Location and Accessibility
Located at 8650 Lake Somerset Rd, Westover, MD 21871, the campground is strategically positioned for easy access. For those traveling from the Baltimore or Annapolis areas, the journey across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge leads directly into the heart of the Eastern Shore, with the park sitting roughly two hours from the bridge. Its proximity to U.S. Route 13 makes it a convenient stop for travelers, though visitors should note that the convenience of the highway does bring some audible road noise to the front-facing sites. The surrounding area is flat and scenic, typical of Somerset County's rural charm.
Accessibility is a priority at Lake Somerset Family Campground. The facility features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a spacious, accessible parking lot to accommodate guests with various mobility needs. On-site restrooms are also designed with accessibility in mind. Most of the primary amenities, including the general store and pool area, are connected by flat paths consisting of sand, mulch, or gravel. While the natural terrain of the Eastern Shore can be sandy, the campground makes every effort to ensure that its facilities are usable for everyone in the family, including those using strollers or mobility aids.

What is Worth Choosing
When comparing campgrounds in the Maryland region, Lake Somerset Family Campground is worth choosing for its exceptional focus on child-friendly activities and its welcoming "good for kids" atmosphere. The combination of the petting zoo and the pool creates an environment where children are never bored, and the proximity of the playground to the campsites allows parents to relax while keeping an eye on their little ones. It is an ideal choice for families who want the benefits of a resort-style park without the commercialized, high-stress environment of beachfront campgrounds.
Additionally, the park is a premier choice for pet owners. Being "dogs allowed" means your four-legged family members can enjoy the nature trails and the outdoor lifestyle right alongside you, provided they follow the standard leash rules. For RV owners, the availability of spacious pull-through sites and the on-site propane and pump-out services make the logistical side of camping easy. If you value a quiet, safe, and clean environment managed by people who truly care about the Eastern Shore community, Lake Somerset provides the perfect backdrop for your next outdoor adventure.

Customer Reviews
We stayed near the playground and it was perfect for our family. The kids had a blast going back and forth between the swings, the animal area, and the pool. Everything was clean and well taken care of.The staff was really friendly and made us feel welcome right away. It’s a quiet campground with a relaxed vibe, and the other campers were nice too.
Nice park with average sized lots. Pretty extreme highway noise though. Lots are a combination of sand/mulch/gravel and lend to tracking a lot of debris in to the RV. Nice amenities: pool, camp store, LP, plenty of social areas, stocked fishing pond, clean showers. Security gate, well lit, owners on site.
This place is absolutely amazing! We came in for what was suppose to be a single weekend trip and ended up staying for 3 weeks and we have already booked for another 2 weeks during Halloween. There is plenty here to do to keep the kids occupied. The corn hole area is unmatched. It’s a well lit and set up area with lots of fun and competitive tournaments. The people here are friendly and kind. There’s way too much to say about this place to put in this review. We have nothing negative to say about it what so ever. If you haven’t been here yet you should definitely check it out!
This is a great tucked away campground with so many great options for kids! We will be back!
Maiden voyage for me and my little new to me RV. Park seems to be filled with seasonal folks that are very kind and welcoming. I called that morning and was able to get a nice pull-in spot. Bath house was clean, very nice pool, playground for the children, little animal park. Animal park. Nice lake with some ducks and Canadian geese. And you can hear the frogs croaking in the background. Nice walking path back to goat Island. They even have paddle boats and canoes to rent, and bocce ball. Also saw a sand volleyball area. Plenty to do and keep kids amused as well. Pet friendly and the animals were well behaved and no problems seen that were left for others to clean up or step in. Very nice. Little Park would definitely recommend and stay again. Rates were very reasonable. Had $55 a night with water and electric, and fire ring and picnic table.
