What is worth choosing at Silver Lake Campground is the authentic Western New York camping experience it provides. Unlike massive commercial resorts that can feel impersonal, this park maintains a "hometown" feel that is increasingly rare. It is worth choosing for its incredible sunsets and the immediate access it provides to the water, allowing you to go from your morning coffee to your kayak in just a few steps. The lake itself is a "balanced and productive fishery," which means both novice and experienced fishermen will find plenty of action right from the docks or a small boat.

Furthermore, the campground's proximity to Letchworth State Park and the town of Perry makes it an unbeatable value. You get the peace and quiet of a smaller lakeside community while being only ten minutes away from one of the best state parks in the country. For families, the park is worth choosing because it provides a safe, friendly environment where kids can be kids—playing on the playground, fishing for panfish, or joining in on planned weekend activities. Most importantly, it is a place that prioritizes "peace." If you are a New Yorker looking for a place to recharge your mental health and enjoy the natural splendor of the Genesee Valley, Silver Lake Campground is a choice you won't regret. This place... it's special. Beautiful atmosphere, and a wonderful way to connect with nature, destress from work, and be okay. If your mental health is affected in any way, for your sake, come here. Watch the water, take in the town of Perry. Everything will be okay :)

My Dad has been coming here for years. It is a great place to go and get away for a while. The campground offers a laundromat, public bathrooms and showers, there is a small play ground on premises as well as a covered pavilion. The lake itself is great for boating, kayaking, and paddle boarding although you aren't able to swing near the shore due to the boats and they don't offer a lifeguard. It's also close enough to town that if you need supplies or don't feel like cooking you can run to the store without feeling like you are giving up your whole day and there is a pizza place up the road that delivers.Close enough to town to be convenient but far enough out that it's quiet and relaxing!
