Sandy Beach Campground stands as a versatile outdoor destination in the heart of New Hampshire, offering a unique blend of traditional camping and modern recreational facilities. Located in the charming village of Contoocook within the town of Hopkinton, this establishment serves multiple roles as a campground, a children's camp, and a comprehensive recreation center. For residents of New Hampshire, it provides a scenic escape that captures the tranquil essence of the Granite State’s wooded landscapes and freshwater shores. The park is designed to cater to a wide range of visitors, from families with young children seeking a safe place to play to RV travelers looking for a well-equipped home base for their New England adventures.

The atmosphere at Sandy Beach Campground is one of community and relaxation. The property is centered around a picturesque pond that offers iconic New Hampshire views, particularly during the sunset hours when the sky reflects off the calm water. As a facility that emphasizes family values, it has built a reputation for being both kid and pet-friendly, ensuring that every member of the family can enjoy the great outdoors. Whether you are looking to spend a quiet weekend in a tent or are planning an extended stay in a recreational vehicle, the campground provides a structured yet natural environment that encourages guests to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature.

Location and accessibility are among the top advantages of choosing Sandy Beach Campground. Situated at 677 Clement Hill Rd, Contoocook, NH 03229, the campground is conveniently located just a short drive from the state capital, Concord. This makes it an ideal spot for local New Hampshire residents who want a quick getaway without the stress of long-distance travel. The site is easily reached via major local routes, providing a seamless transition from the highway to the quiet, tree-lined entrance of the park. Its position in Merrimack County also places it near various "hidden gem" farms and local markets, allowing guests to explore the rural culture of the region.

The campground has made significant efforts to ensure that its facilities are inclusive and easy to navigate for all guests. Accessibility features are integrated throughout the property, including a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a designated wheelchair-accessible parking lot. Furthermore, the restroom facilities are designed to be wheelchair-accessible, ensuring that comfort and convenience are maintained for visitors with mobility challenges. The on-site parking is organized to provide easy access to the main recreation areas, the beach, and the individual campsites, reducing the need for long hauls of camping gear.

  • Comprehensive RV camping sites equipped with essential hookups, including specialized RV sewer hookups for long-term convenience.
  • Dedicated onsite services to assist guests with check-in, facility navigation, and local information.
  • A variety of campsite types ranging from shaded wooded lots to sites closer to the central water features.
  • Modern payment processing that accepts camping fees via credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments for a contactless experience.
  • On-site management and staff presence to ensure the safety and comfort of all campers throughout their stay.

The features and highlights of Sandy Beach Campground revolve around its waterfront location and its dedication to family fun. The "Sandy Beach" from which the park takes its name is a roped-in swimming area on the pond, providing a safe environment for children to swim and play in the water. For those who prefer land-based activities, the campground features a well-maintained playground that serves as a central hub for younger guests. The presence of a dedicated dog park and pet-friendly policies ensures that those traveling with dogs have the space and facilities needed to keep their pets active and happy.

  • Beautiful roped-in swimming beach on the pond, perfect for cooling off during the warm New Hampshire summer months.
  • Expansive playground area designed specifically for children, fostering a kid-friendly community environment.
  • Dedicated dog park area where pets can run off-leash in a secure, fenced environment.
  • Picnic areas and facilities that are ideal for outdoor meals and family gatherings under the trees.
