Jones Pond Mens Only Campground & RV Park Introduce

Jones Pond Mens Only Campground & RV Park is a unique and vibrant destination nestled in the rolling hills of the Genesee Valley in Western New York. Spanning over 100 acres of lush landscape, this gay-owned and operated facility is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and relaxing environment for adult males aged 21 and over. Whether you are looking for a quiet weekend close to nature or an energetic social experience with like-minded individuals, Jones Pond offers a welcoming "home away from home" atmosphere that has made it a staple of the LGBTQ+ community in the New York region for over 30 seasons.

The campground is designed to be a place where guests can truly be themselves. From the moment you pass through the gates, the focus is on community, friendship, and the enjoyment of the great outdoors. With a mix of seasonal residents and weekend travelers, the park fosters a strong sense of camaraderie. The grounds are meticulously maintained, balancing the rugged charm of the woods with modern facilities that ensure a comfortable stay for every type of camper, from those in heavy-duty RVs to those who prefer the simplicity of a tent under the stars.

Location and accessibility are among the top highlights for visitors traveling from across New York State and beyond. Conveniently situated at 9835 Old State Rd in Angelica, NY, the campground is easily reachable for residents of Buffalo, Rochester, and even Southern Ontario. The entrance and main parking areas are designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible parking and restrooms. Once on-site, the central hub—including the pool, cafe, and event barn—is clustered near the entrance for easy access, while the more secluded hiking trails and primitive sites offer a deeper escape into the 120-acre property.

  • Full-service RV camping with electric and water hookups available.
  • Spacious tent sites located in both open fields and wooded areas.
  • On-site cafe serving a variety of meals, including well-regarded breakfast options and classic burgers.
  • Well-stocked camp store for essentials, ice, and camping supplies.
  • Modern public restrooms and hot showers maintained to high cleanliness standards.
  • Wi-Fi access available in common areas to keep you connected when necessary.
  • Unique financial perk: Canadian cash is accepted at par for camping fees, store purchases, and cafe meals.

The features and highlights of Jones Pond go far beyond standard camping. One of the most popular attractions is the large in-ground swimming pool, which serves as the social heart of the park during the summer months. The pool area and several other designated sections of the park are clothing-optional, allowing for a liberating and natural experience. For those who enjoy staying active, the campground offers a volleyball court and miles of hiking trails that wind through the woods and around the scenic three-acre pond. The "Barn" acts as the primary event space, hosting themed weekend dances, bingo nights, and community gatherings that bring the whole park together.

  • Clothing-optional swimming pool area for sunning and socializing.
  • Themed event weekends ranging from "Studio 54" to Mardi Gras and block parties.
  • Extensive hiking trails and a serene pond for nature walks and bird watching.
  • BYOB policy throughout the park, including the dance barn (no glass allowed in pool/barn areas).
  • Pet-friendly environment where non-aggressive dogs are welcome to join the fun.
  • A diverse range of accommodations, including rental cabins, bunkhouses, and a guest house.
  • A dedicated and friendly staff known for their upbeat attitude and helpfulness.

For those planning a visit, it is recommended to book in advance, especially during holiday weekends or popular themed events which tend to fill up quickly. The campground operates seasonally, typically from late April through early October. Because the state of New York does not allow campgrounds to hold liquor licenses, the park remains a BYOB facility, allowing guests to bring their preferred beverages to enjoy at their sites or during social events at the barn.

What is worth choosing at Jones Pond is the unmistakable sense of community and the high level of hospitality provided by the owners and staff. Unlike more anonymous commercial campgrounds, Jones Pond feels like a private club where everyone is invited to participate. It is the ideal choice for New Yorkers seeking a getaway that combines the beauty of the Genesee Valley with a social scene that is both respectful and lively. Whether you are splashing in the pool, enjoying a meal at the cafe, or dancing the night away in the barn, the experience is centered on mutual respect and the freedom to be yourself in a beautiful natural setting.

