When considering which New Hampshire campground to choose, Shir-Roy stands out for its unique blend of heritage and hospitality. It is worth choosing because it maintains a "small-town" feel that many larger, corporate-owned parks have lost. The wooded sites are thoughtfully spaced to provide a sense of privacy and "camping among the pines" without feeling isolated from amenities. For families with children, the sheer variety of kid-centric activities—from the "Jumparoo" bouncy jumper to the pedal carts—ensures that boredom is never an option.

Furthermore, the value offered at Shir-Roy is exceptional. The inclusion of free running water and reasonable rates for various hookup levels makes it an affordable choice for both short weekend hops and long-term seasonal stays. The tranquility of the non-holiday weekends provides a peaceful sanctuary for those looking to enjoy nature, while the holiday weekends offer a lively, festive environment for those who love to socialize. With its 70-year legacy of excellence and its stunning location in the heart of the Monadnock Region, Shir-Roy Camping Area remains a top-tier choice for any camper in the New Hampshire area.

Wonderful campground! I come here every year and the owners and staff are so nice and helpful. They deliver wood to your site and help you back your rig in. This campground is my so relaxing and sweet. We swim in the pond, rent a boat and enjoy the fire pit. They have some themed weeks- carnival week is really fun for younger kids. There’s also a game building and you can borrow DVDs for free! This is my 1# campground and I tell every camper I know about it.

Wooded sites are a decent size and enough space between the sites so you don't feel right on top of your neighbor. Staff was great with bringing wood and assisting on parking if needed. Can't wait to go back.

We had the one site next to the water (#24) for almost a week! GREAT site! Beautiful bathrooms, nice showers and family-friendly service. I could see the focus on giving campers things to do while camping. Knowing people and the way they destroy things, I thought it VERY CLEVER keeping sites away from the waterfront! Being just down the road from my home, I see myself heading back there in the near future.

We LOVE this place! The rec-hall is great fun, and there are lots for kids to do, they're prices are very affordable, and again tons for the kids to do and all the extras pedal carts, boat rentals, games and snacks all on the cheap. Sites are nice with free running water and electricity for a small fee. Showers are pretty nice for a campground too. All in all I would highly recommend Shir-Roy. Whether vacationing or just a weekend getaway.

Previous years my family camped there. My kids pretty much grew up there over the span of 10 summers. Jen and Blair and their boys are amazing people. And the camp is very quiet most of the time. Holiday weekends get a bit louder than non-holiday weekends but there has never been an issue I am aware of. There is a wonderful clean beach with a float raft (wooden) for more experienced swimmers and supervised children, a recreation hall with jukebox, video games and a pool table. I cant forget about the huge fireplace you can sit next to on those cold rainy end of season days. The sites are all of decent size, and all well kept as is the shower and bathhouses. "The Field" is huge has plenty of room to run, play a game of baseball, volleyball, horseshoes pits or play on the playground equipment.
