As part of the Adventure Bound network, the Cooperstown location emphasizes community and active play. It is a place where children can spend their afternoons on giant inflatable water slides or at the playground, while adults enjoy the peaceful scenery of the surrounding New York countryside. The park is well-known in the region for its friendly staff and its commitment to providing a kid-friendly environment that encourages making new friends around the campfire.

Location and accessibility are major draws for Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cooperstown. Located at 111 E Turtle Lake Rd in Garrattsville, NY, the park is approximately 15 to 20 minutes away from the Village of Cooperstown. This makes it a strategic choice for visitors heading to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the Farmers' Museum, or the Fenimore Art Museum. The drive to the campground takes you through scenic backroads typical of Central New York, offering a secluded feel while remaining within easy reach of regional hubs like Oneonta and Morris.

For those traveling with large rigs or mobility needs, the resort offers several accessibility features. The entrance and main facilities, including the general store and restrooms, are designed to be wheelchair accessible. The parking lot also includes designated accessible spaces. Its location in the southern end of Otsego County provides a quieter alternative to the busier motels in the immediate Cooperstown village, allowing guests to return to a more natural setting after a day of sightseeing.

The resort accepts modern payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, making transactions at the camp store or ice cream shop seamless. When considering which campground is worth choosing in the Cooperstown area, Adventure Bound is a top contender for families who prioritize activity and entertainment. It is worth choosing if you have children who thrive on social interaction and physical play; the combination of the pool, water slides, and playground ensures they are never bored. When we arrived at ABC, we inquired if we could move cabins to be near family, and staff was happy to help. As the staff cleaned our cabin, they made us aware that the air conditioner was leaking down the wall and we could move if we wanted. Indeed the wall was soaked under the air conditioner(right near an electric socket), but since the weather was decent, we told them we would just leave it off. I proceeded to open windows, but found the screen in the back room completed detached and "blowing in the breeze".On the second night, my husband got up to use the bathroom and was greeted by approximately fifty large ants crawling around the floor. We spent the next half hour killing ants. The toilet was shimmed, but still was "rocking" excessively whenever we used it. We are not ones to complain so we made the best of our visit. On the plus side, the kids with other members of our group had a great time with activities. Staff was pleasant. If the owners made some small improvements, this could be a wonderful place. We actually chose to leave a night early as I just couldn't take another night in the cabin. Given the price we paid for the stay, (nearly $900 for four nights), I don't think we will return.

The campground looks like they havent put any money into it since the 80s. The sites are incredibly tight and the site we rented literally faced a seasonal as if it were a buddy site. This made for sitting outside uncomfortable. The unlevel pads are grass and filled with ruts. The "crystal lake" is more like a swampy pond on the side we were on. I would not consider swimming in it and no one did when we were there. The nicer side of the lake is all seasonal campers. The playground is from the 80s... all wood, metal slide, 55gal drum slide, tires. The only thing fresh on it is the spray paint they haphazardly applied. They do inflate a bounce house and a water slide for the kids which gave them something to do.The pool and pool area is big and did seem clean. I will give them credit for that however the pool itself had holes in the concrete big enough my kid could put her hand in them. The railing falls over if you grab onto it.The seasonal campers we were next to did not respect quiet hours. They blasted (not family appropriate) music in the pavilion until 10pm and then went back to their campsite and turned the music back on until 2am.They apparently coordinate a golf cart parade on Friday night which consists of everyone driving there carts through the campground at 9:30 while laying on their horns. That was wonderful to experience. Probably 30 golf carts doing laps honking their horns. There are 2 dump stations and the one we went to is very tight quarters for anyone with a larger camper. The "black tank flush" line is the elbow nozzle attached to the flexible pole. These are pretty much useless for anything other than cleaning your hose.I would not recommend this campground to anyone. Its TRASH.The staff seemed courteous and helpful.

I was very excited to book a family-friendly, peaceful campsite on the lake to have a great weekend with my family. When we arrived to ABC we were very disappointed to realize that the campsites sit directly on top of each other. We were squeezed in between huge campers, and the campground seemed to be about 90% seasonal sites. People were not respectful of quiet hours and were blasting music until the middle of the night while yelling loudly to it. My kids were trying to sleep at 9:30 pm, and a golf cart train came around blasting horns and music. I am not someone against having a few drinks while camping, but it was obvious that people were impaired while driving around the golf carts, and the campground reeked of cigarettes and weed. I expected more from a campground that cost $170 for two nights, $72 for a 24-hour golf cart rental, and not to mention that they charge you after the fact for electricity. It could be a very nice campground if some things were to change, but in my opinion, it is an overpriced place where people go to drink.

THIS IS NOT A HOTEL! It is a nice campground!Cute, beautiful, lil campground. A lot of quieter “long-term” RV peeps on the side we stayed on. It was nice. Our youngest son caught his first fish! Dad also caught a fish 😊. Quiet hours 11 PM/weekends, 10 PM/weekdays.Each site had its own fire pit with optional-use grate on hinges - this is how we cooked all of our food for the week we stayed. It was awesome and peaceful.Activities for kids & families every weekend, every weekend has a special “theme”. Check out their website! Activities during the week too, ask office folk (they leave around 4/5 PM, so don’t keep missing them like us!) what activities are when. 4/5 of our little ones went to the pavilion with one of the park workers & made sand art!Several sections of camp. Cabins, RV sites, tent sites.Nice Playground, blow-up waterslides, pavilion, pool, Adventure Bound is on Garretsville’s (close to Cooperstown) Crystal Lake, & MORE!And for you Baseball folk - Would be a great place to stay if you wanted to camp AND go to the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame!

The ABC Cooperstown location was a massive disappointment. The campground looks like it hasn't made any upgrades in decades. The most disappointing areas were the dilapidated basketball and tennis courts and overgrown baseball field. Given the fact that Cooperstown is a destination for baseball families the condition of the baseball field pictured here was a shock. The lake also looked like a swamp full of alge and did not seem safe for swimming or kayaking/paddle boating. The hours of operation of the kid fun zone with the waterslides were limited to 11-3 which is inconvenient for families who want to make the 30 min drive into Cooperstown. The pool closing at 8pm was also a disappointment for my family. The camp store hours are also limited to 9-5, which is a challenge given the fact that the campground is at least 30 mins from the nearest convenience store. The very unfriendly staff member who checked us in at 4:45pm on Monday August 4th was quick to let us know they were closing soon and the nearest store was a hike back to Cooperstown. It seemed that we were an inconvenience to her checking in so close to the end of their day.The only parts of the campground that met my expectations was the deluxe cabin which was clean and spacious and the pool which was clean.
