Soaring Eagle Camp Ground and Wedding Venue Introduce

Soaring Eagle Camp Ground and Wedding Venue is a premier outdoor destination located in the northernmost reaches of Pennsylvania, where the tranquil waters of the Upper Delaware River carve through the scenic Pocono and Catskill Mountains. For over three decades, this family-owned and operated facility has served as a sanctuary for those seeking to disconnect from the frantic pace of modern life and reconnect with the raw beauty of the Keystone State. It is more than just a place to pitch a tent; it is a community-focused retreat that combines the rugged charm of traditional camping with the elegant functionality of a professional event space. Residents of Pennsylvania and neighboring states often describe arriving here as "coming home," a testament to the warm, personalized hospitality provided by the owners and staff.

The campground’s identity is deeply intertwined with its environment. Nestled along the banks of one of the cleanest and most unspoiled rivers in the United States, Soaring Eagle offers guests a front-row seat to a thriving ecosystem. It is not uncommon for campers to wake up to the sight of a bald eagle gliding over the water or to fall asleep to the rhythmic sound of the river flowing over the famous Kellam’s Bridge. The property is divided into distinct zones that cater to different preferences, including sun-drenched riverfront sites, shaded woodland areas, and the historic "Lodge @ Soaring Eagle," which serves as a central hub for family reunions, corporate retreats, and romantic weddings. Whether you are an avid angler chasing the early spring shad or a couple looking to exchange vows beneath a canopy of ancient trees, this venue provides a versatile and breathtaking backdrop.

Located at 4092 River Rd, Equinunk, PA 18417, Soaring Eagle Camp Ground is strategically positioned for accessibility while remaining tucked away in a peaceful pocket of Wayne County. Travelers coming from the Scranton area can enjoy a scenic drive via Route 6 and Route 191 North, passing through the charming town of Honesdale. For those arriving from the New York City or New Jersey metropolitan areas, the route typically involves crossing the historic Kellam’s Bridge, though RV owners are advised to use alternate routes due to the bridge's eight-foot height clearance. The campground management is known for providing clear, detailed directions to ensure all guests arrive safely at the riverfront.

Accessibility is a priority at Soaring Eagle, as the venue features wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restroom facilities. Once on the grounds, the layout is designed to be navigable, with spacious sites that provide ample room for large RV units to maneuver. The property’s proximity to local attractions such as the Callicoon Farmers Market, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, and various hiking trails makes it an ideal basecamp for exploring the wider Northeast Pennsylvania (NEPA) region. Despite its secluded feel, the campground ensures that guests remain connected to essential services, providing a balance of wilderness and convenience that is rare in the high-country river valley.

Soaring Eagle Camp Ground and Wedding Venue offers a robust menu of services designed to enhance the stay of every visitor. The management takes a "hands-on" approach, ensuring that facilities are clean and that guest needs are promptly addressed. Key services offered at the site include:

  • RV camping with dedicated electric hookups (supporting 20, 30, and 50-amp service) and water connections.
  • Spacious tent sites located directly on the riverbank or nestled within private wooded sections.
  • A professional wedding and event service, including the use of a 3,200-square-foot event tent, dance floors, and specialized lighting.
  • Full-service watercraft rentals, including canoes, kayaks, and tubes, with shuttle transportation provided to upriver launch points.
  • The Lodge @ Soaring Eagle, a six-bedroom facility that sleeps up to 24 guests and features both indoor and outdoor kitchens.
  • On-site administrative support for event planning, ranging from intimate rehearsal dinners to large-scale wedding receptions.
  • Modern sanitation facilities, including a clean bathhouse with hot showers and a convenient dump station for RVs.
  • A general camp store stocked with essential supplies, firewood, and ice to ensure campers are well-prepared for their stay.

The highlights and features of Soaring Eagle are what truly set it apart from more commercialized camping options. Every aspect of the park is designed to showcase the natural splendor of the Upper Delaware. Highlights of a visit here include:

  • Direct access to some of the best fishing on the Delaware River, with opportunities to catch smallmouth bass, trout, and walleye.
  • A private, in-ground swimming pool located at the Lodge, offering a refreshing alternative to river activities during the summer months.
  • A dedicated playground and kid-friendly hiking trails, making the campground a top choice for families with young children.
  • Pet-friendly policies that welcome well-behaved dogs, allowing the entire family to enjoy the outdoors together.
  • Historic Kellam’s Bridge views, providing a picturesque and nostalgic setting for photography and evening walks.
  • The opportunity for wildlife observation, particularly the nesting bald eagles and diverse bird species native to the Pocono Mountains.
  • A flexible event infrastructure that can accommodate up to 300 seated guests for waterfront ceremonies and celebrations.
  • Modern payment convenience, as the venue accepts credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments for all rentals and fees.

We recently had a family reunion at the Inn and it couldn’t have gone better! The grounds are beautifully private and the in ground pool is great for the kids and adults . The Inn itself is family friendly while being spacious and very clean. All staff personnel were very respectful/helpful toward our family and assured we had a pleasant stay. Easy access to canoes & tubes for river rides a big plus. The Inn would be a great choice for any event!Greg & Gina
