Moose Hillock Camping Resorts - NY Introduce
Moose Hillock Camping Resort in Fort Ann, New York, is a standout destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a "glamping" experience within the majestic Adirondack Park. Spanning over 180 pristine acres, this resort has quickly become a favorite for those who want the rugged beauty of the New York wilderness without sacrificing modern luxuries. Often described as a "tropical paradise in the mountains," Moose Hillock is famous for its massive heated swimming pool and its commitment to providing some of the most private and spacious campsites in the Northeast. For New York residents, it offers a high-end alternative to traditional state parks, focusing on resort-style entertainment and top-tier facilities.
The atmosphere at Moose Hillock is distinctly geared toward family fun and active recreation. While many campgrounds pack trailers side-by-side, this resort prides itself on "wooded privacy," ensuring that each site is a secluded sanctuary carved directly into the forest. The park’s layout and management style cater to those who appreciate order and cleanliness, with a dedicated staff that keeps the grounds meticulously maintained. Whether you are splashing in the Aloha Beach pool during a hot July afternoon or gathering around a natural stone fireplace under the stars, the resort provides a balanced environment where the excitement of a water park meets the serenity of the Adirondack woods.
Location and accessibility are key components of the Moose Hillock experience. Situated at 10366 NY-149, Fort Ann, NY 12827, the resort is located at the strategic corner of Tripoli Road and Route 149. This placement makes it incredibly accessible for travelers coming from the New York City or Albany areas via Interstate 87 (The Northway), taking Exit 20. It is perfectly positioned less than 10 miles from the heart of Lake George Village, allowing guests to enjoy the "Queen of American Lakes," Six Flags Great Escape, and the Lake George Outlets within minutes. Despite its proximity to these major tourist hubs, the resort itself remains shielded from highway noise, preserving the quiet mountain ambiance that campers crave.
Within the resort, accessibility is a priority. The facility features wheelchair accessible entrances, parking lots, and specialized restroom facilities to ensure all guests can enjoy the "Moose Hillock experience." The roads are designed to be "big rig friendly," with level, oversized sites that make backing in a large RV or fifth-wheel trailer straightforward even for novice drivers. For those who prefer to leave the driving to the professionals, the resort’s location is also a convenient base for exploring the wider region, from the historic sites of Fort Edward to the hiking trails of the High Peaks.
The services offered at Moose Hillock Camping Resort are designed to provide a comprehensive, all-in-one vacation. Recognizing that modern campers often travel with a variety of needs, the resort provides everything from high-speed connectivity to on-site dining. The "onsite services" focus on convenience, ensuring that once you pull into your site, you rarely have to leave the property for essentials. From full utility hookups that include cable TV to a poolside cafe that serves hot meals, the resort functions as a self-contained village during the peak summer months.

The features and highlights of Moose Hillock are what truly set it apart from other New York campgrounds. The "Aloha Beach" tropical swimming pool is the resort's claim to fame, touted as the largest heated campground pool in the Northeast. This isn't just a standard pool; it features a Caribbean-style beach entry, waterfalls, caves, and two massive water slides that are a favorite for children. The entertainment program is equally robust, featuring a 400-seat pavilion that hosts live bands, magic shows, and the famous "Swim-in Theater" where families can watch movies while floating in the heated water.
- Massive Aloha Beach heated pool with waterslides, fountains, and LED night lighting.
- Sites measuring up to 45x100 feet, providing exceptional privacy and space for any size RV.

What is worth choosing about Moose Hillock is the uncompromising quality of the infrastructure and the "resort" feel that permeates the property. In the competitive Lake George camping market, this location is worth choosing because it solves the two biggest complaints of frequent campers: small sites and dirty facilities. At Moose Hillock, you are paying for the luxury of space and the peace of mind that comes with a professionally managed site. The pool alone is worth the price of admission for families with children, providing a safe and exciting environment that rivals many dedicated water parks.
Furthermore, it is worth choosing for the strategic "home base" it provides. You get the quietness of the Fort Ann woods while being just minutes away from the high-energy attractions of Lake George and Saratoga. While the rules are strictly enforced to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere, the result is a campground that is quiet after 10:00 PM and safe for kids to explore on their bikes. For New Yorkers looking for a professional, factual, and high-quality outdoor experience, Moose Hillock Camping Resort stands as a premier choice that consistently delivers on its promise of "Glamping in the Adirondacks."

Customer Reviews
Beautiful campgrounds. While a bit pricey, you get what you pay for. Sites are very large and private. The grounds are well kept. The bathrooms and showers are the best maintained we have been to. For 25 cents, you get an awesome hot shower with plenty of water flow for a reasonable time in a private very clean stall. Staff here are very amicable and efficient and plentiful. Cafe and camp store prices are high but the food quality at the small snack stand is great. The large heated pool with two slides is really enjoyable. Could use a bit of maintenance only for highlights like the night lights on the skull and the 'sprays' on the decorative rocks that no longer work. However, those don't detract from the pure enjoyment you get in the pool. Lots of extra events for participation. Really enjoy this gem of a campground!
Location is key! Great location, what they had for staff there was friendly. Sites are huge and make it really easy to back a RV in. The water slides and pool were every kids dream. The events were great, and we loved the movie in the pool. When you first got there it felt like there were a lot of rules, but they are pretty relaxed as long as you’re not acting like a jerk. Golf carts were fun, pricey but not needed if you are on a “budget” There is parking at the pool area for vehicles. We would camp with moose hillock again, but I wouldn’t pay the extra to lock in my site. All the sites are really nice.
The positives were Awesome big campsites with wooded surroundings which provide some privacy.Second, The huge pool was Amazing. The negatives were we chose this campground for the movie in the pool feature and had brought a bunch of things to heighten this event for the best experience. When we got there on Saturday we were told they only show movies at the pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays which we did not see written anywhere prior to booking and choosing this place over all the others. Very disappointing as we all looked forward to this experience we had to leave without.Third positive was Jack the employee at the pool gate would open the doors to gates every time people were entering or exiting. This was not part of his job description and he did it with a smile.Second negative was the bathroom showers needed Lots of quarters to shower for each person. If you didn’t bring enough you left soapy. For a “Resort” campground you pay hotel prices for your site and they all have included showers. Not here.
This place is exactly what you expect it to be. Absolutely fantastic for little kiddos as the pool gradually increases from one INCH to about four feet at the deep end. The shallow “beach” has a bunch of little geysers that kids love to play in. Staff is great, grounds are well kept, sites are private enough that you have plenty of privacy unless you choose to wander. Just FYI: if you plan on using their showers instead of your RV, bring quarters. Overall, five stars!
Spent about a week here towards the end of August. Exceptional private sites. Site 133 accommodated our 45ft 5W with ease. Lots to do for the kids and very cool golf carts available as an extra. It’s a bit pricey but well worth it for young families. We will definitely be returning very soon. Close enough to all the ADK activities and Rutland VT but just enough removed to avoid the hustle and bustle of the town. Staff has been very friendly, pool is great and the food was even good from the cafe. Thank you Moose Hillock!
