River Edge RV Camp & Marina Introduce

For outdoor enthusiasts and families across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, River Edge RV Camp & Marina offers a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Susquehanna River Valley. Situated in the quiet community of Winfield, this campground serves as a dedicated retreat for those who enjoy the specific tranquility that only a riverside location can provide. As a destination that combines traditional camping with maritime access, it has long been a staple for local residents who appreciate the slower pace of life found along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Whether you are a seasonal camper looking for a long-term summer home or a weekend traveler passing through Central Pennsylvania, the park provides a rustic setting aimed at reconnecting guests with nature and the water.

The campground is characterized by its laid-back, community-oriented atmosphere. For many regular visitors from nearby towns like Lewisburg, Selinsgrove, and Sunbury, River Edge is more than just a place to park an RV; it is a gathering spot where neighbors become friends. The presence of mature trees and the direct proximity to the riverfront create a scenic environment that is ideal for birdwatching, photography, or simply relaxing by the water’s edge. The park’s focus on providing essential amenities in a naturalistic setting makes it a popular choice for those who prefer an authentic camping experience over the highly commercialized "resort" style parks found in other parts of the state.

River Edge RV Camp & Marina is conveniently located at 443 Riveredge Ln, Winfield, PA 17889, USA. This location is particularly advantageous for Pennsylvania travelers, as it sits just off major transit corridors, allowing for easy access while remaining secluded enough to avoid the noise of heavy highway traffic. The geography of the site is designed to maximize the riverfront views, with many sites situated just a short walk from the water. For guests with mobility considerations, the park features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, ensuring that the beauty of the Susquehanna is reachable for all visitors. The layout of the grounds supports both large RV rigs and traditional tent campers, providing a versatile landscape for various styles of outdoor living.

Accessibility extends to the marina services as well. The facility is designed to cater to boaters, with infrastructure in place to support the launching and docking of watercraft. This makes it a strategic base for anglers and recreational boaters who wish to explore the "clean, clear West Branch" of the river. The proximity to local services in Winfield and the surrounding Union County area ensures that guests are never too far from grocery stores, local diners, and mechanical services should they need them during their stay.

The services at River Edge RV Camp & Marina are tailored to support both short-term stays and seasonal residency. The management focuses on providing the core utilities necessary for a comfortable outdoor stay while maintaining the rustic charm of the property. The services offered include:

Its position on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River is one of its most significant assets, providing a level of water access that is rare in the region. For avid fishermen and boaters, the ability to have their vessel docked just steps away from their campsite is a major convenience that saves time and effort. The quiet, non-commercialized nature of the park is also a significant draw for retirees and families who are looking for a peaceful environment where they can relax without the distractions of a loud, crowded resort.

Additionally, the sense of community at River Edge is a factor that keeps many guests returning year after year. The park is known for its friendly, long-term residents who contribute to a safe and welcoming atmosphere. For parents, the fact that the park is "good for kids" and features a playground means that there are built-in opportunities for children to make friends and stay active. While the park maintains a rustic feel, the inclusion of modern necessities like Wi-Fi and laundry services ensures that you don’t have to sacrifice all the comforts of home. For those seeking an authentic Pennsylvania camping experience where the river is the main attraction, River Edge remains a compelling and practical choice.

Ultimately, a stay at River Edge RV Camp & Marina is about enjoying the simple pleasures of the outdoors. From watching the sunrise over the water to spending an afternoon fishing on the pier, the park offers a classic American camping experience. This used to be a nice fun place years ago, then the lack of ground maintenance and the owner’s need for personal involvement in guests’ lives has run the place into the ground. Check out our shared photos showing the faulty electrical, unusable water, and general unsafe conditions where dead trees fall at any given time, and you will see why you want to avoid this place at any cost. Faulty wires and dangerous overloaded circuits cause several campers to have their electronics fried. 12 camping sites were told they couldn’t use their air conditioners on the hottest days of 2018 because they had the circuits so overloaded you couldn’t get more than 80 volts out of a 120 volt line. They literally tie extension cords together and run them to the tent sites for power! The water quality is 100% unusable. The river water is actually cleaner than the tap water. The owner likes to make 100’s of rules and then travels from site to site gossiping about the other guests. Real professional way to run a business? The small group that she uses as her spies, however, has immunity to the rules and can do whatever they want. If you approach her with a maintenance issue or problems you are experiencing she throws her hands in the air and says “what do you want me to do about it?” We want you to fix it, that’s normally what a groundskeeper does especially when you are paying almost $1600 a year, plus $400 for a boat dock that was pulled out weeks earlier despite the stated camping CONTRACT dates. They market it as family friendly but the playground is unsafe for kids. Every time another dead tree falls they chop it up and dump it in the playground lot. There is a huge pile of logs which has become habitat for snakes, raccoons and rodents. This is literally a few feet from where your children are supposed to play. The rats have even eaten holes through guests campers! Hopefully in the near future an investor buys it out and restores it back to what it once was, but at this point the place is so far gone it seems hopeless, and the owner could care less once she gets your check. There used to be a lot of great people there and everyone treated each other like family, but those days are gone since the owner has basically chased everyone away with her personal meddling and lack of professionalism. Sad...

Stayed there twice and found it to be nice. Went back a 3rd time with a reservation and found our site occupied. The owners said they were sorry and moved us to an open, soggy field with no amenities. I ask for a partial refund since we paid for full hookups. She refused and said if we didn't like it she would refund our money and we should just leave. We did and will never go back.

River edge campgroundDonna is a wonderful person, she's like a second mother to me and my family. People need to just give her a break. There are rules at every campground and those who do not follow them and yes we know who you are and you could have left but you chose not to, so thats on you. Everything was fixed. Needless to say could not ask for a better family then the ppl at the campground.
