Lake George Camping Village Introduce

For those in the New York region looking to trade the concrete jungle for the whispering pines of the Adirondacks, Lake George Camping Village offers an authentic outdoor experience with the comforts of home. Located just a stone's throw from the vibrant Lake George Village main strip, this campground provides a unique "best of both worlds" scenario. It serves as a peaceful mountain sanctuary where you can wake up to the sound of birds and the smell of fresh pine, yet remain only minutes away from the excitement of world-class dining, shopping, and waterfront activities that define the Lake George area. Whether you are a seasoned RVer, a fan of cozy cabin life, or a traditional tent camper, this village is designed to be a home base for your next great New York adventure.

The campground is set in a lush, wooded environment that provides ample shade and privacy for its guests. Unlike more open, commercialized parks, Lake George Camping Village prides itself on its "nooks in the woods" feel, where each site is tucked into the natural terrain of the lower Adirondacks. This makes it a top choice for local New Yorkers who want to feel truly immersed in nature without sacrificing modern conveniences. The atmosphere is friendly and professional, with a staff known for their helpfulness—from sending prep-trip communications to assisting with late check-in procedures—ensuring that your transition into "vacation mode" is as smooth as possible.

Lake George Camping Village is conveniently located at 43 Finkle Farm Road, Lake George, NY 12845, USA. For residents traveling from the New York City or Albany areas, the campground is remarkably accessible, situated just 2.5 miles off I-87 (the Adirondack Northway). This prime location makes it an ideal spot not only for enjoying Lake George itself but also for taking day trips to nearby Saratoga Springs or exploring the High Peaks region further north. Its proximity to the main strip means you are only a three-minute drive or a manageable walk from the heart of the village attractions, yet the elevation and wooded setting of Finkle Farm Road keep the site quiet and secluded from the highway noise.

Accessibility is a priority at the village, ensuring that all campers can enjoy the facilities. The campground features wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms, making it an inclusive destination for travelers with mobility needs. The layout of the park is well-organized, with on-site parking available at your site and near central amenities. For those bringing large rigs, the park offers spacious sites that are relatively easy to navigate, though the wooded nature of the Adirondack terrain means some sites may require a bit of leveling—a small trade-off for the spectacular forest views.

The services offered at Lake George Camping Village are comprehensive, catering to a wide variety of camping styles and needs. The management focuses on providing "onsite services" that minimize the need for campers to leave the park for basics. Key services include:

  • Full RV hookups including electric (20/30/50 amp), water, and sewer connections for a seamless stay.
  • Dedicated camping cabins equipped with air conditioning and heating, perfect for those who want a roof over their heads.
  • Clean, regularly maintained public restrooms and hot showers, often praised by guests for their cleanliness even during peak leaf-peeping season.
  • On-site laundry facilities, allowing for longer stays without the worry of running out of fresh clothes.
  • A well-stocked camp store providing firewood, snacks, and essential camping supplies.
  • Flexible payment options including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments for all fees and purchases.
  • Enhanced Wi-Fi services available at the office and pool area to help you stay connected if needed.

Beyond the basics, the features and highlights of the park are what truly set it apart as a premier family destination. The facility is packed with activities designed to keep both children and adults entertained throughout their stay. Some of the most notable features include:

  • Two heated swimming pools (open Memorial Day to Labor Day) that provide a perfect cooling-off spot after a day of exploring.
  • Extensive nature trails right on the property, perfect for hiking and spotting local Adirondack wildlife.
  • A dedicated playground and game room, ensuring that kids have plenty of space to play and socialize.
  • Weekly outdoor movies under the stars, a favorite tradition for many returning families.
  • Recreational courts for basketball, sand volleyball, pickleball, and shuffleboard.
  • Pet-friendly accommodations, where well-behaved dogs are welcomed to join the family on their camping trip.
  • Specific "kid-friendly hikes" nearby that offer manageable terrain with rewarding views for younger explorers.

When considering where to park your RV or pitch your tent in the Lake George area, Lake George Camping Village is worth choosing for its exceptional balance of location and serenity. While many campgrounds in the area can feel either too remote or too crowded, this park manages to offer a "backwoods" atmosphere that is remarkably close to civilization. It is worth choosing for the quality of its cabins—site #25, for example, is frequently cited by guests as a "fantastic" experience. The friendly, proactive communication from the staff ensures that you feel like a valued guest rather than just another reservation number.

Furthermore, the park is an excellent value for families. With children-focused amenities like the playground, outdoor movies, and heated pools, it provides a "resort" feel within a traditional campground setting. The fact that the restrooms are cleaned with such regularity—even during the muddy off-season—speaks to the pride the management takes in the facility. Whether you are looking for a summer week filled with swimming and hiking or a cozy October weekend in a cabin to witness the changing colors of the Adirondacks, Lake George Camping Village provides the perfect backdrop for creating "Memories to Last a Lifetime" in the heart of New York.

Great campground close to Lake George main strip. Also worked great for a day trip to Saratoga Springs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Full hook ups, roomy sites, great WiFi. Used the laundry, which was fine. Did not used the pool, but others did, and it looked really nice. We definately return, when in the area again.

We stayed at the beginning of the off-season (mid-October) in one of the small cabins. It was truly a delightful experience. The staff were great, from the prep-email communications and calling to let us share late checkin procedures (we didn’t get there till right before 7 pm) to letting us know what what happening in town during our stay. The campground’s location was perfect to enjoy activities all along Lake George/the lower Adirondack’s. The cabin (25) was fantastic, couldn’t have asked for more. The restrooms were clearly cleaned regularly, even with constantly leaves tracked in, etc. ☺️ I have already recommended this campground to all my friend and hope to rebook the same long weekend next October!!

We dont normally go to the same campground more than once,as we like to experience other places. We have been going to Lake George Camping Village for several years now and have always had a great experience! The staff is friendly and eager to make your stay a memorable experience! The ownership is constantly upgrading the facility. There's something new every time we go there! If you're looking for a family friendly place, convenient to Lake George and all the surrounding areas we absolutely recommend Lake George Camping Village!!

Your campsite is close to our home so any time we have to work we are close. Enjoy bringing the kayaks and floating on the nearby waters. U=If we want crowds we just head to Lake George for 10 or 15 minutes and then come back for peace and relative quiet. The folks at the front desk are as accommodating as they can be. Looking forward to spending 9 nights this June.

Don't hesitate to book. Our favorite stop on our last trip. It was quieter and well maintained with very nice pool. Sites are private. Skip the KOA corporate places. We stayed with them also and it was no comparison in quality to the Camping Village. Highly recommend.
