Ocean View Resort Campground Introduce

Ocean View Resort Campground (OVR) stands as New Jersey's largest privately owned campground, offering an expansive 180-acre wooded retreat designed specifically for family-oriented recreation. For local residents and visitors across the Tri-State area, OVR has become a premier destination that bridges the gap between traditional rustic camping and modern resort living. With over 1,100 campsites, the resort provides a community-focused atmosphere where children can explore safely and families can enjoy a high-density amenity environment. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a seasonal summer home, this facility serves as a comprehensive hub for outdoor life in South Jersey.

The spirit of Ocean View Resort is rooted in its "Happy Camper" philosophy, which has guided its operations since 1960. The resort is characterized by its shaded, mature tree canopy that provides relief from the summer sun, and its internal infrastructure designed for ease of movement, including its own tram car system. Unlike smaller, more secluded parks, OVR thrives on its scale, offering a vibrant and active social scene that includes themed weekends, special events, and an environment where biking and walking are the primary modes of transportation. It is a place where the proximity to the Jersey Shore is matched only by the sheer variety of activities available within the resort’s gates.

Location and Accessibility are among the most significant advantages for guests choosing Ocean View Resort. Situated at 2555 Shore Rd, Ocean View, NJ 08230, the campground is strategically positioned midway between the historic charm of Cape May and the high-energy excitement of Atlantic City. For local campers, it is located just three miles from the safe, sandy beaches of Sea Isle City and within a 15-minute drive of Ocean City’s world-famous boardwalk. Its proximity to the Garden State Parkway makes it exceptionally accessible for travelers coming from North Jersey or the Philadelphia suburbs.

Accessibility within the resort is a priority, ensuring that guests with mobility challenges can enjoy the facilities. The main office features ground-level entry and wheelchair-accessible restrooms. There are dedicated handicap parking spaces located near the office, the swimming pool, and the lake walkway. To assist with movement around the large property, paved roads and concrete walkways lead to major hubs like the pool and the lake area. The lake itself features a concrete walkway designed to reach near the water's edge, and the pool is equipped with a lift for inclusive access. Several of the modern bathhouses on-site are also designated as handicap accessible, ensuring comfort for all visitors.

Services Offered at Ocean View Resort Campground are designed to cater to a wide range of needs, from basic tent sites to luxury vacation rentals. The facility is a full-service RV park with infrastructure that supports even the largest modern rigs. Key services include:

  • RV Camping with full sewer, water, and cable TV hookups at every site.
  • Electrical services ranging from standard 20/30 amp to heavy-duty 50 amp hookups.
  • Cabin rentals starting from $92.00, providing a rustic yet comfortable alternative to tenting.
  • Log cabin and luxury cottage rentals, with cottages offering all the comforts of home for weekly stays.
  • A massive 4,000-square-foot camping store selling food, RV parts, apparel, and beach gear.
  • On-site services including propane sales, ice, firewood, and three separate laundromat facilities.
  • Flexible payment options including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments.
  • 24-hour security and gate-controlled access for peace of mind.

Features and Highlights of the resort provide endless entertainment for families, ensuring that there is never a dull moment during a stay. The recreation facilities are among the most extensive in the region, including:

  • A large 40-foot by 120-foot swimming pool and a modern splash pad for younger children.
  • A expansive fresh-water lake featuring a white sandy beach for swimming and sunbathing.
  • Water-based activities including rentals for paddle boats, kayaks, and paddleboards.
  • A stocked fishing pond (Greenbriar Pond) dedicated to catch-and-release family fun.
  • An 18-hole miniature golf course and a dedicated arcade for gamers.
  • Multiple playgrounds and sports facilities, including tennis, basketball, pickleball, and beach volleyball courts.
  • The OVR Tram Car, which provides free transportation throughout the campground to reach various amenities.
  • Pet-friendly policies that welcome dogs and provide a community environment for pet owners.
  • Two on-site cafes providing casual dining options and snacks for campers.

For those interested in booking a stay or seeking more details, the Contact Information is readily available. You can reach the registration office at (609) 624-1675 or use the mobile-friendly number +1 609-624-1675. The resort is located at 2555 Shore Rd, Ocean View, NJ 08230. During the peak season, which typically runs from mid-April to mid-October, the office is open daily to assist with reservations. Due to high demand, the management recommends using their online reservation request system for priority processing, especially for holiday weekends like the 4th of July or Labor Day.

What is worth choosing at Ocean View Resort depends on the type of shore experience you desire. For RV owners who want a "resort-style" home base, the 50-amp pull-through sites are worth choosing for their ease of access and comprehensive hookups. These sites allow you to enjoy the coastal lifestyle without sacrificing the modern conveniences of your vehicle. Families with young children will find the splash pad and the lake-side activities particularly valuable, as they provide built-in entertainment that minimizes the need to pack up and drive to the beach every day.

If you do not own an RV but want to experience the campground lifestyle, the cottage rentals are a standout choice. These units offer an "affordable shore home" experience, allowing you to stay for a week with full kitchen and bathroom facilities while enjoying the gated community feel. Furthermore, the on-site camping store is worth visiting just for its sheer variety; it is often cited by travelers as one of the most comprehensive camp stores in the state, ensuring you never have to leave the grounds for parts or essentials. Ultimately, OVR is worth choosing for its balance of security, family-friendly atmosphere, and its perfect location near the best beaches of New Jersey.

I loved this campground for these specific reasons.1. Family friendly2.great atmosphere3.really close to the beachI went here with my family one time and it was the best experience I’ve had at campgrounds. Cars go really slow so you can bike ride freely. Pool is warm not freezing cold. Lake is huge and refreshing. The people there are really nice, no need to lock your doors. One thing that I disagree with is that all the campsites are really close together so I feel like we don’t get a lot of privacy. But it does bring the people closer together. If you want somewhere to go for vacation go to ovr!

We are on season 7 and have been 32,000 miles and 18 states. Ocean view resort is top 3 we have been too. This place is awesome. The pool, the lake, the train, the special events, it was all really great! It’s all about the family with tons of kids. Highly recommend this place.

We love staying at a Family Owned and Ran campground. It is great to see the owner out and about working, talking to his customers and caring about his business. The Turner family always cares about the customer. Oceanview is clean and well ran. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It’s close to Sea Isle City and definitely a fun environment for a family vacation.

We recently stayed at Ocean View Campground and it was one of the best camping experiences we've ever had! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean, well-maintained, and beautifully laid out everything was.The campsites were spacious, private, and surrounded by nature, offering just the right balance of comfort and wilderness. Whether you're in a tent, RV, or cabin, there's a spot for everyone. We appreciated the level gravel pads, fire rings, and picnic tables, all in great condition. The amenities were outstanding—clean restrooms and hot showers, reliable hookups, and even a well-stocked camp store. There were plenty of activities for all ages, including a swimming pool, and a playground for the kids and a sandy lake. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always available with a smile or a recommendation for things to do in the area.Peaceful nights under the stars, mornings with birdsong, and all the little thoughtful touches made our stay unforgettable. We’re already planning our next trip back. Highly recommend Ocean View to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable outdoor getaway!

Our campsite is less private than we hoped, with a lot of campsites close together. But the campground is so peaceful with endless fun things to do at the campground and the surrounding area. We wish we could stay longer.Thank you for replying. We are currently located in the G section, but I don’t think my husband will want to pack up to move to another campsite. The more private ones are probably all full. I heard tomorrow is booked thru the weekend so probably not too many options left. The reservation is under my husband’s name, not mine.
