What is worth choosing about Pure Country Campground is the genuine integrity and care that permeates the entire operation. In an era where many campgrounds have become impersonal and corporate, this location maintains a doll-like charm thanks to its dedicated owners. It is worth choosing specifically for the peace of mind it offers; whether you are worried about the safety of your horse or the quality of your evening meal, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure everything is handled with a personal touch. The combination of clean, hot showers, comforting home-cooked meals, and some of the best trail access in the Northeast makes it a 10/10 experience for any traveler.
Furthermore, the campground is worth choosing for its sheer versatility. While it is an equestrian paradise, it is equally "good for kids" and those who simply want to hike or fish. The value provided—from the tarp-covered stalls to the well-equipped cabins—makes it an affordable way to experience the best of New York’s natural landscape. For many visitors, it quickly becomes a "second home," a place where the air is pure, the breezes are refreshing, and the community of fellow campers feels like family. If you are looking for a place that values tradition, nature, and kindness, Pure Country Campground is the ideal destination for your next New York retreat.

Customer Reviews
Renamed Taste of Country, stayed a few days and thoroughly enjoyed my stay with friends and horses. Over 20 miles riding in 2 days, delicious meals prepared by Shelly. Thanks for a memorable weekend.
I've always loved going to Pure Country Campground. I was a bit nervous with the new owner and possible changes, but she is absolutely a doll and had only improved the whole place. The showers are great after a day of sweaty, or non stop rainy, CTR competition. The meal she prepared us, family style salads, lasagna, and bread was very good and comforting! There is non stop grass for the horses if you have your own pen, and added stalls if needed which are a great convenience. We will definitely be back soon!
Shelly was the best.I had a problem with key fob on my bike. She went out of her way to hook up trailer to help get my bike outta woods, at 10:30 at night!Amazing host !Amazing peace of tranquility!
Always enjoyed coming here because of the carriage trails. However there is new owner Shelly! She is a delight. She has made numerous wonderful improvements and opened a Restaurant. Great hospitality
I had this page “liked” on my Facebook due to attending multiple graduation parties or get togethers here over the years. suddenly their Facebook page “Pure Country Campground” is flooded with drama and the new owner just bashing people especially the old owners. talking about people on their business page. Paragraphs posted bashing people. Even to the extreme of making videos talking about them day after day after day! Whatever issues there are between the new and old owner should be kept between them not blasted on the internet and it certainly does not make me want to stay there or if still applicable, host or attend an event there. How would it be a relaxing, enjoyable, event when there’s constant drama? Not impressed at all with the simple business page presentation. Petty drama and worried if as a visitor there was something she did not agree with it would be blasted on their social media page before it was brought to my attention?
