Paradise Park Campground Introduce

For those of us living in the New York region, specifically around the picturesque Finger Lakes, finding a retreat that feels like home is a top priority. Paradise Park Campground, located in Reading Center, serves as a quintessential example of the warm, community-focused outdoor hospitality that defines Upstate New York. This is not just a place to park a trailer or pitch a tent; it is a long-standing institution where families have been building memories for over thirty years. Managed by the well-known local owner, Sam, the park is celebrated for its approachable, "old-school" charm and a genuine focus on the happiness of its youngest visitors.

The atmosphere at Paradise Park is distinctively friendly and unpretentious. While some modern resorts focus on high-tech amenities, this campground prides itself on traditional values: safety, friendliness, and a sense of belonging. It has become a sanctuary for many New Yorkers who seek a seasonal home away from home. From long-term campers who have seen their children grow into adults on these grounds to those who have turned to the park during unexpected life transitions, the community here is resilient and welcoming. It is the kind of place where neighbors know each other by name and the owner is personally involved in the daily operations and guest satisfaction.

Location and accessibility are major draws for this specific campground. Situated at 4150 Cross Rd, Reading Center, NY 14876, Paradise Park is strategically located just minutes away from the world-famous Watkins Glen State Park and the shimmering waters of Seneca Lake. This makes it an ideal base camp for local users who want to explore the Finger Lakes wine trails, visit the Watkins Glen International racetrack, or hike the stunning gorge trails. The park is easily accessible via New York State Route 14 and Route 14A, ensuring that even large RV rigs can navigate the approach with ease. Furthermore, the facility has made significant efforts to be inclusive, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom facilities to accommodate all guests.

The services offered at Paradise Park Campground reflect its commitment to being a full-service destination for both transient and seasonal visitors. Beyond providing a spot to stay, the park acts as a resource for the local RV community. The services provided include:

  • Onsite services to assist campers with their daily needs and site maintenance.
  • A robust selection of used RVs and campers for sale directly through the owner, perfect for those looking to enter the camping lifestyle at an affordable price point.
  • Flexible camping options ranging from short-term weekend stays to full-season arrangements.
  • Comprehensive utility hookups for RVs, including water and electrical services.
  • Convenient payment processing that accepts credit cards, debit cards, and traditional methods.
  • Assistance for "handy" campers with used units that may need minor repairs or customization.
  • Professional onsite management focused on maintaining a safe and quiet environment for all families.

The features and highlights of Paradise Park Campground are designed to cater to the classic camping experience where relaxation and play take center stage. The park is particularly noted for its kid-friendly environment, making it a staple for New York families. Key highlights include:

  • A well-maintained playground that serves as the central hub for children’s activities and social interaction.
  • Pet-friendly policies that allow for dogs, ensuring that the four-legged members of your family aren't left behind.
  • Dedicated picnic tables at sites to encourage outdoor dining and evening gatherings.
  • Clean and accessible public restrooms and shower facilities.
  • Ample on-site parking for both residents and their guests.
  • A sprawling, scenic layout that provides a sense of space and privacy even during busy holiday weekends.
  • Proximity to the major attractions of the Southern Tier, including local breweries, wineries, and hiking trails.

If you are looking to book a stay or inquire about the current inventory of used campers, the contact information is straightforward. You can reach the park office at (607) 535-6600. The physical address for navigation and visits is 4150 Cross Rd, Reading Center, NY 14876, USA. Because this is a popular spot for seasonal campers and often fills up during major Watkins Glen events, it is highly recommended to call ahead to discuss availability and rates for the upcoming summer season.

What is worth choosing about Paradise Park Campground is the human element that is often missing from larger, corporate-owned parks. You are choosing a place where the owner, Sam, is known for his kindness and his ability to "squeeze in" families even during the busiest holiday weekends. It is worth choosing if you value a community that looks out for one another—a fact proven by the many residents who have transitioned from temporary guests to permanent seasonal campers. For those who are handy with tools, the opportunity to purchase a reasonably priced used RV and customize it within the park creates a unique and affordable path to vacation home ownership in the heart of the Finger Lakes.

Ultimately, Paradise Park represents the "friendly and fun" side of New York camping. It may be an older facility, but its heart is huge, and its location is unbeatable. Whether you are looking for a weekend escape from the city or a long-term summer residence where your kids can play safely, this campground provides a factual, reliable, and heartwarming option for the local community. Choosing Paradise Park means choosing a legacy of family fun that has spanned over three decades and continues to thrive under dedicated local leadership.

Would you like me to help you draft a checklist of questions to ask when looking at the used RVs for sale at Paradise Park, or perhaps a list of local Reading Center attractions to visit during your stay?

Due to a housefire last year, we needed a place to temporary live with the RV camper. It was during a holiday weekend and they managed to squeeze us into a spot. We end up buying another camper from the owner, Sam. We have now become seasonal campers at the park. Hopefully this year we can actually enjoy it and not put it together to live in. Sam has a lot of really good used RVs for sale, especially if you’re handy with tools as they do need a little tender, loving care looking forward for some relaxing moments at Paradise Park campground this summer .

We spent memorial Day weekend here and we absolutely loved it We rented a cabin and it was only $160 for three nights. We loved it here Sam is awesome and everybody else out here is awesome. Don't listen to all the rumors and the reviews that talks negative because we have a wonderful time and we were welcomed by everyone regardless if we were seasonal campers or not

Close enough to Watkins Glen but there were some aspects I wasn’t very happy with as a tent camper. For starters, the campground is also an RV lot for those that move in for the summer, and our tent plot was right next to an RV group doing construction on a deck to their RV. Nothing but banging and drilling until 9pm. Go somewhere else if you’re looking for a peaceful experience. The owner really needs to separate the short term campers from the long term RV areas. Free Wifi is advertised but is only available at or right near the front office/store. Electric is advertised but if you are a tent camper you need a 220 converter. Overall I kind of wish I would’ve stayed somewhere else but will still give some stars for friendly people and location relative to the state park.

There are still good people in this world. Sam is one of them, and lucky for you, he owns this campground. Not only did Sam stay late to get us a site at his campground after an exhausting day of travel and a miscommunication on the place we originally booked, but he helped us with our hitch on our way out of town. Thankful for the hospitality and the genuine kindness. Definitely recommend this campground as a landing spot to explore the Watkins Glen area!
