Peppermint Park Camping Resort Introduce
Peppermint Park Camping Resort is a premier outdoor destination located in the tranquil Berkshire Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. As a women-owned business, the resort prides itself on creating a welcoming, inclusive, and community-focused environment for travelers from across the Commonwealth. The name of the park serves as a historical tribute to the local peppermint oil industry that thrived in the Plainfield area during the early 1800s. Today, that industrious spirit has been transformed into a vibrant seasonal community where nature, tradition, and modern recreation meet. Spread across 120 acres of rolling hills, the resort offers a mix of wooded and grassy sites designed to provide a peaceful retreat for both short-term visitors and seasonal residents.
For Massachusetts locals, Peppermint Park is more than just a place to pitch a tent or park an RV; it is a seasonal "second home" for many who return year after year. The resort emphasizes a balance between quiet relaxation and active social engagement. Whether you are looking to spend a silent afternoon reading under a canopy of hemlocks or participating in a lively horseshoe tournament, the park’s layout and management style cater to a diverse range of camping preferences. The atmosphere is traditional and rustic, yet the resort continuously invests in its facilities to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for the modern camper.
Location and Accessibility are key factors that make this resort a popular choice for residents of the Pioneer Valley and beyond. Situated at 169 Grant St, Plainfield, MA 01070, the park is tucked away in a high-elevation pocket of the Berkshires, offering cooler summer temperatures and some of the clearest night skies in the state. Getting to the resort involves a scenic drive through the winding roads of Route 116 or Route 112, providing a beautiful introduction to the rural landscape. The resort is committed to accessibility, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, dedicated accessible parking lots, and restrooms designed to accommodate visitors with mobility needs. This ensures that the scenic views and community facilities are available to all members of the family.
The services offered at Peppermint Park Camping Resort are comprehensive, designed to support everything from primitive tenting to luxury RVing. The staff provides a range of onsite services to make each stay as seamless as possible. These services include:

When considering what is worth choosing at Peppermint Park Camping Resort, the "community feel" stands out as the most significant factor. For families in Massachusetts, choosing this campground means joining a group of people who value safety, friendliness, and shared experiences. The resort is particularly worth choosing for those who have children, as the large playground and the consistent schedule of weekend activities—ranging from crafts to hayrides—ensure that kids are always engaged and making new friends. The park's pet-friendly policy also makes it an excellent choice for dog owners who want their four-legged companions to enjoy the Berkshire air.
Furthermore, the resort is worth choosing for its spectacular views and stargazing opportunities. Because it is located away from the light pollution of major cities, the hilltop grassy sites offer a panoramic view of the mountains and a stunning display of the Milky Way at night. It is a location that encourages you to "unplug" and appreciate the slower pace of life in the hilltowns. For RV owners, the spaciousness of the sites and the reliability of the full hookups provide a level of convenience that makes even a short weekend trip feel like a luxury vacation. Whether you are a local seeking a quick escape or a traveler exploring the Mohawk Trail, Peppermint Park provides a high-quality, authentic New England camping experience.
Finally, the resort's commitment to being women-owned and family-operated adds a personal touch to the hospitality. Many reviews from real customers emphasize the cleanliness of the grounds and the helpfulness of the staff, reflecting a business that truly cares about the guest experience. By choosing Peppermint Park, you are not just booking a campsite; you are choosing to be part of a tradition that has been a staple of the Plainfield community for decades. It is an investment in quality time, fresh air, and the simple joy of a campfire under the stars.

First the pros-big grassy fields. Large permanent sites, swimming pool and nice playground. Very quiet. Management doesn't bother you. Nice traditional camping. Now the cons-nice grassy tent sites with NO water not even a shared water supply. You had to go to a bathroom. Bathroom was single person, if someone was showering you could not use bathroom. The biggest negative for us was how small the sites were for people not staying full time. Wood was reasonable at 10 a bundle but make sure you have exact change, they don't like making change. Same goes for the 10 fee for the gate card.
Two years ago we camped in September for a month. The campground was very clean. Everyone was so friendly. We liked it so much the next year we camped for two months. everyone was very pleasant and welcoming to us. All of our family visited frequently especially for birthdays and important events. The grand children love the playground Which was very large and different. Also complete with a large sandbox. They also had different activities on the weekends . we were very happy that we found this campground. Bill and Mary Walsh
We’ve been camping here on and off for 20+ years and the last few we have been seasonal. It’s the cleanest campground around with the friendliest campers and workers. There’s plenty to do for us now without the kids and there was plenty when they came with us when they were younger. We love the activities, the pool and mostly relaxing at our campsite with family and friends. It’s our favorite place to camp! Looking forward to this coming season!!
Cute resort. We stayed with family. The rules should be revisited. Great location with a lot of activities for all ages.
