Pleasant Valley Campground Introduce

For residents of Pennsylvania seeking a genuine retreat from the hustle of city life, Pleasant Valley Campground offers a serene sanctuary in the heart of the Northern Poconos. Located in the picturesque community of Equinunk, this campground is a hidden gem that prioritizes tranquility, natural beauty, and a welcoming atmosphere for all. As a women-owned business, it stands out for its inclusive environment and meticulous maintenance, providing a space where families, solo travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts can reconnect with nature in a restful park setting. Whether you are looking for a weekend under the stars or a seasonal spot for your trailer, this location embodies the peaceful spirit of the Pennsylvania countryside.

The atmosphere at Pleasant Valley Campground is notably quiet, often described by visitors as more peaceful than many of the larger State Parks. It is a destination where the sounds of the rustling leaves and the nearby creek take center stage. The community here is a blend of friendly annual weekenders who keep stationed trailers and short-term visitors seeking a quick escape. The management is frequently commended for their helpfulness and hospitality, ensuring that every guest feels valued and comfortable. For those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community or are looking for a transgender safe space, the campground is explicitly inclusive, fostering a culture of respect and safety for everyone who enters the grounds.

Location and Accessibility are key components of the Pleasant Valley experience. Situated at 1619 Pine Mill Rd, Equinunk, PA 18417, the campground is nestled in one of the most beautiful sections of Wayne County. While it feels worlds away from modernization, it is conveniently located just a few minutes from the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, offering unparalleled access to some of the best fishing and river recreation in the state. Getting to the campground involves a scenic drive through the rolling hills of the Northern Poconos, making the journey part of the adventure itself.

In terms of physical accessibility, the campground is prepared to welcome all guests. It features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a dedicated wheelchair-accessible parking lot, ensuring that the transition from arrival to the campsite is manageable for those with mobility needs. While the terrain is natural and rustic, the primary areas are designed to be navigable. Visitors should note that cell phone service is limited in this rural valley, which adds to the "off-the-grid" charm but requires a bit of planning. Local services, such as the Equinunk General Store and the convenience store at Rileyville Corners, are a short drive away for any last-minute supplies or snacks.

What is worth choosing at Pleasant Valley Campground depends on the type of experience you are seeking. For the traditional outdoorsman, the tent sites by the creek are worth choosing because of the soothing sounds of the water and the relative seclusion from the RV sections. Supporting a women-owned business that actively creates a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community adds a layer of purpose to your vacation. Really peaceful & well-maintained campground. I absolutely loved how quiet my stay was; it was more enjoyable than many State Parks I've visited! It was also affordable costing me $25 dollars (cash only) for 1 night with a tent. Brian, the owner, was very friendly & grateful I came. There were several sites available that I could choose from. Campsites here primarily consist of grassy clearings. Most sites include a rock campfire ring & a table, but some do not, so visitors should plan accordingly. Most visitors to this campground are annual weekenders with stationed camping trailers/RVs. However, there are a few additional sites designated for short term visitors. Electric hookups are readily available for trailers while ideal tent sites will be found toward the back of the grounds & beside the creek. Restrooms, & at least one shower (with hot water), are also available & were clean. The shower costs 25 cents per 5 mins & only accepts quarters. This campground is located in an absolutely beautiful area of the Northern Poconos with plenty of fishing & river recreation opportunities nearby! The Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River is also just a few minutes away! Cell phone service will likely be non-existent, but nearby services include the Equinunk General Store & the convenient store at Rileyville Corners. For experienced camping enthusiasts/outdoorsmen, the Pleasant Valley Campground is likely to be an enjoyable experience!
