With a history of welcoming seasonal guests and weekend travelers alike, the staff at Mountain Springs Camping Resort emphasizes hospitality and variety. Whether you are looking for a quiet weekend by a fishing pond or an action-packed holiday filled with themed festivities, this resort provides the infrastructure to support your ideal getaway. For Pennsylvania residents, it represents a nearby escape that feels worlds away, nestled near the famous Appalachian Trail and the rolling hills of Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
The location and accessibility of Mountain Springs Camping Resort make it an ideal basecamp for exploring Eastern Pennsylvania. Situated at 3450 Mountain Rd, Hamburg, PA 19526, the resort is conveniently located just off Interstate 78, making it easily reachable from Philadelphia, Allentown, and Harrisburg. Its central location puts guests within minutes of world-renowned attractions such as the Cabela’s retail flagship and the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. For history buffs and shoppers, the resort acts as a gateway to the various historical sites and antique shops that define the Reading and Hamburg areas.
Accessibility is a key feature of the resort’s design. The property includes a free on-site parking lot and is structured to accommodate large rigs and "big rig" travelers with ease. For guests with mobility considerations, the resort offers wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and parking facilities. This commitment to inclusion ensures that all members of the family can enjoy the mountain air and resort amenities without barriers. The terrain is a mix of wooded and open sites, providing options for those who prefer the shade of the forest or those who need clear sky access for satellite and solar equipment.

When choosing a campground in the Berks County region, Mountain Springs Camping Resort is worth choosing for its incredible balance of price, location, and community. For families with young children, the sheer volume of "kid-friendly" activities makes it a standout choice. The inclusion of a dedicated kiddie pool and regular wagon rides ensures that even the youngest campers have a memorable time. Unlike more remote wilderness camps, Mountain Springs provides a social atmosphere where kids can make friends at the playground while parents enjoy the community-oriented events like the "snack walk" or dances.
Furthermore, the value provided by the resort is highly competitive for the Eastern Pennsylvania region. Guests receive access to a wide array of amenities—including free fishing and swimming—for a price that is often more accessible than neighboring high-end resorts. The proximity to local landmarks means you can spend your morning hiking the Appalachian Trail or birdwatching at Hawk Mountain and be back at your campsite for a poolside lunch in minutes. Whether you are a seasonal resident looking for a summer home or a weekend warrior seeking a quick escape from the city, Mountain Springs Camping Resort offers a reliable, fun, and quintessentially Pennsylvanian experience that keeps guests returning year after year.

Customer Reviews
Very central location for a lot of historical and interesting places. By East Coast standards the sites are average, meaning no separation between sites, neighbors sewer hookup right by your picnic area. Staff was very friendly and nice, but...Located close to a rifle range so you hear guns all day, showers never got warm for us during our 4-day stay, sewer pipes were uphill from my RV Connection, so make sure to bring a slinky and even then you will probably have to manually manipulate the hose. They should not advertise Wi-Fi, I was maybe 60 yards from the office where they say it works best and was unable to stream anything. There was a sewer rupture in the playground while we were there, forcing them to close the playground. The water was also undrinkable According to some fine print upon check-in. Laundry room utilizes a specific app that you have to download and put a minimum of $20 on. If you don't have 20 bucks worth of laundry I'm not sure what you do. Also the laundry machines were not working and no one on site had any idea how to address that, so I spent 45 minutes on the phone figuring out how to get my washer and dryer going because they had some sort of system glitch. 80 to 90% of the occupants are either seasonal or full-timers. Big Halloween festivities which was awesome for the kids, golf cart parade, dance, food, games. If you have little ones it's probably great. Dog run is very small, not much to walk to except for through the manufactured home park and Campground, no trails. Pricing is better than most in the area, but services reflect that savings.
We love this campground! We have been multiple times this year due the close proximity and fun campground. The pool is great! Perfect kiddie pool for toddlers! The snack shack is wonderful! The sites are nice and level. We always have a good time at this campground!
My family any I stayed at Mountain Spring for the first weekend in October ($70/night). Pros: It was easy to get to, about 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain, no problems with parking the camper, the site was level, full hookup, just enough grass for our dog. Didn't have much interaction with staff, but they seemed nice.Cons: The place was packed. We were in row F. The sites on the other side of our road were seasonal. Most are all gravel, little to no grass. Pull through spots were so close some awnings were inches from the back of their neighbor's camper. It almost felt like tailgating in a parking lot.If you're after peace and tranquility, this is not it. The grounds are clean, but not well maintained. For example, there is a pond, but it's nothing to look at and didn't seem healthy. Most of the arcade games and the pool table were broken. The store left a lot to be desired as well. We didn't see the draw other than how well they did Halloween. It was chock full of fun Halloween festivities. There was a live band that played 3 sets until 10:30 and the band was great... Which is good since we were right next to the pavilion.
There is plenty of camper spaces available for use! Electric and water hook-ups are on each site, plus a picnic table and fire ring are included at each site too! If you don't have a camper or don't want to tent camp, they also have small cabins for rent as well. We love the campground and return every year!!
A peaceful place with good people. Close to shopping, but wooded enough to really feel like you got away from civilization.
