R&R Deerrun Campground Introduce

For New York residents seeking a genuine escape into the countryside, R&R Deerrun Campground offers a refreshing alternative to the large, corporate-owned camping resorts that often feel overcrowded. Located in the tranquil town of Lisle, this family-owned destination is specifically designed for those who appreciate a slower pace of life and a community-centric atmosphere. Whether you are a local passing through on a bike ride or an experienced traveler looking for a seasonal home, the scenic views and peaceful environment here provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The campground is celebrated for its intimate feel, ensuring that guests never feel like a "sardine" between rows of metal, but rather a welcome member of a quiet outdoor community.

R&R Deerrun Campground is particularly attractive to those who value the personal touch that only a family-run business can provide. The owners and staff are frequently praised for their helpfulness and their commitment to the safety and enjoyment of their guests. This dedication creates a secure environment where families can thrive, children can play freely, and pet owners can enjoy the company of their four-legged friends without unnecessary stress. In a region where finding a truly quiet spot can be a challenge, this campground stands out as a sanctuary where the natural beauty of Upstate New York is the primary attraction.

Location and accessibility are major advantages for visitors choosing R&R Deerrun Campground. Situated at 412 Jennings Rd, Lisle, NY 13797, USA, the campground is nestled in a beautiful rural area that remains surprisingly accessible to modern travelers. One of the most significant benefits for those driving larger vehicles is that the local roads are "big rig friendly," meaning you won't have to navigate through narrow, winding country lanes that often cause anxiety for RV owners. The campground itself has prioritized inclusivity, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot to ensure that the beauty of the outdoors is available to everyone in the New York region.

The services offered at R&R Deerrun are designed to provide convenience while maintaining the rustic charm of a country stay. During the weekends, the onsite diner and camp store become the heart of the community, offering great food and essential supplies so that you don't have to leave the grounds for every minor need. For those planning a longer stay, the campground provides onsite services that make life on the road much easier. While the facility currently offers 20/30 AMP electrical service, the management is actively engaged in property upgrades to further enhance the guest experience, demonstrating a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of service.

  • Onsite diner and camp store open during weekends for convenient meals and supplies.
  • Dedicated onsite parking for both campers and visitors.

For those who enjoy a bit of quiet recreation, the onsite pond is a popular spot for fishing. The weekend and holiday schedule is often filled with organized activities, providing plenty of opportunities for campers to socialize and participate in community events. Furthermore, as a dog-friendly establishment, the campground ensures that your pets are treated as part of the family, with plenty of space for them to enjoy the outdoors alongside you.

What is worth choosing about R&R Deerrun Campground is the sense of peace and the quality of the hospitality. It is worth choosing because it offers the rare combination of being out in the country while still having big rig friendly roads and proximity to groceries. For New York residents who find the larger, more commercial campsites too loud or impersonal, this Lisle location provides the "R&R" (Rest and Relaxation) promised in its name. The friendly nature of the owners, the accessibility of the grounds, and the charming weekend diner make it a standout choice for anyone looking to experience the heart of New York's rural beauty without sacrificing essential comforts.

Additionally, choosing this campground supports a local family business that is clearly invested in its future. We had a last minute change of travel plans and spent the spring/summer here and it was great! There is a diner/camp store open during the weekends and the food/service was great! We travel a lot so we get to see a large number of campgrounds and we prefer the smaller family owned ones over the larger ones where you feel like you are a sardine trapped between RVs. One of the things I fear most when going to a campground out in the country are the unknown roads, but the roads in this area are big rig friendly so you will not have any issues getting to or from the campground. I have a list of pros/cons and hopefully they help you out.Pros: Family/pet friendly, plenty of activities to join on the weekends/holidays, quiet during the week, the owners and the other campers in general are friendly and helpful. There is a playground, a pond for fishing, 15-20 minutes away from groceries.Cons: They only have 20/30 AMP service, but they are in the process of doing many upgrades and electric is on that list. Cell service is spotty, so working from home can be challenging, but nothing that a booster wouldn't help with.Thank you so much for making room for our family on such short notice. We greatly appreciate you guys and cannot wait to return next time we are back up that way.