The value proposition is further enhanced by the park's commitment to continuous improvement and its inclusive policies. The acceptance of Canadian currency at par is a thoughtful touch for neighbors from across the border, and the range of lodging options—from primitive tenting to comfortable cabins—ensures that there is a price point and comfort level for everyone. For a weekend of "low-key" relaxation or a high-energy themed celebration, Jones Pond Mens Only Campground & RV Park stands out as a premier destination in the Western New York outdoor circuit.

The pool was beautiful. Cold at first but we got used to it. The pool at Hillside was warmer. Enjoyed the people at JP but missed the cafe table servers. Now you have to order at the counter and wait for your buzzer to ring. Less personal now. The dinner food at the cafe was mediocre. But the breakfast was very good. The cabins have some nice amenities when they work properly. I couldn't make coffee the first day because the Keurig didn't work. When I told the staff at the office about it, they replaced it with another coffee maker but that one didn't work either. So no coffee. The dances are usually a lot of fun but on my last trip the music wasn't that good. Almost nobody dancing. But things did pick up later when the music selections got better. If you want an experience that easily rivals JP, we highly recommend Hillside campground in PA. But if you want a low key weekend with just the basics, Jones Pond is an acceptable place to stay, just not sensational.

This was our first visit to Jones Pond. The staff and owners were super friendly and helpful. The crowd is also very friendly and fun - lots of positive energy, and a strong sense of community at this campground. Facilities are very clean and placed conveniently. The pool, barn and cafe are close to the entrance to the campground. Cafe serves delicious food and is very well priced. They are a BYOB campground since the state of NY doesn’t allow campgrounds to hold liquor licenses. You can bring alcohol anywhere within the campground - no glass at the pool or barn.A nice perk is that they accept Canadian Dollar at par everywhere: you can pay at the cafe, store and even the camping fees in Canadian cash. The only exceptions are the reservation deposit, which is charged in advance, as well as bingo - those are in $US only.

Update: I returned a year later for a second visit. Also during the week. Still one of my favorites 🤩.I've been to 12 of these 🌈 parks since I bought my camper trailer. They are all different. They all have their own character.. But This one is lovely. It has a comfortable feeling.🥰After the short bumpy unimproved neighborhood road,😣 you will see the entrance is tight🫢 something I found at two other 🌈parks as well.If you're towing your house behind you, there will be some careful manouvering🫢Even though I was unable to get in on a weekend to experience an event, 🥳the layout, the different loops, 🌠the rustic areas,🌲 the hiking trails🥾🚶 the dance barn, 🕺🏻the beautiful swimming pool🏊🏻‍♂️, the restaurant 🍽️, the large property for the seasonal residents - surpass any of the other parks I've been to.🙌🏻It's a wonderful evening walk.🍷This property is ginormous! Residence would definitely require a gas-powered golf cart. I understand they're adding cabins because that seems to be the biggest seller for overnighters.🤑Again, something common in these types of parks is very limited overnight RV sites. They seem to all be focused on seasonal and perms, but they do have plenty of ⛺ tent sites. The tent area does have power⚡ and water💦.There's actually a large centrally located tent area,🏕️ a secondary group tent area,🎪 and a rustic tent area in the woods by the stream.🌊They have a well stocked store with any type of camping need or food item you would need. Also bathing suits and the necessary 🌈 items as well. The price is reasonable. The staff is exceptional..Cleanliness is second to none. The only thing that's missing is a playhouse😈 or a hot tub. 🤓

Warm welcome from the owners, who clearly work had to keep the site looking good. Good washroom facilities and shower pressure. So why 3 stars?Single use plastic/styrofoam in the cafe, I know the compostable stuff costs more but we have to stop with the endless plastic going to landfill.Very noisy at night with petrol golf carts and other vehicles hammering around until around 3am.Rough roads leading to the site, and also some within the site.A person "holding court" at the swimming pool dressed like princess Margaret in a kaftan walking about patting guests on the head. Didn't feel inclusive.

I was welcomed in my two regulars and had a great weekend stay. The owners were friendly and helpful and the classes there were fun. I spent most my morning and afternoon around the pool and the events were great. Looking forward to heading up during Halloween with my crew. Thanks guys!
