Range 14 RV Park Introduce
For RV enthusiasts and members of the military community in the New Jersey region, Range 14 RV Park in Browns Mills offers a unique and highly specialized camping experience. Situated on the outskirts of the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) cantonment area, this park serves as a vital recreational resource for those looking for a functional and affordable home base. Whether you are a local resident looking for a weekend "staycation" or a traveler visiting the area's military installations, Range 14 provides a rugged, outdoor-focused atmosphere that distinguishes it from more commercialized tourist resorts in the state.
As part of the 87th Force Support Squadron's (FSS) Outdoor Recreation offerings, the park is deeply integrated into the local military landscape. It is particularly well-known for being situated adjacent to the Rod and Gun Club's shooting ranges, which gives the park its distinctive name. This setting provides a fascinating environment for visitors who enjoy the sights and sounds of an active range during the day, while benefiting from deep, wooded silence once the sun goes down. For New Jerseyans, it represents one of the few places where military heritage and outdoor recreation truly intersect in a meaningful way.
The park is located at Browns Mills, NJ 08015, USA, specifically situated near the intersection of Browns Mills-Cookstown Road and the range areas of Fort Dix. Its location is a major selling point for those who need to access the main base, as it is only a seven-minute drive to the main entrance. For local New Jerseyans, the park’s position in Burlington County means it is centrally located between the bustling shopping districts of Pemberton and the serene wilderness of the Pine Barrens. While the initial navigation through the range roads can be slightly challenging for newcomers, the route is easily mastered and offers a scenic introduction to the surrounding forest.
Accessibility at Range 14 RV Park is designed to accommodate a wide variety of users. Furthermore, the park offers on-site parking for secondary vehicles, which is a significant convenience for residents who may be using the park as a long-term stationary stay while working at the base or exploring the local region. Its proximity to both on-base and off-base shopping means that essential supplies, groceries, and recreational equipment are never more than a few miles away.

Nice spot to get away. Very weak if any cell service, however, 50 amp electric, one water faucet even two sites, and sewer make it a nice stationary stay. 7 minutes to get onto main base and a few more minutes to reach on or off base shopping. Gun range is active Wed, Sat, and Sun, so other days are very quiet, and everything stops before dark. Roads are a tad challenging at first, but easily mastered with a few trips.
Beautiful place, but we were INVADED BY DEER TICKS! Even with bug spray. So if you stay at range 14, make sure to use lots and lots of bug spray and wear long pants, long sleeves and a hat! Happy camping everyone!
I filled out and emailed 10 pages of paperwork and you are not even on the base. We have stayed at multiple military bases and just showed our ID's at the gate.We were worned that the electricity was supposed to be 50 amps but the contractor only did 30 amps.Water is on a split faucet with the camper next door and when we arrived the guy was using our faucet for his hot tub plus extension cords were wrapped all around the faucet. $35 and nothing there and it is very far from the interstate so we will not stay here again.
Good: only $100/week, new gravel at sites and some grass between, picnic bench.Bad: old bath house 1 block away, no laundry, sites close together, some sites share water connection, sewer 12" high, water accumulates behind sites during rain, next to skeet range and near other military ranges day and night.
This range is not technically open to the public. But for the price, it cannot be beat. It is primarily open to military and civilian employees of the DoD. Full hookup, minus cable. AT&T has enough service to hotspot a Fire Stick/TV. T-Mobile, not so much. Like others have said, peaceful gunfire. The worst thing is the dust of those passing by the site on the gravel roads at what seems to be over the posted speed limits. 😷😶🌫️
