Jellystone Park at Milton Introduce
Jellystone Park at Milton is a destination that captures the essence of a classic Pennsylvania family vacation. Situated at the scenic foot of Montour Ridge and nestled along the banks of the Chillisquaque Creek, this RV park and camp-resort offers a vibrant blend of outdoor adventure and resort-style amenities. As a part of the renowned Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park system, the Milton location is specifically designed to cater to families, providing a "stay-and-play" atmosphere where children can engage in organized activities while parents enjoy the natural beauty of the Susquehanna River Valley. The park is characterized by its lush, rolling hills and well-manicured grounds, creating a picturesque environment for both weekend retreats and extended summer stays.
The resort emphasizes a comprehensive vacation experience, moving beyond the traditional camping model to offer "glamping" and high-end RV accommodations. Visitors are often struck by the clean, knotty-pine interiors of the on-site cabins and the spacious layout of the RV sites, many of which offer views of the water or the surrounding woodlands. The presence of iconic characters like Yogi Bear™, Boo Boo™, and Cindy Bear™ adds a layer of whimsy that makes the park particularly memorable for younger campers. Whether you are roasting marshmallows at a group campfire or participating in a high-energy foam party, the park aims to provide a supervised and engaging environment that keeps the "I'm bored" complaints at bay.
Location and accessibility make Jellystone Park at Milton a convenient hub for travelers across the Keystone State. I've never vacationed at a ,Cleaner , more well kept campground, not to mention all the kids friendly ,free activities , several play areas , nice climbing structure , the Bounce pad and the frog pond kept them busy most days as did fishing. The gem mining was very reasonably priced as was the gift shop merch. The main reason for the 5 star rating was the Staff. You couldn't hope for a more friendly, up beat, courteous , helpful crew to make your kids camping experience so memorable.I can't thank them enough for going above and beyond in so many ways. Our Cabin was so impressive,.the online photos didn't do it justice,. Very spacious and clean , beautiful knotty pine interior, with all the comforts of home, fresh towels and linens, cookware, dishes utensils,.there wasnt one thing I needed that wasnt in there..I was blown away.
We used to really like this place, often camped there 3 to 4 times a year. However, this park has gone down hill over the last several years. The website shows all kinds of activities that you can do with your children as well as a large pool and a splash area with water slides (this is their main attraction and should definitely be a top priority when it comes to maintenance)The website is very inviting. Some things you should know. It's expensive. Most activities cost extra, like laser tag, tie dye and the like. However, chances are good you will wait well past the sign up time you are scheduled for someone to show up for the activity that you paid to take part in. If you choose to do tie dye be prepared because chances are good they won't have a size shirt that your child needs, (never once have they had the sizes we needed) and you'll be forced to purchase an adult size shirt for your kid to tie dye because that is all they have available. We went for a day trip on a week day, yes you can do this BUT it will cost you $25 per person just to use the pool, splash area and play ground equipment. Note, if you took your camper there with 2 adults and 3 kids for one night it would cost the same amount. However, you won't be checking in until 4pm and then you'll be leaving by 11am the next day, so you wouldn't have much day time to enjoy while there. On a weekday don't think about doing any other activities other than swimming or using the playground equipment because they are so short staffed they don't offer them. Here's the good part after paying $125 for 2 adults and 3 kids to spend the day there we found out the splash pad area was not working. If I would have been told this ahead of paying it is doubtful we would have stayed. After about 1 1/2 hours they did get the splash pad area working. It's just sad because this campground has so much potential but is poorly run. The staff are nice and friendly and honestly they can't be held responsible for the bad management of this campground.
I expected more from a Yogi bear campground . We have stayed at quite few other ones and they were phenomenal. The camp store is nice and well stocked. There are fire rings, but no grates to grill on. The bathrooms are atrocious. Strong smell of urine. Dirty , not just from daily use for the day but months and months of filth. The worst part was no hot water in the showers. It was just one night, thankfully. Very expensive at $79 for one night for a tiny pop up camper. Definitely would never stay here again.
Third time staying here for Family Weekend at Bucknell. Location is great. We stay by the creek and sites are nice and almost level. This year there was an issue with the WiFi & cable. It didn’t work entire weekend. Not a big deal since we had our Starlink. Kept asking folks at the store and they said it was on, but it wasn’t. Will we be back, yes. Wish they stayed open longer into the season so we could stay there when football games are going on.
I had such high hopes for this place, but unfortunately it wasn’t as nice as we anticipated. When we first arrived, I went to check into our cabin at 4:45p when they it had stated that check in was 4p. The front desk clerk informed me that our cabin wasn’t cleaned yet and we had to wait approx. 1 to 1 1/2 hours until we could get into our cabin. We took the kids to the splash pad and they enjoyed themselves. When we went back to the cabin, it was in the same state that it was before. I sent my husband over to the ranger station to ask approx. how much longer it would take before we could get into our cabin. They told my husband that our cabin has been cleaned and was clean before 4p. So we just wasted two hours when we could’ve been setting up and unloading, and we had three kids and two dogs with us. The queen bed in the cabin looked like it was just thrown together, so I really couldn’t tell if there was new linens on the bed or not. They didn’t make the bunkbeds twin beds, they just laid the linens on the beds. The floors are absolutely filthy. I understand we’re camping but what would it take for you to try to keep the floors clean in the cabins our kids feet were black and I wipe them clean every night before they got into bed. Whenever we would go to do something, it would most likely be closed. They didn’t have any food on site that was open. They appeared to have a food truck on site, but it was never open during our stay and a lot of other people complained about this. They said the ice cream stand only stays open if it has enough customers. My husband and I took a shower the one night and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. There’s black mold at the bottom of the showers. The staff barely cracked a smile. The young girls at the activity center were very nice though. It’s just unfortunate because this place has so much potential. We were just expecting so much more, especially for the price you pay.
