Absolutely phenomenal experience was had by our entire party. Beautifully kept grounds.... clean facilities and great rental cabins, wagons, and rvs. We had our own RV and stayed in a premium rv spot. 50 amp service. The staff was awesome to say the least. Gated dog park...Beautiful river with a nice community gazebo and chairs if you don't rent a river site. Very relaxing and easy laid back campground. Driveway is kind of steep but easy to do...We did pumpkin carving and had a wine and cheese activity.
They Promised Us a Spot — Then Left Us Stranded and Treated Us Like a NuisanceAbsolutely awful experience. We called ahead and were clearly told there was a place available for us to camp. We confirmed it on the phone — everything sounded fine. We packed up, drove out with our gear, and were honestly looking forward to a relaxing weekend. But when we arrived? Suddenly, they were “out of places” and acted like they had no idea what we were talking about. No apology. No help. Just cold stares and a seriously bad attitude, like we were the ones inconveniencing them by showing up after doing exactly what they told us to do.They were rude, unprofessional, and completely unbothered by the fact that they ruined our plans. Not even an attempt to fix the situation or offer an alternative — just a dismissive “we’re full” and a shrug. If you like gambling with your weekend and getting treated like trash for their mistake, then this place is for you. Otherwise? Avoid it like poison ivy.
I was only here for one night and it was off-season staying with some friends. It was very quiet very kid friendly it has a fenced in dog park. The bathrooms are clean. And there is an outdoor shower, which is nice to wash off any sand. There’s a little beach, but it’s a rocky beach. There’s a lot of cute little details like the fairy garden that I found. We stayed in the wagon. The bunkbeds were comfortable. The full-size bed was comfortable. They had firewood available to purchase for eight dollars a bundle and this was off-season so we were able to just text message. Whoever was on shift if we needed anything. The swingset gazebo was really nice and I think it would be great for a group of friends to hang out. There’s a full playground great for kids and the mining for minerals mill was definitely nice and entertaining. They had canoe rentals available.
Here today as part of the Sullivan County Dove Geotrail. The dove and the cache are separated as the camp sites are seasonal and cache is available year round. Staff helped us put that together...thank you!
I've been camping and enjoying nature for a nice few years. But first time bumping into a campsite with nasty staff and amd zero respect. Would never recommend it.
