For New Yorkers seeking the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and convenient accessibility, Lake George Campsites stands as a premier destination in the southern Adirondacks. Situated in Queensbury, this family-oriented campground serves as an ideal home base for those who want to experience the majesty of the "Queen of American Lakes" without sacrificing modern comforts. The property is designed to cater to a wide range of camping styles, from traditionalists pitching tents under the towering pines to travelers arriving in luxury RVs or those seeking the structured comfort of a fully equipped cottage. The atmosphere is consistently described by local visitors as quiet and respectful, providing a peaceful sanctuary even during the peak summer months when the region is buzzing with activity.

What sets this location apart is its ability to offer a "woodsy" feel while being just minutes away from the major attractions that define the Lake George experience. For long-term seasonal campers and weekend warriors alike, the park offers a stable, well-managed environment where the rules are clear and the community spirit is high. The facility is meticulously maintained, with a focus on cleanliness and guest satisfaction that has earned it a loyal following among New York residents. Whether you are looking for a summer-long seasonal spot or a short autumn retreat to witness the famous Adirondack foliage, this campground provides a versatile and welcoming setting for all types of travelers.

Location and accessibility are among the most significant advantages for guests staying here. Located at 1053 US-9, Queensbury, NY 12804, the campground is positioned right off the Adirondack Northway (I-87), making it incredibly easy to reach for travelers coming from the Capital Region or New York City. Its central location puts visitors a mere 10 minutes from the heart of Lake George Village and the city of Glens Falls. This proximity means that while you are technically camping in the woods, you are within walking distance or a very short drive of popular spots like Six Flags Great Escape, Northway Brewing Co., and the iconic Martha’s Dandee Creme. For those who prioritize ease of travel, the wide entrance and well-laid-out interior roads make navigating even the largest RV rigs a stress-free process.

The commitment to accessibility extends to the facilities as well. Lake George Campsites features wheelchair-accessible entrances, a designated parking lot, and restrooms designed to accommodate all guests. This inclusivity ensures that family members of all ages and abilities can enjoy the recreational offerings of the park. Furthermore, the on-site parking is ample and conveniently located near the various amenities, allowing guests to spend less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying the fresh mountain air.

The services offered at Lake George Campsites are comprehensive, designed to provide a "full-service" experience that meets the needs of modern campers. When considering the numerous lodging options in the Warren County area, what is worth choosing Lake George Campsites is the unparalleled balance of tranquility and convenience. While some regional parks are either too remote or too crowded, this campground manages to find the "sweet spot." It offers the quietude expected of a mountain retreat but keeps you close enough to civilization that you can easily grab a meal or visit a world-class theme park within minutes. For New Yorkers who value a clean, safe, and family-friendly environment, the consistent upkeep of the pool and laundry facilities makes it a dependable choice year after year.

Furthermore, the value for seasonal campers is exceptional. The ability to secure a site from early spring through the late autumn (often through Columbus Day) allows residents to truly embrace the change of seasons in the Adirondacks. Choosing this location also means you are supporting a business with a staff that genuinely cares about the guest experience. Whether it is John providing a great seasonal rate or Cindy assisting with a specific request, the human element at Lake George Campsites is what truly makes it feel like a second home. If you are looking for a place where you can relax by the fire, splash in a clean pool, and explore the best of New York’s north country, Lake George Campsites is the definitive choice.

Would you like me to help you compare the different cottage styles available at this location or perhaps look into the specific pet policies for the rental units?

The best location!!! close to Lake George and Queensbury. The campground is quiet even when it's full. Nice Laundry facilities and pool is always clean. Staff here are extremely accommodating and friendly. John gave us a great rate to stay for the beginning of August through Columbus day. A lot of people complain about the Northway noise but it doesn't bother us. If you sleep with white noise, you don't hear it inside. Just a great place to be a seasonal. No one bothers you as long as you stick to the rules which isn't hard to do.

We stayed (3 nights) in our camper, so I didn't think it fair to give myself five stars for the rooms 😀. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating!!! Cindy was more than willing to assist us with anything we requested! Maintenance staff was friendly, and good natured. The full hookups where easy, and well maintained. The playground area was great according to the kids, and the pool was clean. As for the road noise, we knew how close the highway was by looking at a map before we planned our trip, and had no issues with the noise be disturbing.

The cabins were fantastic! Roomy and cozy, while providing all a family will need at a great price. A great alternative to those who cannot afford or have a camper or RV option. The campground is very nice with exceptional staff and service. Great location next to many attractions including Six Flags right up the road. We will come back again!

Clean campground with well-kept facilities. My site was extremely tight, and even as an experienced camper it took me about 45 minutes to get parked. The campground is also very close to the highway, and the road noise was very noticeable even over the RV air conditioner. If you’re looking for a clean and affordable place to stay, this will work. If you prefer larger sites and a quieter escape, you may want to look elsewhere.

We’ve been camping at LGC for over 25 years now and we just love the location and the close proximity to many area attractions. This year due to my husband’s progressing illness, we asked to switch our site to one we’d had in the past that was closer to the bathrooms. The staff was extremely kind in accommodating our request, and although there has been a lot of turnover of campground managers in our years of camping here, this current staff was the friendliest and most helpful. Unfortunately due to my husband’s illness, this will likely be our last visit, so we were very grateful for such pleasant and accommodating staff. We have enjoyed many years camping at Lake George Campsites and will have many happy memories to look back on.P.s. Our little French Bulldog especially loved the ducky machine in the arcade-his favorite toy in the world.
