The atmosphere at Riverfront Campground is defined by its tight-knit community of "regulars" who often describe themselves as family. From the perspective of a local user, the appeal lies in the campground's simplicity and its focus on the water. It offers a peaceful, rustic environment where the primary activities are dictated by the flow of the river and the activity of the fish. As a local business deeply embedded in Perry County, the campground emphasizes hospitality and helpfulness, often accommodating last-minute arrivals and providing expert local knowledge on river conditions. This is my favorite place to be! This is our 5th year coming here and we are sad every time we pull away. The regulars are like family. The new campers we meet are so happy to have found this gem and always return. The kayak trips are a great time. The views are unbeatable. My entire family loves it here. The grandkids enjoy it rain or shine. We catch catfish off the bank without having to leave our site. It’s so peaceful to sit in your chair in the river and absorb the nature, it’s a scenic wonderland. Our pup is also the happiest he’s ever been when we come to camp. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place and the memories we have made. We have a generator but rarely use it, the riverfront spots offer a breeze and shade, a fan, a hammock and great friends and family to share the experience is all I need to be happy here.
My friend and I were traveling down the river when it was too low and our boat hit a lot of rocks, we couldn't use the motor and we couldn't get to our designated camping spot before dark. I called the owner/manager and they were very kind and patient about giving us a camping spot last moment, at a great price! Views of the river are pretty nice, and the campsite had a good fire ring. Boat ramp was useable to back in and out of. Campground looked great, had a bath house and other facilities. Owner/manager was very helpful and would stay here again.
It’s a great place, laid back, nice views of the River, affordable! The facilities are a bit rustic but they are adequate
Love coming here. Good for the whole family. Kid friendly place with lovely people.
Truly enjoyed my weekend here. Staff was very helpful. Right on the riverfront! Only big downfall for me was the electric. Its 15amp breakers powering each site. My little pup tripped it when attempting to use the a/c and lights at night would dim then brighten often. Not a big deal for me. There is a small restroom building and porta potties around the camp. They sell wood on site, rent boats, and canoes as well as help you find good spots to drop in upstream. Campground is located right on the end of the Juniata river where it joins the susquehanna. Will camp here often due to location. Good little camp for those not spoiled with glamping. Would give 5 stars if electric were updated.
