Keyser Pond Campground Introduce
For those of us who call the Granite State home, the arrival of camping season is a cherished tradition. Nestled in the scenic town of Henniker, Keyser Pond Campground offers a quintessential New Hampshire outdoor experience that balances rustic charm with a wealth of family-friendly activities. Whether you are looking to pitch a tent under a canopy of mature pines or pull in with a full-sized RV, this campground serves as a welcoming retreat for local residents and visitors alike. Situated along the peaceful shores of Keyser Pond, the property provides a natural backdrop for creating lasting memories, from misty mornings on the water to cozy evenings spent by the campfire.
As a community-focused destination, Keyser Pond Campground caters to both transient travelers and long-term seasonal residents. This blend creates a neighborly atmosphere where familiar faces return year after year. The campground is designed to highlight the best of our local geography, offering two sandy beaches for swimming and direct access to a pond teeming with local fish species. For New Hampshire families, it represents an accessible getaway that doesn't require a long haul to the North Country, yet feels worlds away from the daily hustle of Concord or Manchester. The tone here is relaxed and unpretentious, making it an ideal spot for those who appreciate the simple pleasures of the Great Outdoors.
Location and accessibility are two of the primary reasons why local campers choose Keyser Pond. Located at 1739 Old Concord Rd, Henniker, NH 03242, the campground is remarkably easy to reach from major routes. For those traveling from the state capital, it is a short drive west on Route 9/202. The property features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a dedicated parking lot, ensuring that the facility is inclusive for all guests. The layout of the campground is designed to maximize its waterfront real estate, though the roads are kept intentionally narrow to preserve the wooded, natural feel of the area. On-site parking is provided, and the facility maintains a clear 5 MPH speed limit to ensure the safety of children and pets who frequent the communal spaces.
The services offered at Keyser Pond Campground are comprehensive, designed to support a variety of camping styles from primitive to modern. The staff provides onsite services to help manage your stay, including a well-stocked camp store for those last-minute essentials. To make your trip as smooth as possible, the following services are available:
- Full-service RV camping sites equipped with water and electrical hookups.
- Dedicated tent sites for those seeking a more traditional, "closer to nature" experience.
- Year-round cabin rentals for guests who prefer a roof over their heads, especially during the colder months.
- Clean public restrooms and hot showers (accessible via a small fee) to maintain comfort during your stay.
- On-site laundry facilities, which are a major convenience for families on extended trips.
- A central dump station for RV waste management, ensuring the ecological health of the pond area.
- Flexible payment options, including acceptance of credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments.
Features and highlights are what truly define the Keyser Pond experience. The campground is packed with amenities that keep both kids and adults entertained throughout their visit. Whether you are an active adventurer or someone who prefers to lounge by the water, you will find plenty to do without ever leaving the grounds. Key highlights include:
- Two private sandy beaches perfect for swimming and sunbathing under the New Hampshire sun.
- Boat rentals, including canoes and rowboats, for exploring the calm waters of the pond.
- Fishing opportunities for large mouth bass, perch, and pickerel (NH state fishing license required).
- A large recreation hall featuring a massive stone fireplace, pool tables, and ping pong for rainy day fun.
- Extensive sports facilities, including a basketball court and a volleyball court.
- A dedicated playground with slides and swings, making it a highly rated choice for families with children.
- A community activity schedule that often includes BINGO, DJ dances, and themed potluck suppers.
- Wi-Fi access available in common areas to help you stay connected while you disconnect.
- A pet-friendly policy that welcomes dogs, provided they remain leashed and supervised.
For those ready to book their next New Hampshire excursion or inquire about seasonal lot availability, contacting the campground directly is recommended. The office is known for managing reservations year-round, even when the main camping sites are closed for the winter. You can reach the team via the following contact information:
- Address: 1739 Old Concord Rd, Henniker, NH 03242, USA
- Phone: (603) 428-7741

What is worth choosing when it comes to Keyser Pond Campground is the sheer versatility of the experience. It is one of the few local gems that offers both traditional summer camping and winter-ready cabins. For a New Hampshire resident, the ability to access snowmobile trails directly across the street in the winter or enjoy a private beach in the summer makes it a dual-season winner. The campground is specifically worth choosing for its family-centric atmosphere; the staff is often willing to move sites to better accommodate a family’s needs, and the variety of play areas ensures that children are never bored.
Furthermore, the location in Henniker—known as "The Only Henniker on Earth"—puts you in a prime position to explore nearby attractions. You are minutes away from Pat's Peak for skiing or hiking, and close to the local shops and eateries of downtown Henniker. While the campground does have a high percentage of seasonal residents, this contributes to a secure and lived-in feeling that many families find comforting. If you are looking for a place that values tradition, community, and the rugged beauty of the New Hampshire woods, Keyser Pond Campground is a reliable and enjoyable choice for your next outdoor stay.

Customer Reviews
Ok, so the good news first, the views of the pond in the fall are beautiful. Now the not so great. With the exception of about 12 sites by the office, many of the sites near the pond are really small and are difficult to get into given the narrow road, short length of the sites and the trees and stumps that make maneuvering difficult. Second, Keyser Pond is about 60% “seasonal” residents so expect lots of permanent RVs with decks and add-ons. Third, the staff isn’t very customer focused and seemed bothered when asked questions and once we checked in, we never saw anyone again.Keyser Pond was one of the few RV parks open in late October so we didn’t have much choice, but if we did, we would have stayed elsewhere.
First time going here. Absolutely Amazing!!! Staff was all so nice and very welcoming. All the other campers were so friendly. I recommend 100%. I know I will be going back again. The staff changed our original sight because we got a smaller one to a larger sight to accommodate my family. My kids even said they want to move there because they loved it so much.
Nice like campground with a non swimming pond.nice area to have snow fights with your friend or lovers.
This is our second time staying at Keyser pond. We booked last year and while we enjoyed our stay, this year was even better. The campground, while small, offers nice wooded sites, clean bathrooms, friendly staff ( the owner helped us back our camper into a tricky site) and a quiet , low key, no frills atmosphere. This place isn’t fancy. It’s not one of those resort style places, but we were not looking for that. The pond / beach area was clean, and perfect for our three year old to swim and play. They had a great little office store stocked with essentials. They had a new playground structure and offered food trucks for something to eat if we wanted. I’d say the only negative was the highway noise, but obviously, something like that is beyond their control, and it wasn’t even that bad. We loved our site, which was right on the water. It offered views of the beautiful sunset!! We will be back.
Stayed for a weekend on sight 47, absolutely loved this campground. all staff are really nice and Eric the owner was very helpful guiding us to our site. bathrooms were nice and clean and the park has plenty of things for children to run around and do. will definitely be returning next season!
