It's a great place for the kids and adults to have a good time. We went fishing at night and hung out by the pool during the day.
My wife and I recently purchased a lot in Glen 4, and we are so excited! My wife's family has owned places in Indian Acres her whole life, and we've always had a great time down there. We couldn't be happier that our 10 month old daughter will get to spend all her summers here.
Great place, quiet 🤫 and nice.Visited a friend for the weekend.Very awesome people that live there.
